Hi, I have a N800 Mini (MTK6575) and are having problems with the touch screen.
The left side of the touch-screen stopped responding to touch.
I re-flashed the phone's rom and it worked fine for about 3 weeks and now it stopped responding again, but this time its only part of the left side that's not working. (there is a dead spot about 1/3 inch wide from top to bottom not working)
I re-flashed again, but this time it does not fix the problem.
If anyone has a fix or has the same problem, please help.

HTC647; TouchScreen problems.. right upper corner keeps touching, then touchscreen locks up, and inop until cools down .
Any solution for this?. Change the screen and a new digitizer, works well 10 minutes and then started the problem, and now it does nothing. Before shutting down and waiting a few minutes and returned to work.
Now upgraded the rom but I can not begin because I asked calibrate and does not work as the digitizer not step there.
Please some help and I apologize for my bad English.

Well i think my Polaris has finally given me the finger.
The touch screen no longer responds to finger/stylus presses. If i press randomly for long enough it does register a click, but never in the right spot or consistently.
What do you think it could be?
Ive tried reloading different roms that have worked perfectly before, hard resets, and ive even tried taking it apart and reconnecting the connectors.
It was dropped a few days ago but it was fine, then one day, while doing nothing in particular it decided to stop responding to touch input, the normal buttons work fine.
My XDA Orbit2 (same as Cruise) has the same problemccasional freezing and touch screen decalibration (needs to be recalibrated every 5 min). problem is that this occurs infrequently. therefore i have lost hope that sending in for repair would work.....
i have a same problem..
my polaris's touch screen sometimes not responding to any touch.
i have to connect it to my computer or battery charger, and then it will work again.
can anybody explain to me why??
thanx before
same happened to me last week! well, its on its way to o2 service partner right now... guess it was supposed to brake in about 7months from now.

Hi!
I broke my touchscreen (Tytn2) and replaced it with a touchscreen from ebay for 10 €.
It works, but there are some problems:
1. I have to press very strong onto the screen for a signal!
2. On the edges i have to press very very strong - even stronger then in the middle.
3. the signal itself is on the right position......
4. i have already tried to reset the sensitivity of the touchscreen (and increase/decrease it)
5. i have already aligned the screen several times....
My questions are:
1. is it installed well?? (I had to connect 4 pins on my own.....)
2. if it gets the right signal (but only when I´m pressing very strong), can there be anything wrong with the connectors?
PLEASE HELP ME!
greetings!
Well i was SO close to just giving up and buying a new phone.
I found however, an entire brand new housing for the low low price of $65 AUS. I could of just bought the digitizer for about $30.
When i look at the devices out there...they arent that great...i was going to get a Nokia E72 but realised i would miss the touch input.
So i will suffer along with my touch cruise, checking these forums for updates on the Android progress
ANd ill have a spiffy new case to boot.
My 02 Orbit 2 touch screen has stopped working also - I found that a temporary solution is to hold the top of the screen tightly over the earpiece
It would register touches, enough to Flash back to Original ROM
It Going back to 02 this weekend.
Hi. I have had my Nexus 7 for quite a while now and so fdar it had worked perfectly. However today the touchscreen wouldnt work, even after many restarts. Then it suddenly started working again. I flashed back to stock and till then everything was working good again. However once I flashed a custom rom again the thouch screen got messed up and it was as if I was touching the screen when I wasnt. Does anyone know what's going on with my tablet ?
Thanks
I was mistaken when I thought it was related to software and I found the real issue. When applying pressure on the left side of the frame of the tablet, the screen will start registering touvhes on it's own. Upon using Multitouch Visualizer I noticed that after i pressed the left frame of the screen, the tablet would register touches on the far right of the screen on it's own. Is there any way I can fix this ?
Hi everybody,
I have a somewhat reversed question. I recently broke my screen, and ordered a new digitaliser + LCD screen from AliExpress. The thing works perfectly and looks marvelous, and before mounting it I decided to test it and the digitiser and screen worked perfectly fine. Now, I glued the new screen to the chassis and booted the phone and it seems that half of the screen refuses to work. The top half works, the lower part doesn't and the soft buttons work again. According to the different fora I searched on for more information, this might be a software issue (since the digitiser worked perfectly fine before). When I attached the screen the first time the phone showed this "Touchscreen firmware update in progress" thing. Seemingly, this is the calibration phase the phone goes through to fix any calibration errors.
Now, I want to force the phone to go through this phase again, but for some reason, before every time when I had the previous screen and digitiser it went through this every single time I upgraded the rom, but now it doesn't do that at all.
I reinstalled different recoverys: TWRP and CWM (no calibration phase), I reinstalled different ROMS (cyanogenmod and Paranandroid) and I installed different modems (4.1 and 4.2), none of them had the result of pushing the phone into the "touchscreen firmware update in progress" phase. Any idea or tips how I could get the phone into this process?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Hi,
I own an Oneplus 2 for over a year now, in which I had to replace it's display two times . The first time I ordered a new display+digitizer assembly and replaced it myself, went great and everything worked fine. The second time was a month ago, I ordered the exact same display from the exact same seller on Ebay and did the replacement. I tested the display before assembling the Phone and it worked as it should. But an hour later when the phone was already assembled I discovered that the touch screen was completely unresponsive
After some trial and error I came to this conclusion:
the problem seems to be caused by applying a mild pressure anywhere on the bottom right quarter of the screen
the display does always respond when I hold my finger on it (with or without applying pressure) for about 4 seconds, then it sees my finger and I can swipe around (while still holding it down)
if I try the method above a few times, or let the phone rest on a desk for some time, the problem disappears and the touch screen works fine again.
So far, it looks like a hardware-issue, maybe a faulty screen or I messed something up while replacing it. But it gets weirder:
My OP2 is rooted and at the moment of replacement, it was running Lineage OS 14.1 (nightly, 2017-03-30). And when I wanted to update that to it's newest build, I realized that this whole touch screen problem doesn't exist in the TWRP recovery interface. It worked perfectly fine even when I tried to recreate the problem by applying firm pressures on every spot on the screen. So this made it look more like a software-issue, however the update of Lineage didn't resolve it and even restoring my backup of OxygenOS 3.5.6 didn't help.
I found this XDA-post about having firmware issues for the touchscreen with Android 7, but running their fix did not resolve anything either.
Right now my phone is pretty unusable since having it in my pocket is creating the problem. :crying:
Does anyone have any ideas of what the exact problem could be? Or anyone having similar issues? Why is it that there is no problem at all when booting into recovery (TWRP)?
It looks like loose connections between the display and digitizer.
After all it was a hardware issue. I disambled the phone again and after a lot of trial and error I found that there was something that came in contact with the back of the lcd that must have created a short cicuit or something. I placed a thin sheet of paper on the back of the lcd to prevent this and it all worked again! Still weird though that it didn't happen in TWRP.
