i've also tried with PDAnet app but it not worked too... may be my firewall ?

USB Tethering works just fine in my Nexus 4.
I tested it under Ubuntu. I don't know if with other operating systems works too.

The stock option works fine for me. Am I right that you would need to check "USB debugging" in the developer options for it to work though?

USB mass storage not work on Mac

I can connect the i9000 to my PC using mass storage mode and see it as an USB disk, but it doesn't work on my Mac, it recognize nothing (I have chosen to mount the drive after connected to the USB as I did the same when connecting to Windows). I can see there is a Samsung USB device connected in the System Profiler but the disk won't mount, any clues?
Thanks.
I have the very same problem. Works in PC, not on my iMac.
You need to enable USB debugging and after that it will work.

Yep. Speaking as a Mac OS X user I can confirm this works.
The is no way to flash from a Mac though. However, I have high hopes for ROM Manager

Of course it's to be done on the phone. Sorry, I should have been more specific.
I've enabled USB Debugging and can't get my mac to recognize my phone to use it as a USB storage device?!?! I'm running ICS 4.0.3 XXLPB. I didn't have any problem at first with GB. Any suggestions? Thanks! =)
EDIT: Silly me, wrong forum my phone is i9100.... Still would appreciate any help.

Do you have USB Debugging enabled? Are you using MTP when you connect the cable? If so you can't. You need to change it from MTP and use Internet and then Ethernet. Once you do that you should see USB Debugging pop up in your notification bar. Once you see that you should be able to use helium.

USB Tether

Hi guys, I am having trouble using the USB tether feature on my I9505, it is fully stock on 4.3 on build number MK8. All the USB drivers and Kies 3 are installed on my Windows 7 32bit laptop and i can see my device when i go to "Computer". I am using the original cable that came with my S4 and the USB tether is still not working, even the Wi-Fi hotspot is not working unless i use an app called "FoxFi". Does anyone have any idea how i can get the USB tether to work? I've tried using apps called "PdaNet+" and "EasyTether" and still nothing.

did you do a clean uninstall of the drivers and then reinstall?
What type of connection is set in Settings -> Storage -> USB Computer connection?

Cannot connect through Android File Transfer on Mac

For some reason, when my Nexus 4 with stock 4.4.4 (rooted with TWRP) is connected through USB cable to my Mac desktop with Android File Transfer, the connection cannot be established. The message says:
Could not connect to device
Try reconnecting or restarting your device
The strange thing is that 1) I can connect to my Nexus 4 through adb with no problem; 2) I have no trouble at all connecting my Nexus 10 with stock 4.4.4 (rooted with TWRP) to my Mac through Android File Transfer. Anyone know what could be the issue with my Nexus 4?

Have you checked if it is using MTP instead of PTP? MTP is the correct option to use with Android File Transfer.

Thanks for the help! My N4 has been set with MTP all the time, so that is not the cause for the problem.

Few things come to mind.
1. go PTP and then return to MTP
2. Disable USB Debug and re-enable (or enable then disable, if that suits better your situation)
3. "Revoke USB debugging authorizations" also at Developer Options.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Just tried all the three things, but unfortunately the problem remains. Really puzzled by this: my Nexus 10 has basically the same setup and connects fine with my Mac.

My knowledge for in-system solutions has come to an end. I can only think now of (1) cleaning cache and dalvik cache, (2) factory reset and (3) factory restore via factory image.
Are you willing to take this route?
