I've noticed a slight bug regarding the wifi where the wifi would not update when I moved from home to campus. When I open up the wifi screen it still displays the wifi from at home and not on campus. It will not update or work until I toggle on+off airplane mode. Any one else have this issue?
Thanks

No my wifi updates itself without any problems. Are you on stock? if your not could be a ROM or kernel issue.
I am running rooted 4.2.1 on Nova launcher.

I have an unrooted KF with patch 6.2 on it. Even with 6.1 I was having this problem.
If I enable wifi and connect to my home wifi my KF periodically locks up/freezes. I connect to the router fine and can access the internet with no problems but after a short period the Fire will just freeze up on whatever it's currently doing. I have to hold the power button down for 15 seconds or so and reboot to get it back online. Then it frequently freezes at the slide to unlock screen.
If I disable wifi I have no problems at all. The Fire never freezes when wifi is disabled. I need to take it somewhere else and see if it's local to my wifi for some reason but I can't comprehend what could be causing this.
Anyone else have a similar problem? My wireless router is a Motorola surfboard wifi router/cable modem (SBG6580) that I have running with WEP in b/g mode.
yes i come across the same problem

What make/model is your wifi router?
No ideas? I'm at a loss. KF kind of sucks when you can't enable wifi without it locking up after a few minutes...
Recently, my N4 will show connected to wifi but it will act as if its not getting internet. Is this a known issue? Thanks.

I think it depends on your router.
My home wifi is sporatic when it comes to connection but at work, it's flawless. I venture it maybe hopping frequencies? When you are not getting internet/data, can you toggle off and then on in the settings and then try to open up google now? Will it refresh immediately then?
No such issue here since november 2012.

yes its been happening to me as well. Sometime when i am downloading an app, it just stuck on downloading... Youtube is also very slow. I tried some of fixes users suggested but it always goes back to being slow.
I am running Paranoid Android 3+ with Stock kernel.
EDIT: recently i switched my router from WEP to WPA2. I wonder if thats causing this issue.

I am on PA as well with stock kernel. I am thinking it's a wifi band issue. I am going to test out using 2.4 only at home to see if that works or not.
Like I said in my previous post, my work wifi (2.4GHz) works with no issues, but at home (unknown ghz right now) it stops connecting until I toggle wifi on and off. I am on WPA at both my work and home.
EDIT :
So far so good...I have been connected to my home wifi by switching the frequency to look for 2.4GHz only. No disconnect issues to report.

If you are talking about the CM10.1 that just had the wifi fixed then this issue needs to be reported to the developer. The developer needs to fix this issue.

but how to report? I can't able to post any comment on Android development
I just read your first post more carefully.
The wifi was fixed by dzo. He fixed the wifi the same way he fixed wifi in Aurora ICS. Your wifi problem is also in Aurora.
The best you can do is to flash the ROM (v5 with wifi) again (do a clean install). If it still doesn't fix that problem, then tell me and I will report the problem to developer.
Thanks.

Okay, I went back to Aurora V5U21 and flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24412002&postcount=3379
the patched WLAN configuration. Everything seems work great except I set the WiFi always on but when screen off still WiFi will off, but everytime it off it will autoconnect itself without reopen the WiFi.
And also I installed a clean CM10.1 V5, and used like 1 or 2hour then the WiFi icon remain blue but without updown arrow then awhile become grey and won't auto reconnect anymore, just stay grey there until I reopen WiFi. Is not a big problem but sometimes I open WiFi wait for Whatsapp or other social apps. I don't know when it disconnect.

OK, I will report that for you to the developer.
Same here
I too experience wifi not comnnecting after sleep mode... and When connected to USB mode.. the transfer rate is around 170 kbps... Anyone hav this problem??
I have sent a message to the developer. Now, I am not sure if he will fix this problem or not. I think he will fix it because a lot of people on the development thread are talking about this issue as well.
Since we are talking about CM10.1 wifi issues, I'll state mine too.
I installed CM10.1 v7 on my U8800, everything looked ok, apart from the wifi. I could see all networks around me but the phone couldn't connect to anyone.
The same issue was present in aurora 5v20 but flashing the alt wpa supplicant fixes the problem.
I tried using the same file in CM10.1, the wifi connected but only my home's router was visible ( I should be able to see at least 5 more routers) I could not see nor connect to any other network.
Anyone know why does this happen?

I am currently on CM10.1 v9 and found out that if I enable wifi modes b + g on my router the phone connects. With g mode only no luck. I don't know if that helps you, but it is something.
Hi,
I've recently upgraded to lollipop and it is amazing. The only issue I am facing is my Wifi drops out constantly (at home, the office, everywhere). Smart Network Switch is disabled, so this isn't the cause. Are there any known fixes for this? I've read that it seems to be quite the issue.
Thanks in advance.

I just went into settings / wireless and turned off smart network switching . cured it straight away
I always have it disabled and still happens. At first I thought it was my router, but it happens on every wireless network I connect to.
Hi there. It connects fine as soon as I turn the screen on. Not sure what the problem is. I believe it's a 5.1.1 issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/wifi-issue-t3059452
That link has the same issue and they couldn't figure it out either.
In wifi advanced settings check the wifi sleep policy..

I've tried everything. It's not that the wifi turns off when screen is off. It's that it stops scanning to connect to a new network automatically. It'll stay connected to whatever wifi I'm on as long as I'm in range but as soon as I'm out of range, it won't reconnect.
I had the same issue with some non Touchwiz roms like CM and GPE. I believe this is caused by the router. While I am at work it keeps disconnecting, while at home there is no problem at all. So I believe router is the cause of the problem. If you have access to the router, I would try setting to different channels and try.

Thanks for the advice. I had thought that too but I've tested other routers as well. It's a software issue as it works fine on Touchwiz. It's not that it disconnects, it just doesn't switch to any other saved network when the screen is off. As soon as I turn on the screen, it connects right away. All routers and SSIDs.
