Galaxy s2 ICS Update, Telstra AUS - Galaxy S II General

Hey guys,
Long time lurker here, I flashed back to stock 2.3.6 carrier firmware (telstra in AUS) about 3 days ago because I feared my phone had the infamous USB port error (random charging without charger plugged in and other related issues) and I might have had to return it for warranty.
I got a notification popup while on my home screen (right now 8pm GMT+10) that there is a new update available which will wipe some settings in order to install ICS (215.72MB Update).
Just thought i'd update you all that are in the same boat as I havent seen any information about carriers updating to ICS.
I'll update you and let you's know how I go.
I can't show you a picture becuase i've posted less than 8 posts.

Bit late on the update..
Telstra, and Optus have already rolled out ICS for S2 a few weeks ago..
I run 2 Galaxy S2 phones, on both networks. Both upgrades are so much smoother. Although TW launcher is the same, so just flash a new launcher to suit..
I use alot of features and high power apps and no bugs as yet..
Although I am looking for a telstra DVLP4 insecure kernel to re-root. If anyone could be of assistance?? For a beer, or thanks..

I too am looking for the rooted Kernel. Please let me know if you find one. I flashed the new update from the wanam rom and I must say I am loving the battery life. Watching Fox on the telle from my phone is kinda cool also.

Anyone who wants an 'insecure'/CFRoot LP4 kernel should extract the stock kernel zImage from the rom package, send it to Chainfire & ask him nicely to make a CFRoot kernel.
Doubt you'll see an insecure/root kernel for this build otherwise.

Neede Kernel Bad

CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPS-v5.4-CWM5.rar Google it new user so it wont let me post links yet sorry

CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPS-v5.4-CWM5.rar
I tried it, and so far so good. One problem was rebooting after I flashed it. Phone says TW failed to launch than rebooted nad no worries mate!

I would if i could. But I decided to upgrade via Kies. And no root acess now.. So no rom package, can't get the zImage..

I upgrade via kies too. But if ypu flash the kernel above you will have root access again!

Does anyone know what the modem after the update is? And if this modem can be used with a GB Rom.

DVLP4 according to Checkfus. Yes. You can flash whatever modem you like. Modems originally supplied with GB stock roms will work with ICS & vice versa. However, different modems tend to work best with particular networks and sometimes even vary a bit with location (variations in equipment/bands used by the same telco in different locations).
You should be able to find a CWM flashable version of the modem via a Google search with XDA appended to your search terms, or, have a look in the AU SGS2 thread. I'm fairly sure this modem has been discussed (and posted/at least links to CWM versions) somewhat recently. If you can't find it, ask someone to post it for you in that thread.

So long as it's a Telstra modem, I'm happy. I see your flag says you're with vodafone..

From Checkfus - Android/GT-I9100T/Australia (Telstra) - GTI9100LKJTEL:
I9100TDVLP4/I9100TTELLP2/I9100TDVLP3/I9100TDVLP4
The third bit is the modem. Yes, I'm with Voda. And ?

I assumed the modems were different for vodafone and telstra even if they use same frequency

What telco I use has nothing to do with anything I looked up the Telstra details with Checkfus, plus I keep an eye on the AU thread so I know it's been discussed. As per the edit to my post above, the modem is actually the 3rd bit in that string. Go back to the AU thread, I'm about to post there.

*ignorant post about not being sure how to root*
EDIT: My original post was asking a bunch of questions for how to root my Telstra specific Ice Cream Sandwhich phone. I have now done this and it was surprisingly easy.
The easiest way is to follow the following guide here (which is already Telstra specific).
However you will want to use the following kernal (pretty much first step). which is for ICS, you can find this filehere.
I was concerned I would lose my Next G speeds, but all is good. Still getting 6000kbps at home!
Cheers

Thanks Great Info

US Tmo tab JJB...what are my options?!?

OK so i've had my tab for about two weeks and i can't get a clear answer as to what my options are for flashing my device. I see many JMC and JJ6 and I'm really lost. I know there are many models of this tab but i want to know for the American tmobile tab specifically.
the firmware i have says JJB...What are my options as far as to flashing to a new firmware?
Is there an official upgrade?
I will only use it for data and not voice calls, so i want to have 3G. I would like a fix to the lag in the calendar and browser.
Can any of the firmwares help me?
I also installed Kies with drivers and it doesn't see my tab? Do i have to be in download mode for Kies to see my tab?
Thank you very much for your time.
Same boat as you. awaiting some guidance as well.
Same thing here. Kies doesn't recognize my tab and I'm on JJB. Changing your IMEI works though, allowing for 3G and bypassing the T-Mobile redirect. I'm on the old school 5.99 T-zones plan and getting unlimited 3g .
same here there is very little guidance and very helpful people but I can't seem to just get a simple question answered here or there to feel comfy enough to flash my new tab, I know you want rotojme because there are no bootstraps installed. I know the koush clockwork mod kernel installs ext4 file system which is great but I can't remember where to put the files I need to adb? lol Im a mess cause its been since the g1 that I have ever adb anything.
Has anyone using JJB taken the leap of upgrading to a better firmware? How did you do it?
Any advise would be appreciated.

Thought I was the only one. All this jmc jme and j whatever. Is killing me. Need guidence on this matter

Seems like it is safe to flash the new roto jme rom. It.s in the development section.

JJB is possible
Happy New Year.
New roto's rom is working great. So far I flashed 6 units no problem. They were all JJB. Here is bottom line.
Current status, No voice and 3G possible.
Users have 2 options.
1. 2G(EDGE) with Voice by flasing (Euro Rom)
2. 3G only (with IMEI Mod)
I appreciate Rotohammer's hardwork for this.
If you need more detail, check out following blog at
sooparkhero.blogspot.com
It will go through step by step tutorials.
Can't wait for there to be a tutorial on how to flash a T-mo tab and get 3G. That's all I'm waiting for.
I went through the same mess with mine. I finally just flashed the full jm6 for samfirmwares.com and then just the pda piece of jmc. Since then i used rotos pre rooted jme. Again by just flashing the pda piece. The day after i flashed jm6 is wheb all this talk about different bootloaders came up, so im not sure which boat i am in but i could care less. This jme is ridiculous compared with stock tmo firmware. I am happy enough.with it for this to be the final state of my tab. Lower the lcd density a bit for a better looking tab and remove the contents of your efs folder(AFTER backing it up) for the imei mod that frees you from the webconnect plan and you are set

My Korean's not good enough, wife isn't technical enough and translator doesn't do a good enough job but on the first link I can't figure something out. The top part is his guide to rooting but at the bottom, S3-3G-RootingRom.tar. Is this a custom rom, is it the factory rom, just very vague.

how i did it
Hi guys. thank you for this wonderful post.
I followed the instructions as under and achieved root. I dont know the Korean language but got a Korean model S3 3g. model SHW-M440S.
I first downloaded the files from [email protected] link above :
Rooting Korean SGS III (3G and LTE) - zip files and instructions (in Korean)
files downloaded were:
odin3_v3.04.zip
cfroot_recovery.tar
CWM_SuperUser_0.92.zip
First installed Odin on my PC.
Then shut off the phone and loaded it in download mode by Pressing volume down, Power and home (main key) at the same time.
I was faced with some Korean language text. i Pressed the VOLUME UP button and the phone entered download mode.
I loaded the file Cfroot_recovery.tar in the PDA section of ODIN and hit start.
The installation was successful and phone rebooted.
Once phone rebooted, i copied the CWM_Superuser_0.92.zip to the SD card of the phone.
I then shut off the phone
Restarted it by hitting the Volume UP , Power and Home key simultaneously.
Within the menu i selected 'install from SD card' and then pointed to the CWM_Superuser_0.92.zip file.
The file was installed. I rebooted.
Then downloaded superuser and titanium backup from the market.
loaded up titanium backup and it was given superuser access!
I have not downloaded or installed the
S3-3G-RootingRom.tar.torrent
OR
S3-LTE-RootingRom.tar.torrent
as i do not know what ROMS they are.
Anyway, i hope people find this useful. I am looking for an ENGLISH language only ROM for my Korean model SG S3. If anyone has any success with finding out, i would highly appreciate a post here
Best regards
Thanks for posting this! Glad you were successful

I messaged the guy who runs Blue Premium website and asked a few questions. One I asked was are there any custom roms that we can use right now, like CM9? I know you have your Presto ROM but I assume it is all in Korean correct? He answered...
"PRESTO ROM is indeed in Korea, but you always CAN Change the System Language. Crazy kamui figured out that custom ROMs can be flashed onto Galaxy S3 - Korean version if you change the kernel section. However, CM9 and AOKP don't work that way, so don't try. Actually we're Testing Several Things to Korean Galaxy S3 to Port CM9."
So its seems for right now Presto ROM is your only one. Let me know if you try it out and give some feedback.
You guys/girls are awesome!
Sorry, been slacking a bit, but Ill update now!
I don't have my phone yet, so I have been a bit slacking...Im sorry
Ill keep up to date!
Links have been updated on first post....Thanks to p33k and sambauer for doing some searching.
I'm still curious how they know the rooting and ROMs work with the LTE versions, since it is not released yet. Maybe they have access to one....?
Anywho, if one of you try out the custom ROM, let us know!
For the Factory ROM and Kernel, anyone post the Firmware numbers for it so I can add that? Thanks!

Im trying to get the LTE versions now, but they are "img" files.....not .tar
***Edit
Hmmm, I just tried doing the 3G ones and they are zipped up files.
It is only the LTE ones that are .img files.......
This is strange!
Is there any other mirror link for download the I9300XXBLFB (4.0.4)? As hotfile regular download limit 30 minutes per download and my area internet is slow so unable to finish download.
Thanks
Galaxy S3, Omega 7.1, franco kernel..^^

I used it on my Korean 3G model SHW-M440S.
It is not the LTE version. Also, i have not installed the rom. I just followed the steps as per my previous post , short of installing the ROM given.
I then downloaded Rom Manager and Titanium backup and both were given access to root and worked flawlessly. The only problem with the root manager is that i cannot install clockworkmod recovery as ROm manager does not give an option for my phone (it gives two options. 1- Samsung Epic4G and 2- Samsung GalaxyS i9000).
Thank you everyone else for the pointers. I shall await a little longer before trying out the PRESTO Rom. i do remember spending almost an entire night trying to fix up my Korean Galaxy model S when i put up a European Galaxy S rom on it and it wouldnt work. Took me a while to figure out the problem was that the Korean Samsung Galaxy was different than the European versions and their ROMs would not work on mine .
I have checked my applications and there are two apps installed one is called 'SUPERSU" and the other is "Superuser" . Only SuperSU is active as it shows titanium backup/etc in its app list.
I continue to ponder this issue till i solve it. Any pointers would be highly appreciated.
Yeah I had same problem with root manager. I just uninstalled it. I had backed up my Rom via cwm recovery after rooting so I hope I'm ok. Then we have the factory roms. Cwm let's u do all the things manager does but less friendly.
But I'm a newb when it comes to this just switching from ip4. Please correct me if wrong.

I have never used CWM, so I am not too sure what it is or does.
Im guessing it is a backup program?
sambauer, have you tried updating your superuser app?
Just go into the app and you should be able to update it no worries....I had a similar problem with my tab when I rooted it and just had to do the update and it worked like a charm. Just check out the menu within the app and update it.....hopefully that works.
A tip for anyone and everyone - only use ROMs that are built for our phones. There are always problems with ROMs that are not specifically made for the Korean Galaxy phones.
That being said, PRESTO ROM is made for the Korean 3G, it should work fine.

I can tell you what i experienced with my Samsung S2 which was purchased in South Korea. I frequently travel to other countries and used that Korean S2 without any problems with local sims from China, Pakistan, U.K. and The Netherlands.
There are some issues though..
1- any text message more than 80 characters automatically becomes a MMS.
2- You have to program your mobile number into the sim, otherwise before sending any sms, the phone also asks to fill out a 'from' field.
3- the Korean keyboard is ever present and becomes quite an inconvenience for some one like me who does not speak Korean language.
4- you cannot use mainstream ROMs meant for the same model of phone that are not specifically designed for the Korean model.
Other than this , all is well Now that i have purchased the S3, i am forever looking for a compatible international custom rom for it.
I hope you can make a better choice now more suited to your needs.

Source Code for Straight Talk Galaxy S II Released/Found

I'm honestly not sure where to post this, I found it on another forum (and that post was made about three hours ago). In any case, Samsung appears to have open sourced the stock firmware and kernel for Straight Talk's version of the Galaxy S II.
If you go to http://opensource.samsung.com/ and search of the model number - SGH-S959G - it's the only thing that comes up. The download appears to be just what it says, the uncompiled source code.
I've been looking for stock ever since I bought this phone and since I'm not exactly green when it comes to Linux and using a terminal, I'm tempted to give a crack at compiling this myself. Anybody have any experience with this? It can't be too hard...right? :silly:

You won't get the stock firmware by compiling the kernel, mate. Why do you want stock when you already have stock (original) firmware? If you're looking for unbranded, you're unlikely to find it as you have a carrier specific phone.

I'm aware of how this source code works!
IndigoAK I am the one that posted the link on AA51. The file appears to be in tar.gz format like what is used for install through odin. I have not tested it, as I am not a developer, or in need of flashing to factory firmware at this time. I posted it as I seen many people looking for it. I believe it is needed to be able to safely start making modifications for this phone, CWM, Root, custom ROMs, ect., and being able to flash back to stock if something goes wrong. Hopefully with the information out there now it will jump start development.
Edit: After further research the source code files are used to create the firmware, and these cannot be installed through Odin. Feel free to correct me if I'm still wrong.

I probably should have linked to your post. I apologize.
I just thought that posting it here on XDA might get it seen by more people who might know how to put this to use.
Hopefully somebody does put it to use. Due to the way that Straight Talked has gimped this phone, it's going to take the community to really make it worth the price they're charging for it.
I tried to link to the original post on android area 51, but as a new member I am not allowed, yet. I am just trying to get information out there, so thank you for posting it here (as I just now joined). The phone is fairly new and under advertised, but hopefully these posts will stir interest.
I was looking under the battery cover and noticed the FCC id for this phone (SGH-S959G) is A3L SGH I777. Now for everyone smarter than I. Does this mean that the phone is an i777, and would all the mods and ROMs ect. be directly compatible. Also its android 2.3.6. Version s959g UDLG1. Kernel 2.6.35.7. Any thoughts, educated opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks.

No.
Everything needs to be modified. The I777 rooting method works for this device, but nobody has been able to get past that as far as I'm aware. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to double reboot my phone trying to install every custom recovery image (and searching around suggests this is the case for a lot of other people) I can get my hands on and I've kept a pretty close eye on custom firmware sites - none of them have added support for this device (probably because you can't install a custom recovery image yet).
Guys I have the same problem, I tried to root my Straight Talk Galaxy SII using the AT&T root but CWM doesn't install and the root breaks the Wifi, Contacts save option, several apps like YouTube. I cannot revert back to the stock ROM due to this issue and I really could use the help.. I'm surprised that DEV teams haven't done much on the phone considering for 45 dollars a month you get really fast 7mb/s speed.
I'm willing to do whatever I can to contribute to a way of finally getting this awesome phone off of a sucky stock rom.
Thanks everyone!
I was just curious if it could be fully flashed to stock i777 GB. As it appears to be the exact same hardware. Completely start over making it the at&t i777.

No. I tried this.
Also, if your WiFi doesn't work, you probably used the Zedomax kernal. Search XDA for Entropy's kernel and use that instead.
LOOKIN. For Fully Rooted .. Samsung Galaxy s2. Sgh-s959g From Straight Talk. FLASHED a kernel dat when loading. Tells me its a sgh-i9100 ... has a ... ! ...triangle under it...and when I check the info on bout phone. It says sgh-i777.. any links for the best FULLY ROOTED kernels GB?.. PS. Willing to do testing with this phone from straight talk. But has. Att kernel.. one from. Entropy! !! Thanks

This is the update schedule for American carriers. Does that mean that unlocked phones will get it sooner? I hope so. I only just bought the note 2 (Best decision ever) and would love it to be running on 4.3 ASAP.

I live in Brizzy too and I'll second or third that if its the only way we can get it? Sorry for the possibly stupid question, but is it true that if you have rooted and installed a custom rom, then you won't get the push update from your carrier anyway?... so.... the only way to get 4.3 on my (and I assume your rooted phone) is via custom rom download?

have issues with the ota updater as soon as i root my device. The moment i do that i get the message that my device has been changed and i cannot use the updater then. if i flash stock withouth root i don't have this issue.
reckon its best to make a backup of your apps with TB or any similar program when the official update is available, then flash back stock (no root) and update, afterwards simply restore your normal (non-system) apps and your ready
I'm in Aus too, but the official story (courtesy of Telstra) is that there won't be any updates as of JB 4.1.2, unless there's sufficient backlash ...

To answer you and the gentleman above... Australia will probably be the last country on earth to get the update as usual. So we might have to reside to getting it of some kind developer who uploads it here somewhere.
If you do wish to get updates you should go back to stock firmware (probably the first backup you made for your telstra 4.1.2) doesn't matter if it's rooted. Connect your phone to the PC and have KIES installed. Click update firmware and update (done, it will automatically unroot your phone and put back the stock recovery). You can easily update after that.
If anyone finds any android 4.3 working please update us here as soon as you can with a link to the page. If I find a working ROM for the official android 4.3 TW ROM I'll post it here too.
I don't think Aussie tel companies will well I don't have high hopes when it comes to Samsung I've always had HTC and Samsung and it's always the same get f all. I'm using 4.3.1 carbon I use GMD spen features for spen control and gestures don't use stock Sammy apps anyway.. just the 4.3 would be good because it's smooth as

Well now...I've been holding off playing with rooting my phone (as I'm new to 'droid and have an awful lot to learn, but have come a LONG way in 2 weeks) as I was expecting Telstra to release an update. Since that appears NOT to be forthcoming, Ill consider the various root options, none of which are particularly appealing at the moment mainly as it seems no-one has a stock ROM for this phone online and I can't backup mine without root. Catch 22 it seems. Information on locked bootloaders, Telstra ROM mods, rooting the 7105 "T" version is VERY limited
So...if anyone happens to have a link for a ROM copy please let me know.
(Or info on a rooting technique that works)
Ultimately every one on xda will be using the custom 4.3 rom for the note 3 goodies because Samsung will not be releasing those features in it's official release

Okay I will explain what I done for you...
When I first rooted my Galaxy Note 2 in May, I was a new-comer to android, I had an iPhone for a long time. What I done was root my phone, I Odin installed TWRP after rooting because I really don't like CWM (those are the names of the 'recoveries' available), they will replace the default Samsung recovery. Just make sure you get TWRP. I think it's up to TWRP 2.6.3
Well yeah let's get back to the topic, as soon as I rooted I used TWRP to make a backup of my default Telstra ROM (completely with EFS, MODEM, basically tick everything you can possibly backup).
I took that backup and put it on my laptop and on my PC and I kept a copy on my external card the whole time. That was the best idea, any time I ever had any problems with my phone I went back to that backup. I even soft bricked my phone once and after hours of panicking I realised I can just Re-install the default backup, and it fixed my phone.
Oh and I just recently un-rooted my phone to check for updates. All I done was use SuperSU to do an UNROOT. Then went into recover, restored the original backup I made of the Telstra ROM. Plugged my phone into the PC, and used Samsung KIES to check for firmware update. It just restarted my phone, removed TWRP recovery, re-installed the samsung one, and it removed the root completely and I'm basically went back to my original telstra ROM. I can go into settings and check for updates and everything. (I can confirm there is no update as of yet).
AS for your other QUESTION.
ALL THE ROMS in the N7105 Section will WORK with your N7105T Model. It's the same thing. JUST WATCH OUT and make sure you never install N7100 ROMS (They will soft-brick and could hard-brick your phone).
Thanks for the input.
I've been considering between 3, namely CF AutoRoot, Galaxy Note Toolkit And (exploit based) Framaroot, with a bias towards Toolkit so far ( as it specifies the 7105 "T" variant).
But if you've actually ODINed a GT-7105T (Telstra) with CWP without issues, I'll certainly consider that.
Any one else care to chime in on this (if you've done the same phone/telco only though !)
I've come far enough to understand rooting, boot processes, CWM/TWRP, exploits AND the importance of picking the exact model !
I'll take the plunge when I get enough input to decide.

It's not that hard really, you can't really mess it up if you follow the instructions... Hey root it whichever way you see fit, whatever you think is easier for you, don't listen to me. But I do highly recommend you get TWRP for backing up and formatting and installing your ROMS. Also I recommend PAC-MAN it's a good ROM, but it's not very stable at the moment (kind of).

Don't take offense at my asking for multiple inputs. I just don't want to brick at $600 phone needlessly
I've now sourced a ROM from Sammobile and downloaded it last night.
I'm backing up settings and stuff tonight and will run with Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit tomorrow (I went PRO) and go for option 3 - THE LOT !
Hopefully it'll all go ok.

Well, I did the deed last night with Toolkit PRO and it all went smoothly. No Telstra or Samsung nasties reared their heads PLUS there wasn't a yellow triangle either !
That's the trouble with being in Oz. It's such a small market and REAL information is very hard to come by...so one is very cautious !

do you think it will allow encryption? I haven't had much luck yet with any rom except stock for root, twrc, and then encryption. my work email requires it or I'd skip it entirely...
thx

I haven't tried but it's possible. Not sure why encryption doesn't work on other roms, but the "regular" version of this one is basically stock with root, TWRP, busybox, etc. I've disabled securestorage and added r/w permissions for SD card too, but if that's a problem you can reverse those two changes by following the steps in OP2 in my dev thread. If you test it out please report back and let us know if it worked

resolving LTE display issue
Hi,
I believe I have replaced the Systemui.apk correctly with the correct permissions using Root Explorer but still see the 4G rather than the LTE in the bar.
Any ideas?
Thx.

Check out this post from my other thread in the dev section. I think you'll also need the platform file, not just the Systemui.apk. Let us know if that does the trick.

What version of the rom are you flashing? Debloated v1.1 or 2.1? The files I linked were from the AOA1 base so not clear if they will work on BOC4.

A01A Base and debloated V1.1.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond - not really a big deal - just more a point of trying to figure it out for myself at this point. I will likely flash to 5.01 debloated now anyway - I have KT kernel running with the 1.1. Does the 5.01 have it's own kernel? (sorry if this is a naive question).
Thanks again.

Happy to help . v2.1 (i.e. Lollipop) has the stock kernel. If you have already updated to BOC4 through Odin at least once before then the kernel will work for you when you flash v2.1. If not, you'll need to flash a compatible custom kernel (e.g. AEL, KT, etc) to avoid boot loops after installing v2.1. See OP in my dev thread for full instructions.
Not sure about the LTE icon. Maybe try copying the CSC folder from another working rom to v1.1 and try flashing that? If you're on kitkat and running xposed there is also a module you can download called LTE Switcher or something like that. I've used it before and it worked for me.

Yes just confirming that you should be able to get the LTE icon by copying the CSC folder from stock or from the Regular version to your phone (after installing the Debloated version of course).:good:

Debloated 2.2 released!
Notes:
Used a new debloat process and also fixed FC when using the front-facing camera.
If you get any FCs after initial setup (such as Google Maps or Samsung Link Platform), just make sure to update the problematic app from the Play Store or Samsung's Galaxy Apps store and then you should be good to go!

I've tried both versions and neither version can access the RF Band Selector menu. It comes up with a MMI error. I've gone through and tried manually selecting a provider and that didn't work neither. IMEI is intact, and no issues with making receiving calls or texts. Flashed back to stock via Odin and no issues with getting to that menu.

Hmm that's strange...I could understand an issue with the Debloated version since things were removed, but the Regular version is basically just a rooted and deodexed version of stock. You have a N910W8, and not using any other mods or kernels, correct? Not sure why it would work on stock BOC4 but not the Regular Rom since they are essentially the same...

Yes I had the same thought, so I went from the debloat to the regular. I also ensured that I wiped 3x in TWRP in all required sections (all except internal storage and SD Card), before doing the flash to debloat or regular. Also made sure I waited 5 minutes post boot and then reboot before going through the setup wizard.
In any case, not a deal breaker for some, but may be fore those that are looking to enable LTE on N910W8 (Wind purchased phones).
I am running a N910W8, with no other mods or kernels. I was running straight stock w/root, before flashing the ROM's. Ensured that I was running BOC4 before flash. Not sure why, unless the base ROM you're using in the Deodex and Debloat doesn't have that menu's within it's native firmware, but I was under the impression that the firmware for canadian models were all identical with their own carrier codes attached to the firmware. (CSC Code chage *#272*IMEI#).

Thanks for the info. Strange indeed! Yes the Canadian roms should all basically be the same as you mentioned. This one is based directly off the stock Bell BOC4 firmware from sammobile so not clear why it would on stock but not this version. I've read something about Wind phones being a little different from the other Canadian variants in some way (I forget the specifics now), but that was a while back and I'm not sure if it's actually true or even related to this lol. Either way I will take a look over the weekend and post if I find anything of interest.
