Hi Everyone,
I am having issues with the built-in bluetooth handsfree system in my 2007 Infiniti g35x. In particular, although the bluetooth pairing was a quick and easy process, I can pick up and hang up calls without an issue, and audio is being sent back and forth between me and the other person on the line, the audio is garbled. I looked online and could not find a real way to deal with this --- is there any way to change settings with the bluetooth on my phone to get it to work with decent quality audio? It is barely (if at all) useable in its current state.
I have used the handsfree bluetooth system in the past with iPhones, and it has worked flawlessly (as far as I could tell). Does anyone know of any possible solutions to this problem?
Thanks for any help anyone can give! And sorry if this issue has been resolved before (I couldn't find anything).

Whilst we all wait to see if the HTC ROM with AKU 3.?? materializes, and if it does, whether the Bluetooth stack is improved, I would appreciate some help on a work around to improve in car hands free performance.
I have recently acquired an HTC Y-cable and a Martin Fields audio plug adapter, and I can now plug my TyTN into the Aux input in my car's sterio system and hear phone calls over my car sterio. However, as you would expect when I envoke my Bluetooth hands free device the sound is diverted away from my sterio and back to the Bluetooth device.
I thought to search for a Bluetooth Mic only but have not located one trawling on the net so far.
Is there a known registry hack that will stop the Bluetooth device from redirecting the sound to it, but still permit the mic to work? That way at least I could hear the other party with clarity even if my voice is not clearer. At least that would solve half the problem of the unsatisfactory Bluetooth performance for those that could use it.
Thanks.
I am experiencing the same problems as the person at; http://www.expansys-usa.com/ft.aspx?k=110775 but no answer there either....
I have added a few extra bits of detail to his post.
Anyone help me with this one please? My HTC Touch HD is having a problem keeping a bluetooth connection to my motorcycle 'Autocom' communications system. I have installed an Autocom bluetooth dongle on my Autocom system which appears to have successfuly paired to the phone. All appears fine, the bluetooth connection appears ok, the headset symbol appears at the top of the screen, however HD is able to make or receive only one call then at the end of the call the bluetooth connection is lost. The bluetooth connection still appears fine and the symbol still appears to have a headset around the BT symbol, some looks like it might still be paired.
When a second call comes in it rings and rings and goes to answerphone.
At present the only way to reconnect is to switch the ignition off then on again to allow the dongle to reconnect with the phone after every call, which is a little frustrating when you are on the motorway on a long journey. A bit annoying and something I would like to resolve if I can.
I have tried with other windows phones which work fine and wired solutions are proving to be bad sound quality having no USB audio on the HD means a custom 4pin 3.5mm to miniSB charging/audio lead is no even an option.
unsure if it a connection issue or maybe even a autoanswer issue. tried all various settings.
Any good ideas?
Folks
I'm still really desperate for any kind of assistance. Really need a solution. Love my Blackstone phone but only option available if I cant get any help is changing phones.
Please please someone offer some help.
Would changing to a cooked ROM amend the Bluetooth stability? or is that not going to make a difference?
I've spent days searching and trying all sorts of tweaks but I can't get anything to work. Can anyone PLEASE help!
I use Tomtom 7 and I've always sent the voice instructions to the bluetooth speaker in my bike helmet (just a handsfree paired item). I've previously done this on HTC devices with BTAudio and a one line registry tweak. Can anyone offer a solution to send all the audio to a bluetooth handsfree on the HD2?
I really hope someone can help, I've got the HD2 setup just right except for this last remaining item.
Many thanks,
i have the same problem...
@noony i think u have already enabled in bt setting the option "manage system audio in handsfree device" if u didnt...try that
for me doesnt work maybe its a headphone problem i see a sort of "fhhh" when any sound is played on phone but still come out from the speeker
another issue... every time i start a call with bt the volume is at the lower level..internal and headphone too! and the last is very strange because with my artemis didnt do

Yes I've tried the "manage system audio in handsfree device" option. I can get some background noise on the headsets (I'm trying with a Scala Rider and Motorola 700 & 850) but I never manage to get any sound.
Can anyone please offer a solution? It's a big disappointment for me if this isn't possible. Any suggestions welcome, many thanks.
My Observations
I pared it with my BMW and for the life of me cant ger any audio (music) over bluetooth ( the phone works fine) I then tried it on a $20 bluetooth earpiece I ocassionally use for the phone and guess what I can play music over it fine.
I tried and tried again in the car but could not get it to work.
I think some bluetooth devices will not work. Is there a different specifiaation for bluetooth ir BT1 and BT2 ??
I havent checked into this yet.....

It gives me some hope that you've got it to work with one bluetooth device. Can you please let me know exactly what you did to get the $20 bluetooth earpiece to work?
Thanks,
yeah that was my idea but without a stereo bt device i cant try to myself...i ordered to vodafone one with some of my tons of points...3 weeks and no answer!
I had the same issue and on my old phone, the HTC Touch HD, I used the following program to my satisfaction:
BTAudio
On my HTC HD2 however this doesn't seem to work anymore. :-(
it does the same thing of the inbuild bt option on hd2 its just a "quick link" to place on the bar
anyone of u have any problem with bt device volume? before i have an Artemis and 3 different device i used the device volume was every time the one i choose...now every time a new call starts phone volume its right but device volume jump to minimum level and every time i have to press + button like as i'm playing videopoker to dont miss fist seconds of a conversation
Works fine with Jabra 3030, all audio over it, music, system sounds and calls.
Maybe it's only working for bluetooth devices that are setup as stereo. Can anyone please offer a solution here?
I've installed a 6.5 rom (dutty v7 - thank you) on my HD and after a sprite restore (level 2) bluetooth audio divert works fine. Although I notived that the bluetooth options remained the old settings (possibly due to my backup restore) and the divert was done using the BTAudio. Sorry to keep asking but if anyone can shed light on this.
Is it possible to tweak the HD2 so that audio can be sent to any bluetooth headset/handsfree or is there some hardware limitation that stops this from being done?
I've tried every app and tweak that I can think of! Please can anyone help, even iof it's to let me know why this can't be done.
Thanks,
its what we all are trying to do......now i think its only a bt device problem...if it support bt2.1 and a2dp with edr seems to work all good....
i solved in car with headphone in the box...but bluetooth should be much and much better without any cable that always have to remove nodes (its the right word? sorry if not hehe)
I'm connecting to my HD2 using Jabra Stone, an A2DP headset. When I selected the stereo headset profile on the HD2, it redirected all system sounds to the headset: reminders, SMS alert, soundtrack for videos, audio player....except phone ring. I used BT Audio over a non-A2DP headset before with Diamond2, but the ausio is very poor, and the connection drops very often. Since I changed to A2DP headsets, the Diamond2 and HD2 supports it out of the box - no hack needed.
So look for A2DP headsets if you want to redirect audio.
Thank you to everyone that has helped with replies. I've now got my answer. If the bluetooth device supports A2DP then it works! (just won't work with mono etc)
I've now tested my HD2 with over a dozen bluetooth devices ALL A2DP enabled headsets regardless of if they are cheap or expensive!
Thanks again for everyone taking the time to help.
I have an LG HBM-220 bluetooth and cannot put audio to in, only phone calls!
How can i manage to do it?
I blame it on the stupid Widcomm Bluetooth stack... If the HD2 used the better MS stack, BT would play nice with with more of our periphirals and apps
I can't use MSVC properly with BT either....
the solution is to go to the bluetooth settings, select your device and connect the stereo audio connection.
Way back, Microsoft decreed that ONLY the phone app could use a mono BlueTooth headset, although any audio could be redirected to a stereo A2DP headset.
In order to get around this you need to fudge the sytem with something like BTAudio or TekSoft's BlueAudio.
The latter worked on my XDA Orbits (1 and 2) but does not work on my Touch HD with Dutty's R6 ROM (WM 6.5) possibly because BlueAudio requires the Microsoft BlueTooth stack and I suspect Dutty's ROM has the Widcomm stack. But I could be wrong about that.
BTAudio sort of works on my Touch HD, but outgoing audio is speeded up like I've been breathing Helium.
So no current solution to yet another idiotic gotcha from Microsoft.

Guys
i have a nokia HB-100 headset and i'm experiencing all kinds of strange behavours
sometimes system sounds including music ...etc get directed to the headset and some other time it just directs calls no matter how hard i try thru soft resets or unchecking then checking the "play system sounds ..." option!
very strange, any insights about this? is there a tweak to go with or is it a known WM defect?
I'm having much fun with my new Legend, and I love android 2.1!
Everythings goes smooth except the connection with my car.
I have a pretty new Audi TT from 2008, and with my old phone (t-mobile G1), I used it without a problem for over a year.
One month ago I bought the Legend, and bluetooth connection to the car seems to hang!, Even when I disable bluetooth, the phone becomes slow, and the bluetooth icoon keeps displaying in my notification erea.
One thing works, when I reset the phone, I can use the carkit for about 10 minutes, then it starts to disconnect. The adress book never syncs.
Can people please reply if they got their legend work properly with their bluetooth car kit.
Also when other people have problems, please reply here!
Thnx
I have a mini cooper S with BT car kit.
The connection is good and all the contats are correctly transferred but sometimes the connection has been lost.
It seems it happens during the net switch (between UMTS/GSM).
Same problem here. Kenwood DDX7029 with BT. 5 out of 10 times the phone won't connect when starting the car. Dis- and enabling BT does the trick.

This implies that if you disable data-roaming, it would work all the time?, I'm gonna try that out! Thanks for your reply!
Hi there. My first post in XDA
So cool that I found this thread because I have the exact same problem. I have an Audi A3 and the bluetooth connection is 9 out of 10 times lost during conversations and then the bluetooth icon just hangs until I boot the phone.
I'm gonna try to disable the data-roaming and see whether it works.
Still problem carkit/bluetooth Legend!!
Hi all,
I still/also experience problems with my Audi A4 carkit.
Also my colleague with a Opel Insignia experiencing the same problems.
I have to reset the bluetooth or reboot the phone te fix it
It is very annoying when you loose the bluetooth connection within a call.
I have already sent a message to HTC...and still waiting!
Switching off the data roaming or fix the UMTS/GSM settings doesn't help
Somebody a sollution?

Audi UHV 6654 problems
I have a BIG problem with this car kit connection...BIG means the device is useless till now.
I've paired the Legend with my A4 factory car kit and there are several problems:
1. No sounds come from the speakers (car speakers), still the michrophone is working fine. I had to put the phone on loudspeaker to hear something but of course this is not the normal way of using a car kit
2. There is no sound till the call is actually ongoing (the other party respond)...that means no ringing, busy tone, or whatsoever sound... I don't even know if the call is made if I'm not looking to the phone (and if it's entering power saving mode, I stare at a blank screen).
I don't have any problems of this kind using a Nokia phone and also they (especially point 2) are happening with all smartphones I've tried (WinMo or Android ones).
Is there any software (even a paid one) to outcome this?
Please don't tell me to "try" this and that, I don't want to spend money "trying" things...I would appreciate if someone had a similar problem and managed to solve it somehow.
P.S The phone is brand new (got it for 2 days by now) and it is not rooted.
P.S.2 The car kit is a "basic" one, don't have navigation, contacts downloading and all that stuff...It's a plain BT car kit, I would just like to be able to make and receive phone calls with it.
Seems like many have bad experience in making the legend and car kit work together.
As of yet I could only pair my legend with my blaupunkt audio system, but they have not yet connected each other successfully to make use of the bluetooth feature. I've had no problem at all using my audio set with my samsung galaxy spica's bluetooth. So it probably is not an android issue.
Is there anyone who didn't experience any such trouble with their legend and car audio system's bluetooth ?
To add some more details...
I search for BT devices, phone finds the Audi UHV car kit. Then I'm asked for the pairing password and I enter it, than I get that "connection sound" from the car speakers but the phone is still "connecting..." endlessly. The BT icon on the phone appears but is the standard one, no headset or car kit icon appears (does it have such an icon after all?)
From here...nothing special happens. When I make or receive a call only the phone is ringing, no sounds came from the car speakers. Only when the call is connected, then I have the bord computer showing "Call..." and the radio/CD is muted...and that's all. The conversation can be heard only into the phone not from car speakers as it was the case with the ringing tone before. When call ends, music resumes.
I am a Flash-a-Holic and have used every port available to HD2. Be it WM6, Android SD Card Builds, Android NAND Builds, WP7 Builds.
For a daily use I require the use of Bluetooth Headset for Calls when I am on the road in my car and even at work where it is usually difficult to take the phone out of my pocket for answering incoming calls, hence the Bluetooth Headset.
Although after using so many ports I sincerely think that the smoothest experience I have had on my HD2 is with the WP7 Roms, it is difficult for me to use it since Bluetooth Audio Service has some problems which I have not been able to find a solution to.
Mainly the problem is that I can hear the caller fine but my voice goes over as very choppy like the connection is breaking up or something. I have done the following in order to locate this problem:
1) Changed Bluetooth Headsets (Tried it with SE MW600, Jabra BT3030, Blackberry 665)
2) Tried all the WP7 Roms
3) Tried different SD Cards
4) Tried registry tweak suggested by XBMOD in his Rom thread
5) Tried turning off XBOX services
6) Tried toggling between 2G 3G, Data ON, Data OFF
So nothing works. My reason for starting this thread is to draw attention of the DEVs towards this issue so that they can look it over and would eventually find a solution.
Would appreciate any suggestions or workarounds that anyone has to offer.
Otherwise, thanks to all the DEVs for a brilliant WP7 Rom for our HD2's
I'm having exactly the same problem. It happens with my car blue tooth, as well as my Yabra and Plantronics headset. This thread will display a lot of the same problems:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/.../b53c64ce-30ee-4734-9dab-28ce0d561132?page=22
For me it is the only thing I'm not satisfied with on my phone, but it is important enough to maybe have to switch back to WM 6.5. I hope there will be a fix soon.
I think it has something to do with noise cancellation. When something is talking, it looks like my mic is shutting down. When there is some background noise from the other caller, my voice is scrambled badly...
I am also facing the exact problem. Sometimes it works quite good (when the other side is quite silent), but when the other caller is using his carkit or headset and thus has a lot of noise, the bluetooth voice connection keeps dropping. I can hear the other side quite good thoug.
Would the new Windows Phone 7 update fix this? This really is the one thing missing from this phone!
As far as I have read, the nodo update won't fix this problem. It is really starting to annoy me that there isn't a word from MSFT about a possible fix.... This is really unworkable...
Does MW600 works after NODO ?
Someone has test with NODO ?
I wanna buy MW600 for my Omnia 7.
