HD2 Wi-Fi Problem (Doesn't turn on at all) - HD2 General

Hello, guys.
Several days ago I bought HD2 with cracked screen, also stuck in Android bootloop (some Cyanogenmod ROM)
I don't even planned to make it work normally, planned to use it as spare parts for another HD2, but after reflash to a stock 3.14 - it booted up normally.
But Wi-Fi is dead, it simply doesn't turn on.

Anyway, I will replace display module as soon as it arrive to me.
So, does anyone have suggestions? Something tells me, it's a HW problem, not SW. Now device is dissasembled.
And there is no visible damage near Broadcom chip or somewhere else. No corrosion, no cracks, no overheating marks. Nothing.
Bluetooth is working normally, despite it's the same IC.
Any help is appreciated...

could be something regarding to your wifi antenna in your housing, the connector to it, or coaxial cable to the mainboard

Help Please Hermes won't turn on.

ok so what happened was is that i dropped my phone although when i looked at it it seemed fine, not even a scratch, calling worked...but a couple of hours later i got no signal in this place although my dad had signal and we're on the same network and we have the same phone too. I received signal as soon as I left the place.
And here is where my problem comes, everything was working fine and i had my phone in my pocket for the whole day cause i was at school and after school i decided to take a look at the time, but my phone was off and wouldn't turn on, but i expected that it ran out of battery.
I got home and tried charging it, but nothing happened, so i decided to use my dad's battery (fully charged) it still wouldn't turn on, i've tried soft/hard resets still nothing.
can it be the hardware? what is broken? it won't turn on/won't charge/no led lights/no red led when charging without battery/ nothing so what is wrong please help.
Probably battery contacts... If you can see a crack, you might be able to resolder them and fix however the Hermes uses a multi layered board and if the break is there then you need a new mainboard, in a few words, your Hermes is toast....
is there any possible fix? if the board is broken, where can i get a replacement and instruction on how to fix? thanks :]
Find an old Hermes on ebay. If the screen doesn't work or something, DON'T get one with "No GSM", then you should be able to replace the Mainboard.
Find the HTC Service Manual here - http://michael-channon.spaces.live.com/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1
You need a size 6 torque key and a small flatbladed screwdriver to get the Mainboard. Pretty easy, I've taken my Hermes apart more times than I can count.
Cheers...
thanks for the help so far :]
but is there a site that just sells the part? cause i really don't want to end up buying a mainboard on ebay that ends up not working too.

hd2 stuck in carkit mode

erhm....
my hd2 is somehow stuck in carkit mode, right after completely booting up it turns to carkit mode.
i've allready tried a few roms and it keeps comming back, so my guesses are that it's a hardware problem, anyone familiar with this problem?
I had the exact same problem with my HD2, this issue might have been caused by various reasons. You either have dust/dirt on your sensors or the sensors are damaged.
Try disassembling your device and cleaning them, if that don't work try an android Nand ROM, on some of them you have the option to disable the sensors and you don't have to deal with Navitel. I've been experiencing this problem long time now.. going Android was the only option I had left.
In a lot of cases this was caused by a dodgy USB socket, so before dismantling the phone, give the USB a clean with a dry toothbrush
Lol, never thought I'd see a reply on this thread
But the problem got solved over time, so O guess the sensor was dirty.
Anyway my hd2's antenna is almost dead so I was forced to change my daily device.
But android anyway is a very nice solution for the hd2's life in general
A fully tweaked up hd2 isn't much slower than my current stock One X
I guess time will tell how this phone will end up XD

Galaxy s4 almost bricked

Hello. I want to start off and say that even tho i used a lot of phones Samsung fits me bets. With that in mind i want to tell the story of my broken s4 i9505. I bought it new and used it about 2 years until i got and iphone 5s. The phone remaind in a drawer with the intention of selling some time but forgot about it, then i used the phone once a week or so paired with moto 360 because iphone could not connect and used the watch only for time .(bluetooth worked fine remember this). Anyway i decided to sell it and i had all my apps and accounts in there so i thought the fastest way was to factory reset it and make it fresh so i can sell it (rom was not stock at the moment, i have no ideea what rom it was). I sold it to a friend that told me he wanted to pair something with it thru bluetooth and bluetooth didnt work...i sayd that it wasnt possible because all i did was a factory reset and that couldn't damage anything. Things got worse as the phone was charging very very slow and if it got over 90% baterry would not respond to anything (red led at 90% and got to green when full but still no response from phone) and the only thing to do is to remove battery. Then i took the phone back, got it a new battery but that didn't changed anything, took it to some repairs shops that didn't ever hear about this problem, i had it chance the software but that didn't do anything. The problem i suspect it is and i saw a few other posts online was the bluetooth module would stop working for some reason and do this to the phone. Currently i don't know what to do with it and i don't want to sell it just for part for 50 euros or so. Also i read that the bluetooth module can't really be changed as a spare part because it's part of the motherboard and that means almost all the phone. Phone is in mint condition, i didn't damage it before the sell , the buyer didn't damage it or messed with the rom...Another thing i noticed is that in settings under bluetooth address says unavailable. Can someone please help me ? I can provide more information about serials and stuff if needed. Also wi-fi doesn't work now.
Mine also show unavailable under Bluetooth address, but it works.
Are you currently on the stock rom?
Yes is stock. Android version 5.0.1 I9505XXUHOJ2. If i toggle bluetooth on says starting bluetooth then after 5 seconds it disables. I guess the problem is from hardware not software. So fast battery drain is not normal something is using a lot of energy.
As far as I know, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules are in the same physical chip, therefore something might be physically broken. Here's a clip I came across while trying to fix my phone's Wi-Fi and I think it's exactly what might fix yours. (Should be very cheap to do too.) I think basically what he's doing is putting some flux on the board then reflowing it with the hot air gun.
Before taking that step, be sure to exhaust the possible software fixes. I'm not sure, but updating the bootloader and modem MIGHT fix it.
My wi-fi started working again it just took a while but the bluetooth does exactly the same as in the clip so maybe that's the problem. I don't understand why does so glue over it make it work...also for me it's hard to turn the phone off because the screen goes black but the blue led still stays on and the only way to turn it off completly is to take out battery. Maybe this will solve the battery problem aswell ?

Strange black screen issue with fully working screen (electrical, not physical).

Hi,
i bought a factory refurbished I9600F from aliexpress. It worked great for 3 days, then the phone became slow to respond, the screen was flickering in yellow-green tones, and then wouldn't come back on but stay black. (but I would still get notification sounds for incoming messages, the notification LED was still working, and the menu keys also light up when I press home/power).
Pulling the battery fixed the issue once, but the problem came back after 1 hour.
I managed to revive the phone once more by pulling the battery and holding the power button to drain all remaining power in the device. The phone was working again for a few hours, but now it's back to having a black screen and even the power drain method doesn't work anymore...
So i'm guessing that replacing the screen won't fix the issue, since the screen is working just fine for a a while (both image and touch are perfect) - but then somehow there must be some electrical issue that causes the graphics unit to malfunction.
I checked the easily accessible connector to the left side of the battery, but it seems that the screen is mainly connected via flex cables that cannot be accessed unless you heat up your device and pry out the screen.
I have found some information on the internet that pressing hard on the spot where the flex cable connector is might fix the problem, but this didn't work for me.
FYI, I'm running the default Samsung firmware the device shipped with and used Kies + OTA update to get the latest official FW. No rooting or any other mods. Just some regular apps installed.
Any recommendation what I could try to fix this problem? Thank you all!!!
BTW, I have found similar reports on the internet here:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s5/405238-galaxy-s5-static-screen-won-t-turn.html
But the linked how-to-fix guide states that heating up the display assembly is only recommended on devices with a broken screen... So now I don't want to risk breaking my working screen.
So mainly my options are
a) open the device to check the flex cable connection
b) buy a new battery to see if that solves if (some people have reported success with a different battery)
c) buy a new screen assembly on aliexpress for around €135 and hope that a new screen will fix it...
Thoughts?

sorry, i actually never was able to get this resolved. I tried removing the screen to get to the flex cable, but broke the screen because I hadn't heated up the glue enough...
Had to buy another device.
Sorry I don't have better news...

I'm going find out the cause for this issue. I've disassembled one device that only lights up when it is warm. If I put it in the cooler it refuses to light up for some time after that. I tried placing only the screen in the cooler, also only the phone body in the cooler, but couldn't find any difference doing this as it refuses to light up both times for a couple of minutes then it works great again.
I've ordered another device that had its screen shattered so I will try my current screen on that device.
It could be some internal hardware fault in the mobo, it could be the LCD connector having a bad connection somehow, it could be the screen assembly itself, but I will find out eventually.
I've seen many places on the internet where people say this is a software issue. There is a very simple answer to that question. How could it be a software issue if not even the boot logo shows up when you start the phone?
I will keep this thread updated.
Verified that this is a problem with the motherboard. What circuit on the motherboard could have problems with cold temperatures? The main power one? If so, I will try replacing it with a different one.
Update: Was not able to fix it. Motherboard is now scrap.

HTC HD2 Touch screen stopped working

So I bought a HD2 with bad touch screen. The issue was the very common one that every one knows, red button that was poking into the touch screen flex cable. I opened up the phone and fixed the issue and touch screen was working perfectly fine. In the process, unfortunately, I chipped a little edge of the front glass/digitizer. It was not a big deal as phone was still working fine. But I decided to buy a new front glass.
When my new front glass arrived, I separated the digitizer/front glass from LCD, but then half of my LCD got corrupted. So I ended up buying an LCD too!!!
Now comes the issue: when I put the phone together, touch screen doesn't work at all. I have tried all combinations of NEW / OLD digitizer and NEW / OLD lcd. Nothing works. I wonder if anyone can help me figure out why?
P.S. When testing, I happened to connect the phone to my 5w wall charger directly connecting it to power pins (without battery installed). Would that be why I lost touch? Is the touch issue now because of motherboard that was directly connected to adapter, not getting power from its designated battery?
have you tried the old lcd with old digitizer (which was working)?
tried it before replacing?
did you made some change to the software before replacing?
I currently have this problem too while trying to revive my old- almost 3 years inactive- HD2 with new touchscreen, and still trying to figure out where is the problem

Yes I had tried the old LCD, and that didn't work either.
I installed a WiFi Keyboard on it.
Did you resolve this issue?
