Hello!
Some time ago I replace the touch screen, but when I turned on the PDA, it would not start. With Windows booted normally, but did not register the camera. With Android would not start. After several attempts I remove the camera and it started normally. The camera and flexible were replaced with new ones, but there was no difference. I have no camera currently installed. Anyone have idea that what is happening?
(sorry for my English. I'm from Argentina).
Thank you!
IMO is something wrong with your main-flexboard connector on motherboard: in the process of replacing touchscreen, maybe you affected somehow that connector, its connection to motherboard or connector itself.
In order to check that:
1. you should replace your main-flexboard with an working one(even yours is new, it can be already faulty, trust me , I know what I'm talking!), after you've installed an original(WM) ROM;
OR
2. use your main-flexboard with another working motherboard and see what happens;
OR
3. go to a service shop (which has a powerful magnifier or even a microscope) or use yourself such a tool and study your connection(soldering) of your main-flexboard connector to motherboard and the pins inside connector itself.
These 3 options should clarify what part of your HD2 is faulty.
Good luck!

Hey Volks,
Today i realized strange display issues with my HTC Touch HD. The ROM on it was original by the Provider (Telekom Germany) so i doubt it is a Flashing issue. I attached a screenshot for reference. Now my question: Seems this to be a hardware or software issue? Is flashing something that could solve this issue? If it is a hardware issue, would it be a good idea to repair it by myself? (i'm not complete stupid ) - What needs to be replaced? It seems that the touchscreen himself is working (pixels changing when pressing on the display).
Greetz,
Matthias
hi dude,
this seems to look like a hardware issue.
but..
i would flash a new rom or hard reset to check if it is software issue.
if the problem still exists after a reflash or hard reset, i would open your device and have a look for the problem yourself (its not rocket science )
you want to check the ribbons that connect the LCD to the motherboard.
(ribbons are clamped to motherboard so make sue you unclip the clamps that hold the ribbon in place, now check them for damage, dust or dirt)
be carefull though because the ribbons can break easily, trust me
after cleaning the ribbons, checking for damage etc, if device is still displaying like pic, i would buy a new LCD.
(ebay is the best place to go for a new LCD, it is best to buy an original LCD btw)
Hi,
Drop my a500 in the hardwood floor, about 2 to 3 feet i think, and my a500 is inside the acer official case,, so i thought it is nothing to bother about.. test it everything works as the i open my camera to check, then the problems struck..
the front is fine but the back one is not..
So my question is... I see green and a lot of distorting lines,, when i take a picture it is all green..(Back Camera)
so should i replace it?? i mean buy a new parts
(if so where could i find or bought one of the camera)
(i did try to google it but i didn't find any)
or the camera just need a reset i mean pry open the a500, dissemble the board, remove the camera from it's connector the reconnect it again?
Thank you...
Sorry to re-ignite an old thread, but....
I'm having the same issue with mine. I've read elsewhere it can happen if the tablet gets a knock from the wrong angle, it loosens the ribbon cable to the camera slightly.
Did you ever get this fixed? If not, watch this space as I am going to investigate the internals myself...
Problem Solved....so far anyway.....
After stripping and rebuilding my A500 I can tell you that, so far as I can tell, I have solved the problem.
The rear camera module seems to be very loosely attatched to the motherboard by a pushfit connection (like laptop dial-up modems are connected).
The process went as follows:
1) I removed the camera module
2) I checked the connections were not damaged
3) I checked that the plastic cradle that supports the module on the motherboard for fit and position
4) I replaced the camera module, making sure it was CORRECTLY ALIGNED BEFORE pushing it back down
5) As an extra precaution before reassembly, I taped the module down to the board from the socket side, just in case it ever decides to dislodge again.
6) Reassemble the tablet.
Whether it was the strip and rebuild that corrected the problem or the NECESSARY reset via the tiny reset button (it wouldn't reboot without resetting, probably due to the battery removal on strip down), I'm not sure but the problem seems to have rectified itself for now.
If it ever happens again, I'll repost here to confirm that it was the hard reset that helped.
For anyone that has problems with their A500/A501, here is a link to the service manual hosted online

Hi i have a htc hd2 with gingerbread, my brother replaced my screen and it work fine the first time with the only problem that you see light in the corners because it didnt fit properly to the frame,
2 he tried to fix it so he used some glue when i turned on it freezed when booting and the color white was showing pink
3 he took it apart again to put it like the first time and it work but now the speaker stoped working so i used it like that for 3 weeks
4 then i told him if he could check the speaker so he took it apart again with no luck and now it freezes again when booting we have tried to find the problem with no luck
do someone have any clue for what is causing the problem please help me
another thing since replacing the screen the first time you turn on the phone has to be with the ac cable because it wont do nothing with the on button after that the button works fine
hope someone can help me and sorry for my poor english
it seems like you might have a loose cable connection somewhere, like the loose flex ribbon or broken sockets. Your only bet is to disassemble your HD2 and assemble it,but this time around, you might want to do it according to proven methods and go step by step. Refer to the links below to help you:
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-HTC-HD2-PB81120-Screen/5651/2
http://pocketnow.com/hardware-1/official-htc-hd2-disassembly-assembly-training-videos-leaked
if proper disassembly and assembly do not work, then im afraid you have to replace your flex ribbon or get a new screen. it is often hard to troubleshoot what exactly is causing the problem unless you see a visual break in connections. take a really close look at all the connectors that are involved with the screen: the locks, sockets and cables.
do try the above and good luck. hope this helps.

Hello, guys.
Several days ago I bought HD2 with cracked screen, also stuck in Android bootloop (some Cyanogenmod ROM)
I don't even planned to make it work normally, planned to use it as spare parts for another HD2, but after reflash to a stock 3.14 - it booted up normally.
But Wi-Fi is dead, it simply doesn't turn on.

Anyway, I will replace display module as soon as it arrive to me.
So, does anyone have suggestions? Something tells me, it's a HW problem, not SW. Now device is dissasembled.
And there is no visible damage near Broadcom chip or somewhere else. No corrosion, no cracks, no overheating marks. Nothing.
Bluetooth is working normally, despite it's the same IC.
Any help is appreciated...

could be something regarding to your wifi antenna in your housing, the connector to it, or coaxial cable to the mainboard
Hi
I have an issue with my small redmi 4a.
Some times ago the phone felt down and the lcd broke and the backight started to stay always on if screen is off.
So I decided to change the lcd and I bought one with the whole frame.
Now the lcd glass is perfect, but I still get the backlight always on when screen is off, so it seems something in the boards or in the connections between board and the lcd.
What can I check more?
Thanks
Try a hard reset.
Make sure no ribbon cable micro connector contacts were damaged during the repair. That all grounds and connectors are connected. Sometimes these connections are made by direct physical contact between subassemblies; eyeball it carefully for contact pads.
Check the mobo very carefully for damage or debris. A PC trace or component solder joint maybe broken or less likely shorted by debris.
If it's a trace or surface mount solder jiont it may be very hard to find if at all.
IDing where the backlight driver is/where it gets its high/low signal from the mobo would help you narrow down the area hopefully.
It's also possible the backlight driver control circuit was blown.
Thanks for the reply @blackhawk
The issue was there previously to my repair, so probably happened when the phone felt down and the screen broke.
There are two boards, one in the upper side and one in the bottom side of the phone.
Do you think there is something wrong in the main (upper) board or the bottom one?
Just to concentrate on one...
Thanks again!
Really strange...
It seems not to be an hw issue.
I jest flashed, with Miflash, MIUI 9.2 Global and now the backlight does not show anymore.
Previously I was on Resurrection Remix (8.6.4) Android 10 and tried also the Android 9 version....
So I decided to try again to install RR with Android 10 and now all works fine.
Probably the MIUI installation via MiFlash repair something went wrong previously...
Excellent!
That's hella better than trying to track down a PCB issue.
Didn't know your were mucking with the firmware, lol the usual suspect
Put a good case on the puppy if you can... as you see now how convoluted it can get.
