i have had this happen on three occasions in the last 3 weeks, cant say it was from anyone thing but happened enough now to notice it. Anyone had this?
If i need to exchange the device does anyone know the policy with o2? The phone was purchased from an o2 store as pay and go. Dont even know if they would have stock now so in which case to i go through google and is it correct they have a stock of handsets for issues like this?
thanks
It may be a software problem with 4.2 same thing happens on n7 after update.

Mine has not had 1 single random reboot over the last 10 days

I just had a random reboot while texting at the grocery store. Latest update.
I've had probably a half dozen random reboots in my first week of ownership. Just a few minutes ago uninstalling HD widgets caused a reboot.

hey all
as we know the SNS has a random reboot bug, my phone also has rebooted many times.
but after I turned on the "Use ONLY 2G network" option for power saving, i found it run for more than 200 hours, haven't rebooted.
so I think it maybe has relationship between mobile network and phone rebooting.
and here is the poll, please vote your situation, thanks.
3G only, and not rebooted (yet)
I leave min on auto 3G/2G, i have had this issue on 3 calls today, i have made 3 calls in total (today).
They best hurry and prove it's software or my no quibble return will be in danger!
Looking forward to a fix.
Your intention is to address both the random reboots in general issue AND the random reboots during a call issue?
I've had a few reboots during calls, but never (that I am aware of) when not making a call.
i've never had the reboot during a call, but had the general reboot probably once every couple of days.
To clarify as per Distorted Loop's comment above:
My issue has been during calls only. I have never had a reboot whilst not in a call (that i have noticed).
According to an article on engagdet yesterday a fix is coming.

And the same news was on XDA here two weeks ago.
Seems to take some time from the source release to the OTA for sure... I am waiting to use this phone properly here!
My first android phone ever, and i cannot call on it without a reboot. Such nice kit and poor execution.
I had my nexus reboot and freeze while listening to androids stock music player. non rooted had for a total of ten days returning this to best buy today.

I've not had any random reboots..
No Reboots on 2 or 3g, My Nexus S has performed flawlessly since purchase, 23rd December , in fact most reliable phone I have ever owned!

agree!
this phone has been rock solid since day one
... can't say the same for the SGS
dont have data plan eventhough our network works on 3G and I had 4 reboot while talking, one was a long call and the others dont, always with wifi and sync on...
I have the nexus since 20ths of december...
I use only 3G....although about 97% of the time I'm actually on wifi. I've not had any reboots during a phonecall, although I honestly only use about 5-15minutes of call time a month so I'm not a very good representative.
The only issue that I've had since owning this stellar device was a bootloop issue that occurred on around the 3rd night I had the device (bought it the day it came out). After that, I unlocked and rooted it - no issues since.
Forced wcdmaand had 3 reboots so far today but never during a call. Usually right after a force close.

I did not insert a SIM Card ever, the phone has not rebooted ...
I've been using it for a month, with Cyanogenmod Nightlies since first day.
my recent experience.
it has something to do with the networks.
when i was in the UK, running on o2 network, i never experienced any random on call reboot.
my recent holiday trip back to malaysia, when i was using DIGI in malaysia, almost immediate i have experience a few random reboots.
My N4 is stock. I've had it and have been using straight talk att for about 2 and a half months. Sometime yesterday I stopped receiving text messages. I just got off of the phone with st tech support. After them telling me to cut my phone off and on about 10 times to try to fix the problem, I think he gave up. He said that he reset my services and it could take up to 24hrs to be fixed. I really don't buy it. I don't want to but I am considering doing a factory reset. Any suggestions? Please!

A data factory reset may be the best option imo atm to be honest.
I've had the G2 for nearly a week now and have found the phone to perform nearly flawlessly with the exception of what I'll call the the time to fix on GPS. Outdoors and especially indoors, the time to receive a good fix for GPS is slow. Using tools like GPS status it seems to take for ever to begin seeing satelittes and then even longer to get enough to firmly establish a fix. I'm a pilot and really need my devices to work robustly with GPS and since I'm within the two week return window on Verizon need to establish if this might be an anomaly with my unit or something inherent to the device in general so I can act accordingly. Thanks.
Sitting in my living room I grabbed 8 satellites within a few seconds. Working as expected for me so far.

Thanks for that. I'll try a reset and then return for another if that doesn't do it.

Yup, same here!!!!
Well I reset the phone and without activating wifi so as to avoid the help that provides, I cannot get a fix indoors or out. Outside I lock on two sats but no fix. Going to return for another.

eveyrtime i factory reset it takes about 5 minutes just to get a lock.

actually, after a reboot its taking forever to lock on as well. annoying.

My experience with GPS on my phone is similar to yours, really slow to get a lock. Also, on local streets, sometimes the compass gets all whacky and losses the correct heading. Not sure if it's just my unit or not.

Well back to Galaxy S4 for me. At least temporarily. Went to Verizon store to have phone replaced. After spending 15 minutes trying to have the manager understand the problem they agreed to replace. Went to check out and they say you have an outstanding balance. I say yes I just sent in payment electronically. So even though I paid full retail they wanted me to pay again. Will not I say, so keep the damn things. So then they charge me $35 restock fee. Okay so I go home and call Verizon and find out the phone should have been replaced. Credited my account the 35. I really hate Verizon sometimes but unlimited data is hard to walk away from.

My G2's GPS has been phenomenal. Easily one of the top 5 things I love about this phone. Outdoors, a lock is damn near instant and indoors I'm locked on to over 8 satellites within seconds. Even after an AGPS clear request and reboot/WIFI off/google location services off, it locks one within 3-4 seconds INDOORS. I would try to return for another. Coming from samsung devices, this is a welcome change. It just works. :good:
TopNTP
Try TopNTP, i had similar issues with my galaxy nexus and this was the only softwafre which solved it by changing the gps.conf file (need root)

Did you quote the wrong person? LOL
I'm not having any problems with my GPS. All of my previous samsungs (epic 4g/droid charge/GNex) had some kind of GPS issue one way or the other. There was some workarounds that seemed to help but they were never this good. Actually now that I think about it, my first Droid charge was pretty darn good with GPS but my replacement unit had some trouble. I think my Gnex was the worst by far. Oh well, it's been relegated to WiFi-only duty and I'll keep it around just to mess around with the latest AOSP builds. :cyclops:
I think I may have had a lemon but due to stupid verizon store employees I don't know yet. I'll now wait and take a look at the note 3 and/or wait for some used G2. As compared to my S4 the galaxy finds nearly 20 satellites in seconds and locks to most of those within two even after agps reset.

My LG G2 won't get a fix indoors even under skylights, and takes much longer than my Moto Droid Razr Maxx outdoors. Maybe I will try and exchange it.
I really dont think swapping will do anything... mine does this too and sometimes it just works better. after a reboot it takes a while, but then it'll lock in seconds during that time on. it's weird.

The LG G2 has been slow as a mail in rebate to get back to you when locking onto GPS. I picked the phone up yesterday. Before and after root the same thing here in Northern VA/Metro DC area. The S4, Gnex, N4, and N7 all perform flawlessly. I don't want to do an exchange with VZW cause most of the in store help is clueless and I feel my soul slowly dying every time I have to speak to one of them.
I am hoping it is solar flares, sunspots, weather, congress blinking, or my 4 year old daughter continuously talking that is causing interference with my device locking into GPS in a timely fashion.
Mine works great outdoors and for the most part indoors. There are some bad spots I've found in my office so far where it can't/struggles to lock.
How do you know you got a lock?
GPS lock is very fast here, Korean G2 in Europe. Might it be a Verizon version issue? Could the wireless charging coil block the GPS signals?

Hello I'm new to this thread as I've been a HTC user forever.
I just got my note 3 last night and it seems that I have low signal every where in Los Angeles. I only have 1 or 2 bars. I didn't have this issue with my HTC Evo which always had 5 bars..
I don't think it's Verizon network but the phone. Does any one else experience this issue? Is there a fix to get better signal?
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
I haven't had signal issues with my note, but from all the reading on these forums. If you are having signal issues and your on the latest radios it's probably a hardware issue. Seems like there are some phones made in China and some from Korea with quality differences between them. Wait for others to chime in, but you might want to contact Verizon and get another phone sent.

How can you check if yours was made in China or Korea?
I have the same problem, as do many. And it got way worse after the most recent update. See if you can get a replacement.

After spending an hour on the phone with tech support they suggested I go in and exchange my sim card so I did. Well that didn't change the low signal. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Just to add my $0.02.. I had the exact same problem and I purchased original my phone close to release day. It didn't matter what I did, but I would drop signal or always have terrible signal even though I was close to a tower. I also had a wiggling home key as well. Eventually my proximity sensor died on the phone, which at that point I had enough with it. I went in and returned it under warranty after having it for a month and a half. The new phone I got now actually has an earlier build then my original (under battery it's dated), but I have no issues with it at all. It was factory re-certified, but it runs like a champ and has none of the signal problems my original did. So I think there is definitely some truth to the idea that some have better builds than others based on where they were manufactured. I would return yours without a hesitation under the manufactures warranty. Hope that helps!
Thanks for helping at this point I've returned it 3 times in 10 days. I've got two different build dates and all of them still have low signal issue and calls dropping.
Man, 1+1 doesn't make anything easy. Out of the blue, I received a claim for a 64GB Sandstone Black model and, even though I'm more than happy with my HTC M8, it could use a little company so I'm trying to use the claim and all I get are timeouts (bad gateway) from oneplus.net using my Account page. I have 23-hrs left, so should I just be patient and keep trying? I don't want the claim to expire.
You still have a lot of time. Just wait it out and try again in a couple hours.
Having the same issues. I got a 64gb claim from a user here today as well. It just keeps timing out. Tried phone and different browsers.
Yup site is having issues. Of course it would have problems just when I got my invite 14 hours ago. They better make it up to those who had their invites expired while having these issues with the site
