DO NOT REBOOT after and every flashing
follow this,,

2. EXTRACT boot.img FILE FROM Merruk Technology 2.0.tar To sd card Root
3. GO TO RECOVERY MODE THEN GO CMW RECOVERY
4. IN CMW CHOOSE install zip from SdCard SELECT kernel update.zip AND FLASH IT. (it will search boot.img and flashes it automatically)
3. BACKUP YOUR ROM IN CMW (after finished DO nOT REBOOT)
5. IN CMW FLASH Elite-modules.zip (DO NOT REBOOT)
6. NOW FLASH Ext4-Converter-signed.zip in CMW.(this is the merruk2.5) DO NOT REBOOT
8. In Cmw GO TO backup/restore
»Select Advance Restore
» Restore System , data & cache
Do Not Restore boot img and sd-ext. (AFTER FINISHED the 3 FILES,, DO NOT WIPE DATA AND CACHE)

First of all thnx for helping me!
2ndly, i did the same steps on hyperion rom 7.x
( NO REBOOTS )
but still got the same boot loop, i mean I waited for 5 mins, but nothing happened.
Then i tried to install the merruk kernel of Hyperion 7 GM FINAL.
I did the same as u told, but when i was restoring the system, it gave an error.
Now Iam again flashing Hyperion 7.X and again flashing Merruk Kernel.
this i will wait for 10 - 15 mins after applying the whole procedure. Lets pray :S
WOOOOHOOOOOOO ! !!!
MAN.. I think, ur procedure was wrong..
I simple flashed hyperion rom 7.x
then made its backup.. and then installed merruk kernel 2.5 and elite modules ..
and then restored sytem data cache..
and boot succeed
THANX ALOT ...
ok...ok....ok..
i think u just right,,,one xda member flash the same way just like yours and he did succed,,
but i my case i use my steps to hyperion and ussr and i succed,,
on the second thought,, maybe MT2.0 PRE is not required to flash after all, because MT2.5 ext4 converter signed.zip has a boot.img..LOL
what do you think,,
my procedures is took by mai,,
Yeah Rite.. btw tell me 1 thing, is there any solution of this..
when iam over with my mob, and make it lock, (SCREEN OFF) , then when i press the menu button , it takes more tym to show the screen. why is that so :S and how to overcome it.. iam using cpu tuner ..
that normal,, cause mt2.5 has wakeclock issue

kimerika.. tell me 1 thing man ..
now i want some customization in my STATUS BAR..
i want yellow colored battery icon and signal and wifi icon..
what the problem is, i tried status bar greper 1.8, and found some icons for signal and battery from the internet..
But due to status bar greper 1.8 , i can't change wifi icon :S
and with some patches that include status bar greper 1.8, by them, wifi icon gets hide :S i can't see it on the status bar..
leave it..
just help me in getting yellow coloured battery icon, signal icon and wifi icon :/
My own !
When i flashed Hyperion 7 GM i first go on overclocking...
So this is the procedure i did...
1.Download PDA_merruk.tar and Ext4 converter.zip
2.Place Ext4 converter.zip in the root of your SD Card and place PDA_merruk.tar to your computer...(anywhere you like!)
3.Boot into CWM
4.Go to Backups and Storage and do a Backup
5.Go to Install zip from SD Card and choose zip from SD Card
6.Find Ext4 converter.zip
7.Flash it !
8.After that reboot
9.It will stuck on bootlogo so don't worry just remove the battery and insert it again..
10.Go to ODIN Mode (Volume Down,Home Key and Power Button)
11.Then press Volume up when the ODIN Mode shows up..
12.Get your USB Cable then insert it to your computer...
13.When you see the 0:[COM:XX] it means that your SGY is connected
14.Go to PDA then choose PDA_merruk.tar
15.Then press START
16.After that it will say PASS! and remove your SGY
17.You will need to remove and insert your battery again
18.Use the three button combo !
19.You will see the permanent CWM..
20.Go to Backups and Restore and Choose Advance Restore then choose the backup that day then restore system ONLY!
21.After the Restore go Wipe Data/Factory Reset
22.Wipe Cache
23.Go to Advanced then choose Wipe Dalvik Cache
24.Wide Battery Stats
25.Reboot system then you are good to go !
Works Always and NEVER fails me ! (works also on stock ROM!)
You will also get overclocked after doing this steps BTW !
Notes :
1.Must have 100% battery life
2.Must have ODIN 1.85
3.Must have Samsung Drivers
You can all get these files from Mr. Google
Required files :
Ext4 converter.zip
PDA_merruk.tar
ODIN 1.85

Yeah im with you. If the dalvik cache is the prob, just wipe it under ADVANCED...if u can backup but you're having what i think is known as a 'bootloop' however, then just go to your recovery menu and WIPE DATA/RESTORE FACTORY DATA

just instal custom zip

Hi Guru's ,
Sounding verry n00bish yes but halp needed
my HTC TYTN II had no secrets anymore for me so it was time to upgrade
I read up on kernels flashing etc and then descided to get on it
got Odin , insecure kernel (CF-Root 4.0.0.2) , and a rom (was villain 3.0)
did it all correct , kernel ok , yellow triangle and original os booted up ok
CWM , clear all and reset etc , install zip , succesfully and reboot
sticks in reboot , endless yellow triangle ...
oh wel , np , i'll redo it from original
all steps ok untill other rom , bam , stuck in boot
crap , so , again
I now descided to go for the CM 7.1 that was just launched "stable"
Other CWM and kernel from their Wiki , gives me a insecure boot (triangle) to original and ok
into CWM (4.0.1.5) , all steps again , install zip from sd card , no zip (while its on for sure !)
formatted all known formats and put zip on , doesn't see it
was pissed like **** then and re-done it serveral times , no go
tried , from stock again and again to get it working
and found the intermediate problem , CWM 4.0.1.5 !
did the >CF rooot 4.0.0.2 etc and found the zip on card that 4.0.1.5 didn't never see (wtf ?)
tried CM 7.1 then , succesfully ... reboot , nope stays booting yellow triangle
tried 2 other rom's then and a nightly CM 7.1 with the CF-root also , no show
what am I doing wrong , does anyone recognise this ?
and maybe this post is better to be in Q&A I now think
Welcome to the S2 community
So, CM 7.1 sitting on yellow triangle happened to me too, be sure to:
from clockworkmod recovery:
Wipe data/cache (factory reset)
Wipe cache
advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
mount & Storage -> format system
Then flash cm 7.1 again.
If it still sit down on yellow triangle, redo all the above, yes also the flashing (for the 2nd time in a row, i know) , and usually it will finally reboot in a working CM 7.1
Let me know if this helped or not
And yes, better in Q&A
Thx for the welcome
Let me go and redo this exactly as you said right now

yes, As For my above instructions, seems for some reason 2x flash in a row are needed. But from when i format system, it works in a single flash
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yup, definitely need to flash the CM7 package twice in a row. My trick is to flash it once, then reboot into CWM again and flash the package again! Hope it all goes well for you.
I can happely confirm doing it all twice exactly in a row does the trick
Cm 7.1 (nightly 82) running smoothly
Can anyone confirm my idea on following :
when I start configuring contacts mailsettings etc and save then
Then do a nandroid backup (via cwm the same ???)
And I put a new rom or newer version of rom on it
If I restore , does it restore everything as a "mirror" or just the settings i made
If everything , is there a program that does what I mentioned (just the personal settings mailsettings ed ?
If you backup your ROM using CWM Nandroid recovery (booted using the volume up + home + power button combo), you will have a mirror image of everything on your phone right now. A Titanium Backup is useful if you were to transfer your user apps from one ROM to another after a full wipe; wise to do a full wipe moving from a different ROM to another.
You can restore your CWM Nandroid backup in case anything happens.
Another point I would like to add is if you are updating from an earlier version of CM7, you can just flash the upate package without any wipe. You will not loose data in the process.

Downloaded HYPERION Final Build 6, flashed to my SGY(stock rom and kernel:S5360_DXLF2_OLBLG1_DXLF1) using CWM with success and then choose to reboot the system but stuck in boot screen.
I leave my phone and waited for several minutes but still no joy. Used Odin 3.65 to recover the system and restore the stock rom and then flash again the HYPERION ROM but still no luck.
Please help guys....
If you get stuck at the logo screen try using a different compilation of CMW.
If you meet bootloop try wiping cache and Dalvik cache.

There's oneby skins and one by madteam. Search and you'll find it. Btw, flash to stock rom using Odin (if you're on a custom rom) before flashing hyperion.

after flashing DXLF1, try flashing EVO-X2.1 first then Hyperion (that's what I did). I used Merruk's CWM it has a much cleaner interface. :3
first flash stock dxlf
then if youre succesfull go to stock rom home screen
reboot recovery clear data factory reset and cache on stock recovery
then apply root update.zip (file you need to root ur phone)
next open cwm clear data and cache again
after that install hyperion then donot reboot and donot apply any update (must be later after succes install)
clear data and cache again in cwm
then reboot recovery clear data and cache again
then reboot wait for a while
thats my step and now im using hyperion smoothly

Link2SD and App2SD requires EXT3 partitioning on your SD card so you can have an extension of your phone memory on your SD card.
Swapper does the same, you need a nameless partition that your phone can put swap files into so as to reduce RAM usage.
Chainfire 3d requires plugins to properly function. It may be installed but not functional due to the fact that you may not have installed any plugins.
So link2sd ad swapper requires partitioning (theres a guide for that) and chainfire 3d requires plugins (google it)

This is what I did - (hope this will help)
1. Flash your SGY to baseband DXLF1/DXLF2 via odin
2. Root it.
3. Reboot to Recovery Mode --> do data reset at wipe cache (2x each)
4. Flash Hyperion via CWM
5. After installation, still in CWM go to advance --> reboot recovery --> then flash kernel via CWM
6. After kernel installs, do data reset, wipe cache 2x AGAIN, then --> go to advance --> wipe dalvik 2x also
7. Then REBOOT (wait 2-4mins until cellphone fully starts)

Flash your phone to base DXLF1 and try installing Hyperion from there. if you still have trouble installing the ROM, try flashing DXLF1 then install EVO-X2.1 then Hyperion (that's what I did)
also you don't need a pre-rooted phone. installation of Hyperion automatically roots your phone. and if you did a fresh flash and haven't booted up your phone (after Odin flashing, immediately booted to Recovery then CWM Recovery) then you don't have to do a data reset or cache wipe, your phone after flashing stock rom is already as good as wiped and reset.
and you can flash Hyperion from either CWM or Stock Recovery. but the flashing of EVO-X2.1 requires CWM. I forgot if EVO needs root, but you can check that out on the developers page (too lazy to add link )
first flash stock dxlf
then if youre succesfull go to stock rom home screen
reboot recovery clear data factory reset and cache on stock recovery
then apply root update.zip (file you need to root ur phone)

you may immediately flash to DXLF1. just go to download mode without doing anything. Like I said, flashing stock roms is as good as getting your phone right from the factory.
after flashing to DXLF1 you may retry flashing Hyperion. if that doesn't work, then refer to my previous post on what I did.
