[Q] reduced volume on one side of the speaker - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

It occur after a water splash on my phone... another side was totally normal...bhow can I fix it... helppp

Power off and let it dry out for a week .
Or source a replacement speaker if its the speaker at fault and not a blown motherboard component .
Or pay for a service centre repair as its not warranty .

HTC service centre claiming damage I didn't do!

My Touch HD developed a fault with what appeared to me, after reading similar reports here, a problem with the digitiser. The touch screen would work fine until I locked it, and then after unlocking the bottom third would be out of alignment by between 5-10mm. This could be fixed by realigning but the problem would return after locking the phone.
It is still under warranty (it's 12 months old), so I sent it back to HTC for repair. They replied to say the fault is caused by damage and wasn't covered by warranty.
This was the quote for repair (£):
Level 3 - MB+LCD replacement 193.29
Level 4 - Average Repair 23.07
Level 5 - Full Plastic Refurbishment 19.74
Labour 24.00
Delivery 8.64
VAT 47.03
Total 315.77
I got back to them to ask what the damage was and they stated:
"customer abuse IW ( liquid damaged) : Replace MB , LCD and Full refurbishment."
Never has my phone at any time been in contact with water. It was returned to them by their courier so surely wouldn't have undergone any water damage in transit as couriers put them in waterproof bags so I'm objecting to their claim and want to take it further.
Does anyone have any experience of HTC repair making false claims or any advice they can give me?
There is a sticker underneath the battery, in the bottom part, that turns red when in contact with water. You should check that. It should be completely white if untouched.
Just a small thought on the water thingy. Can't help otherwise.

[Q] Non Responsive Screen

Have an HD2 here that stupidly I disassembled to replace the camera lens which after reading XDA deep enough I found out that it is replaced from the outside. Well got the phone apart and figured out that that wasn't necessary I reassembled the phone. Well in the process of getting the back off I appear to have damaged the cable the runs up the side of the screen on the volume button side. The digitizer I am told. Knowing this was beyond me I found a repair facility Mission Repair in Kansas that said they could repair it. Shipped it to them and they said that they replaced the digitizer and the lcd screen and neither one fixed the problem. They seemed truly sincere and did not charge me anything but shipping. They said must be the logic board and that was not an affordable piece to replace.
Seems strange to me that the phone was working perfectly before the cable damage that I caused. I did not approach the logic board area at all. Phone running NDT MIUI 19.1 when this happened. Any thoughts from you gurus that maybe they missed.
Thanks in advance
mayve ur ESD dammage it or u touched something and u didnt pay attention ... tru to flash the rom again or look again inside

worst xperia z3

the flaps used to protect the water from goin are very weak so after 6 months the flaps become lose and water starts goin in and u wont even know and then ur phone dies suddenly and when u go to customer care they say that we must hav not closed the flap properly and but even if we tell them it was closed propely they say the water intrugen paper is red so it is out of water but these guys never tell u that the flaps girp is gone so i repaired my phone paying 16000Rs when still under warranty of 5 months after that i put in water it again in water the water was inside the phone the first tym after repair and its horizontel segment of the screen is not working.so then i came to know that the flaps were faulty i went again to customer service center he says water has gone in n the paper is red so ur phone is out of warranty i told him flaps are faulty n he tell to call customer care n then customer care tell THAT IT IS MY FAULT THAT THE FLAPS ARE FAULTY I SHOLUD KNOW THAT THE FLAPS ARE FAULT and this is how the cheat people and make money buy geting cheap parts and and stating that is not there fault.
that was sad part nw the joke part
when i went to sony service center i told him i had put my phone in water ... which water ... normal tap water in the sinc not more then 15 cm and only for 30 sec REPLY : No sir u can not put ur phone in water for this long .... i was like what ... the service center is also not aware of T & C and what good services they will do to the customer..
Main problem : IF THE WATER INTRUGEN PAPER IS RED ITS OUT OF WARRNTY NO MATTER WHAT THE PROBLEM IS ..IT OUT ..
Conclusion : BUYING A Z XERIES PHONE IS A RISK COZ IT IS EXPENSIVE AND WHAT EVER MAY HAPPEN CUSTOMER IS WRONG ..CUSTOMER CARE IS RIGHT......
That's like driving a car under warranty without noticing that the tire treads have worn and then blaming the dealership when you get into an accident.
You should check the condition of the rubber on the flaps or do a simple pressure test before exposing it to water.
Complain by Sony like sending them a mail !!
XDA cant solve your problem or frustration.

The flaps do not necessarily have to go bad, often it's just dirt and grime preventing the seal.
I charge my Z3 with the magnetic cable to reduce flap stress.
You can also check the seal if you follow this thread

Your warranty is NOT VOID if the screen is cracked and your motherboard fails.

I have just spent all day on the phone after the service center and LG tried telling me that the screen being cracked voids the warranty even though it's a known issue that the G4 has motherboard failures constantly. Their warranty says that physical damage is not covered under warranty. that does not mean that the warranty is void if there's a dent in the phone and the motherboard failed because they already know that they fail. don't let anyone tell you otherwise, LG just gave me a reference number to give to the service center telling them to just change the board and don't touch the screen. the service center tried telling me that since it's cracked and they go in and try changing it, the display will shatter which is total BS. what happened to common sense?
so if your G4 has started bootlooping and you cracked the glass, you still have warranty! don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
If they said they can shatter the display while replacing the motherboard this has to be really sh*t service tho, I already disassembled like 10 times and its still in perfect condition. BTW I don't have the warranty on my phone so LG gave me phone number to SBE - their recommended 3rd party repair service where you can repair your phone. The funny thing is that when I called them first thing they asked me was is my phone under warranty or not. Like wtf, if it was I wouldn't call u... Any way they refused to repair my phone because 'its too expensive'. I emailed LG about it, still waiting for response. #WTFLG

No, they mean removing the CRACKED display could cause further damage, which is quite true, it could happen.
Don't you just remove the board from the back of the display?
I thought that for this repair process the only contact you have with the screen is unplugging the ribbon cable, your screen must already be falling apart if that would cause it further damage.
you can clearly see in this picture that you don't even need to touch the screen to pull the motherboard out. aren't these retards supposed to be technicians for a living? pretty much every phone is like this now.
It's to cover their own rear. In the case that the screen does get worse due to a step in the repair process such as during delivery, transfer, or repair. The customer won't throw a fit saying it's their fault and they need to replace their screen now too.

Front Glass replacement question

Hello everyone. So here am I, with a gorgeous S7 edge. The thing made it that some weeks ago this glass thing slipped through my fingers (even tough I had a case on it) and if felt exactly on one of the lower end corners, crackind it's screen. It's not a big deal, just 1-2 inches there, but the problem is that it is. And I struggled to hold on with this visual problem (since the display is fortunately intact), I still want to replace it's glass.
Well, since in my country the screen replacement almost costs half of the price I gave on this phone, I started to have different questions about the repairing, the most important of all being this one: Will replacing the glass remove it's water ingress protection? The repair shop advertises that it offers lamination as repair process, wich in theory should maintain the water protection, but since I can't find any certain answer to this question, I am hoping to find it somewhere here. So, anyone who replaced their phone's glass still has water protection or not? Thanks for checking by, and any answer will be greatly appreciated.
PS: Happy holidays to everyone. :victory:
Front glass cannot be replaced WITHOUT DAMAGING THE SCREEN, so you had to live with it, or go to authorized samsung repair center and give them the fee for glass repair, if your screen is damaged during replacing they MAY OR MAY NOT fix it for free depending on your country. As far as water protection, only samsung repair center can guarantee the water protection after repair. Can't say anything about local repair shops.

Ok, thanks for the info. Well, many repair stores in my local area now are repairing the glass without damaging the screen, and they guarantee the success, damaging the display (if it's the case) being paid from their side. I was just wondering if it's a posibility to maintain the water resitance after the repair, but I'll try to contact a samsung repair center and a local shop to see the fees and the posibility exists.

No one can guarantee this bro, even newly box packed phone cannot guarantee water resistance* as water resistance is NOT by any means waterproofed. Good luck

what u talkin? I've had glass replaced, The glue is removed with very cold temperature, without damaging screen.
any repair dont guarantee waterproof, even when original.
I've paid about 120$ in Poland for oca film. if you have courage nad ability to change it yourself, then repair would cost about 10$
When you go to Samsung they will replace both glass and display , the will re waterproof your phone as a policy , Everytime they open up the phone it has to be waterproofed .
