That will not work with the Verizon model. The modems and kernels are different.

I don't know..
I would assume Rodderick just doesn't know what he doesn't know.
That is to say, he is playing it safe.
see Adam's thread on unbrickablemod

It seems one ROM fits all CDMA models.
In fact all the CM9/CM10 custom ROM never differentiate the two, and all will be stamped as SCH-I800
But then again...
It is your tab, so it is your risk..
Looks like I found a stock Hemidall image. Going to try it when the download completes.

Okay, the Sprint image unbricked it but now I have no mobile data.
what baseband is it now?
and have you manually apply the modems from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069727
In his changelog, DarkPal mentioned adding VzW modem, but I can't see other than Sprint.
and what about the link you posted above from bergfiles , what modem is in there?
Edit: this thread has a guy that use SCH-I500 modems and works

Edit2: another stock SCH-I800 for you to try

Hey guys,
Long time lurker here, I flashed back to stock 2.3.6 carrier firmware (telstra in AUS) about 3 days ago because I feared my phone had the infamous USB port error (random charging without charger plugged in and other related issues) and I might have had to return it for warranty.
I got a notification popup while on my home screen (right now 8pm GMT+10) that there is a new update available which will wipe some settings in order to install ICS (215.72MB Update).
Just thought i'd update you all that are in the same boat as I havent seen any information about carriers updating to ICS.
I'll update you and let you's know how I go.
I can't show you a picture becuase i've posted less than 8 posts.
Bit late on the update..
Telstra, and Optus have already rolled out ICS for S2 a few weeks ago..
I run 2 Galaxy S2 phones, on both networks. Both upgrades are so much smoother. Although TW launcher is the same, so just flash a new launcher to suit..
I use alot of features and high power apps and no bugs as yet..
Although I am looking for a telstra DVLP4 insecure kernel to re-root. If anyone could be of assistance?? For a beer, or thanks..

I too am looking for the rooted Kernel. Please let me know if you find one. I flashed the new update from the wanam rom and I must say I am loving the battery life. Watching Fox on the telle from my phone is kinda cool also.
Anyone who wants an 'insecure'/CFRoot LP4 kernel should extract the stock kernel zImage from the rom package, send it to Chainfire & ask him nicely to make a CFRoot kernel.
Doubt you'll see an insecure/root kernel for this build otherwise.
Neede Kernel Bad
Hey Guys i would really like the stock kernel for this rom can any help me Please I have search for ages pleas help

CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPS-v5.4-CWM5.rar Google it new user so it wont let me post links yet sorry
CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPS-v5.4-CWM5.rar
I tried it, and so far so good. One problem was rebooting after I flashed it. Phone says TW failed to launch than rebooted nad no worries mate!

I upgrade via kies too. But if ypu flash the kernel above you will have root access again!
Does anyone know what the modem after the update is? And if this modem can be used with a GB Rom.
DVLP4 according to Checkfus. Yes. You can flash whatever modem you like. Modems originally supplied with GB stock roms will work with ICS & vice versa. However, different modems tend to work best with particular networks and sometimes even vary a bit with location (variations in equipment/bands used by the same telco in different locations).
You should be able to find a CWM flashable version of the modem via a Google search with XDA appended to your search terms, or, have a look in the AU SGS2 thread. I'm fairly sure this modem has been discussed (and posted/at least links to CWM versions) somewhat recently. If you can't find it, ask someone to post it for you in that thread.

So long as it's a Telstra modem, I'm happy. I see your flag says you're with vodafone..
From Checkfus - Android/GT-I9100T/Australia (Telstra) - GTI9100LKJTEL:
I9100TDVLP4/I9100TTELLP2/I9100TDVLP3/I9100TDVLP4
The third bit is the modem. Yes, I'm with Voda. And ?

I assumed the modems were different for vodafone and telstra even if they use same frequency
What telco I use has nothing to do with anything I looked up the Telstra details with Checkfus, plus I keep an eye on the AU thread so I know it's been discussed. As per the edit to my post above, the modem is actually the 3rd bit in that string. Go back to the AU thread, I'm about to post there.

*ignorant post about not being sure how to root*
EDIT: My original post was asking a bunch of questions for how to root my Telstra specific Ice Cream Sandwhich phone. I have now done this and it was surprisingly easy.
The easiest way is to follow the following guide here (which is already Telstra specific).
However you will want to use the following kernal (pretty much first step). which is for ICS, you can find this filehere.
I was concerned I would lose my Next G speeds, but all is good. Still getting 6000kbps at home!
Cheers
Thanks Great Info

I have posted this in a few places but here it is again. I was stuck on MF9 modem. I Odined the modem tar from that thread several times and could never get it to work. Finally I put the modem in Phone instead of PDA and it worked. So if you are having trouble installing the MJA modem try it from the Phone slot.
Hello,
I have been looking to try out the Hyper Drive rom for some time now, but haven't been able to find a good link with a matching md5 number. I have a att samsung s4. I am rooted with safestrap and running MK2. i have read my fair share of threads and have found everything i need except a working link. I understand that Hyper Drive RSL14 the newest version isnt compatible with MK2 ATT. I have read that RSL12 for verizon S4 is compatible with ATT. is this true? or am i mixing things up? can anyone point me in the right direction? the help will be much appreciated.
Not sure who told you rls14 isn't compatible bc plenty of people on safestrap are using it. One guy on safestrap is having an issue with Wi-Fi right now and I was trying to help him out.

Hyperdrive RLS12, 13, and 14 all work on MK2.
What you are thinking of is only the v12 that was in the Verizon thread worked on SS. The v12 in the ATT thread did not.
Now with version 14, the download for the att thread points to the download in the verizon thread, so it's the same ss compatible version. (I believe that was the case with v13 too.)

My Sprint S4 received the 4.4 update OTA which moved it to version L720TVPUBNAF. I attempted to flash it back to the L720TVPUAMK5 (4.3) version using Odin and the .tar for the stock firmware for this version. Big mistake. Odin failed and now I get the 'Firmware Upgrade Encountered an Issue' upon boot. First I'm hoping there may be a .tar available for the NAF version and I can flash that with Odin through DL mode since DL mode is the only working mode. I have not used Kies so I do not have an image to fall back to. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
at least your not hard bricked..... find a .tar ver. of the naf rom...might be at samsung websight....then Odin it back... sorry i.dont have links at hand, im kinda busy., but they are there... i have not seen naf roms here on xda yet but i could be wrong... im sure it should be here

Just saw you had this thread going too lol hey I know how it is having a bricked phone.
Like these guys said you can ( I guess) flash an NAF based ROM via Odin if you can find one. Or try that other method I linked you to before

I don't see any NAF (tri band) based Roms myself. I don't know IFA NAE ROM would get you very far since it Is different.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
There is no full tar file for NAF and probably won't be for several weeks. You NEVER flash older tars with the S4 anymore. Once Samsung implemented the full knox bootloader it prevents you from going backwards. Your best bet if you want your phone to work is to take it to Sprint and tell them the update to Kit Kat failed and they should be able to flash your phone back to NAF, or they will replace it.

I see you were involved in that thread I linked him. That update zip would not help him since the phone is bricked right? I've never gone that route myself so that's why I'm asking. That'd be my take on it right now, I seem to have over looked that when I linked him that.
Also there was a thread on here for the regular l720 that included a couple files and the use of Odin to get people unbricked and then I think able to use an update zip. Have you seen that? Just throwing that out there that's all. That method is a tad more involved but did work for a few people to unbrick their NAE S4's after they tried downgrading to mk2.
Now since that method wasn't for the tri band s4, I think finding the needed files may be hard. Again I'm just tossing this out there to get your feedback.

Thanks for everyone's responses and suggestions. I took the phone to Best Buy and they flashed NAF back on using the Samsung SMART firmware tool they have. As far as some of the other questions, I think a .tar of the NAF firmware would have worked using Odin because I could get into download mode. I don't think a zip would have worked because I could not get into any kind of interactive Recovery mode. Regular boot and attempting to boot to Recovery would take me to the same "Firmware Upgrade Encountered an Issue" screen.

I just wanted to say thank you for posting the followup info after getting your issues squared away. All too often people ask questions and you never know if they got resolved. You also posted HOW your problem was fixed, which can help others in the same boat. Glad to have you here at XDA.

I'm facing the same ordeal oddly enough. Rooted with cf root, Flashed philz touch. Flashed slimkat and gapps, got everything all set up, went to change the DPI with textdroider, rebooted and the phone booted up however DPI didn't change. Tried a few more times with no success and installed resolution change / Density (without reading reviews) and bam! soft bricked. Spent over an hour looking for the NAF ROM and found it on sammobile. Waiting for DL and that has taken well over an hour. Can't believe this ROM is uploaded NO WHERE ELSE. I'll be posted back about results and also if i'm succesful I'm open to sharing this file here on xda so it doesn't take forever to DL!! If someone has a good solution for hosting, i'm all ears
EDIT: Flashing the NAF stock ROM from sammobile worked a treat. However, still kida burned about having to wait so long to reach a resoluton mainly due to horrendously slow DL
I have an ATT Note 2 (sgh-i317) running 4.1.2 on custom rom that I rooted/unlocked and am currently using a tmobile sim card.
When I tried to update to 4.4.2 using the n7100 file, it would stall at the Samsung logo and not proceed. Luckily I backed up my NAND and restored it back to back but now it does not recognize my tmobile sim card and the model number changed to sgh-t889 which I googled and it says it's tmobile.
Can anyone help me either restore it back to 4.1.2 or 4.4.2 or even 4.3.
I'm pretty sure you can't flash n7100 ROMs, only N7105 ROMs and then the appropriate modem. I'm certain other people have done the same as you and there's a solution out there, look around (can't remember if it's modem or imei related, or other).
It may help to be more descriptive with everything you have done, ROM versions, fixes uve tried, etc.
