Hello All,
I got a nexus 4, which is backordered. As a result, my Nexus 10 which is on the same order, cannot ship until the Nexus 4 is in stock!?! Anyone else have the same issue with google?
Even small companies have the ability to split orders, I cannot believe that Google did not have the foresight to think of this. Anyone else in the same boat? Any info?
What other info do you need? They're not backordered indefinatly. It's just a few weeks. Google oversold. It happends. They'll treat you right.
Not sure if you fully read what I wrote. The Nexus 10 isn't backordered, the Nexus 4 is. Your post contributes nothing as (unless you work for Google or have insider info) everything you said is you guessing at info.
According to a Rep on the phone with me a few days ago, they were considering shipping orders separately. Anyone have this done recently? Anyone have any info from Google to share other than just "wait"?

I'm in the exact same situation as you are. I emailed Google to ask if they could possibly ship my Nexus 10 first, but they said no. Wasn't aware that they were considering shipping the devices separately, and I highly doubt they will. Just can't see them waiving shipping for two separate devices

The Nexus 4 when logging onto the device section of the playstore in the UK retails for £280 for the 16GB (Jawdropped) Has anyone bought a Nexus from the playstore from countries other than the US? Preferably if your from the UK, would really appreciate it. Also how long does it take to ship and what are the options if it got lost in shipping or for some reason got sent to the wrong address?
Also has anyone had these shipping issues? Sorry for the length of the message
I'll refer you to the original shipping thread for the nexus 7 to give you an idea of how that wemt. Pretty much covers us/uk/aus/canada.

Was pretty much a shambles. There were delays and orders seemed to go out in random order or newest orders first.
I'd recommend praying to whichever deity/higher power you believe in that the same doesn't happen and that lessons were learned.

Damn it thats got me worried :S They seem to have gotten better as time went on but it looks like a shambles near the start, guessing with that kind of pricing, this is going to be worse. Hoping that local phone shops carry on with the official pricing and not make it £500+ to fit in with the current high end phones -.-
1) Do I absolutely need 'Gooogle Wallet' for the purchase? Or I dont need to make an account?
2) I have read on a lot of threads and everyone says that it will ship on 13th or 17th. Can anyone confirm this date?
Thanks in advance.

1. I'm not 100% sure on this but I'm pretty sure if you just buy something on the play store with a credit card that means you have google wallet. I could be wrong. Go try to sign in to it.
2. http://www.androidauthority.com/google-ships-nexus-4-nexus-10-starting-november-13-no-pre-orders-130335/
You do need a google wallet account to buy the nexus 4. You can easily add a credit or debit card to the account.
I am reading one of the comments on page:
http://www.androidauthority.com/goo...10-starting-november-13-no-pre-orders-130335/
bozzykid ~ Why? So you could ship the phones on time and know how much demand you have for the product. Otherwise, it will be a disaster like the Nexus 7 and Chromebook launch.
How much time did it take for the nexus 7 to ship it to you?

I wouldn't worry about it. Google isnt going to make the same mistake twice. That would kill their rep
Can anyone tell or guess when is the 2nd batch of Nexus 4 going to available?
Hope next time there is enough inventory to meet such a huge demand

Someone posted in the other thread that they called the play store and the lady on the other end told him to check back in 3 days...
Not sure we're going to get much surer than that.
Even if we do, I'd take it with a grain of salt.
I called last night at about 2AM EST and they told me the Nexus 4 would go on sale at 9AM PST.
Lo and behold, it was sold out by the time I got on and checked around 850AM PST.
:/
Google outed the order page at 830 AM PST, there was a timeframe of about 2 minutes before their servers got hit hard and flooded, I had my phone in cart 5 minutes after the page went live, and I couldnt complete the purchase for another half hr, before then it was errors and non responsive google wallet popups when trying to check out.

Same thing with me, I tried to purchase it at 11:40 EST time and it took a good 20 minutes before I could complete the order because of the google wallet errors.
Who knows, Google guy said they will be trying to get more stock "in the coming weeks".
You can never tell with paper launches...
I can see why they wouldn't do pre-orders with these stock levels though, there's no good way to handle tens of thousands of pre-orders if you are only getting a few hundred in stock. You could just ship according to order time (although they completely failed to do this with the N7) but then you might still have the problem of pre-orders waiting for weeks or months after shipping starts if stock is very limited.
LG is probably cranking out Optimus G's as fast as they can while having one or two people slowly assembling Nexus 4's in the corner....
Do you realize how everything you said is retarded?
You think they had a few hundred in stock?
You think LG is manufacturing more Optimus G than Nexus4?

Most people don't even know it exists, let alone were hammering the website to beat the rush. Tell me compared to iphone nuts how many people do you think were hammering Play store all night to buy them out so fast? I'll I doubt they even had a ten thousand for North America or a thousand for Canada. There's a reason Google will never release numbers. They could prove me wrong...
Somehow I suspect that the Bell's launch of the Optimus G here had as much or more stock as the Google had Nexus 4 in Canada.
Selling out in minutes when relatively few people were even trying to get one screams paper launch.

Seems consistent with my experience. I got in there within about 20 seconds of the page going up and just clicked through and completed the transaction - I was shocked that it actually worked. Obviously beating the news had a great deal to do with it (as did having wallet all set up).
I did notice the coming soon and in stock messages tended to go back and forth over the next 10-20 minutes. Maybe they had issues updating all their mirrors or something.
They should have set it up like:
no more than 2 phones per a google account. someone getting 10 orders of four phones is flat out wrong.
set up a que. you're assigned a number when you add the device to the cart and can make the purchase, using the rules above, when you're number is up.
seems pretty fair.

They really let people make multiple orders of several phones and suck up stock like that? What a mess.
Please people don't reward those jerks by buying the phones from them at inflated prices. Myself I hate buying 2nd-hand because you're asking for trouble if you need warranty service.
They should simply accept pre Orders!

Apparently from the link above, yeah
Kinda hurts the folks like us who just want one, or, two for a friend/gf/wife/husband/etc/whatever...
If there will be more in three days, which make is Friday, then I can wait.
One would think, being, el google, that the smart people there would have stuff like this figured out already.

I wonder if the stock is so limited that pre-orders would be an even bigger mess.
Doing it this way it will just be very hard to order one as stock trickles in. "OMG people it is flying off the shelves!"
With preorders it could be possible that it takes several weeks or even months to ship out all the preorders as stock comes in. In that case the rage and frustration would really boil over. "We are doing our best to fill orders *whimper*"

I guess I would be better off feeling better with a pre-order + payment on a first come, first served basis than having to deal with the way the Play Store was running today.

Preorders failed completely with the nexus 7 which is probably why they are trying something else. Unfortunately it still doesn't work.
At least with the 7 preorder you could actually place an order even though deliveries were then either delayed, sent to incorrect addresses or sent out last come first served.

Are they the first in line to get the devices or do they have to buy from the store like the rest of us?
if you work deving for Google you get a rooted/unlocked one. Not sure it's for much but photo ops these days. But you can get them off eBay occasionally

If this source is correct, Google employees had to order just the same as everyone else and a lot of them missed out on buying one too

Didn't get yours? That's okay...neither did I...and neither did a lot of Google staff...yet (yes, they order phones just like the rest of us). You will, though...you will. If you don't get it today, the next scheduled release is in 3 days once they can get a better handle on orders and stock.

The reason I asked is because a known Google employee purchased my extra Nexus 4 on ebay so I believe it is correct.
I just thought it was a trap lol.
The guy I talked to for Google Canada said he never even got a chance to order one.

The higher up guys at google probably got them free or had first hand dibs when they got the shipment (before it went on sale)
CS guys have to pay like everyone else i'm assuming.
I can just imagine all the Google employees dropping all their work and you just see them all constantly hitting F5 at launch time ^_^
No you have to order same as everyone else. UNLESS you are directly involved in development or senior executive

I work for one of Google's partner companies and I have to speak with their client account team members daily. Last year, when the Galaxy Nexus came out, they all received one with a special battery cover the day before the launch without having to order or wait. However, this time around I've had a few of them confirm that they had to order the phone like the rest of us. Of the 5 account team members I've spoken to in the last day or so, not a single one was able to get an order in for an N4 and most were amazed that I was able to.
There are a bunch of us who ordered 64GB Nexus 6s early on 11/19 (or late on 11/18), who still don't have their orders, despite many others who already have their orders who ordered AFTER us. T-Mobile doesn't seem to think there's a problem with this, can't tell us anything about when we could possibly see our orders, and has more or less told us that they won't do anything because there's no evidence that their system screwed up. To that end, we've started tracking 64GB Nexus 6 orders in a spreadsheet, here. We're hoping, that by collecting this data, we can show them that we know we're being screwed over, and that they need to get straightened out.
If you, or a loved one ordered a 64GB Nexus 6 on or around the morning of 11/19, please feel free to add your information to the spreadsheet. Also, if you happen to have ordered after about 10AM PST on 11/19 we'd really like to have your information, especially.
In case anyone missed it @askdes gave quite a response last night. He did make one very good point. What we are doing here is helping to make everyone that ordered a 64gb Nexus 6 feel that they are entitled to receiving their phone in a timely manner. Please remember that the issue here is that people that ordered during the early launch time frame may have been missed somehow while others that placed orders later are receiving their phones. We should all know by now (or at least have an idea) that Google/Motorola are having some kind of manufacturing issue. The only reason we are upset with T-mobile is that they have not been forthcoming with accurate information as to why some people were "accidentally" skipped over. That is it.
@casbar no one has been intentionally skipped. I have enlisted a great deal of people to make sure any errors are found & fixed it takes great deal of time and effort. Days not hours, and the manufacturer has not helped. I am trying to not throw anyone under the bus here. The problem is now there are people who ordered much later and think they are entitled to deliveries earlier and that is not the case and it makes it more difficult to help the people who may have had a legitimate issue but we will help every customer because that is what we do! - Des

I do believe that T-Mobile is attempting to correct any errors on their part. We should be as patient as possible and collect any information that will help us build an understanding of what may have happened if for nothing else to help T-Mobile resolve this situation.
I added my info as well.
Added the following info:
Ordered from: www.tmobile.com
Ordered: Motorola Nexus 6 64GB Blue.
Order date: 11/19/2014 at 07:24 AM PST
Delivered On: 11/21/2014 at 1:10 PM PST
if tmobile establishes an order of responding then the company is intentionally skipping over certain customers by design, albiet it is a temporary skip since at some point in the scheme they will be filled. so, in my opinion des is still perpetuating a huge lie. the way tmobile can come clean is to just fill the orders as they were placed.
Added my info. At least I got 50$ credit for cyber Monday. I implore everyone who has not already done so to call and get credited if you ordered before Monday.
whats funny is that i ordered mine for next day delivery, and the delivery information only showed up for me 24 hours after i received it.
Just added my info.

Same here, I guess we were both in the same shoes. I ordered on the first day (Wednesday) and received it the following day.
Although for me I keep my music on local storage and still have space to work with. I take the train so music in the cloud isn't good for me.
Don't throw anyone on the bus? Really... If I have to go on the interwebs and find out this information on a forum when neither T-mobile rep on call or webchat have any clue and deny everything and the sytem says absolutely nothing, they are more than complicit and not truly "fixing" anything wholeheartedly or taking responsibility for their mistake.
**** happens? I believe it. Not going to be mad about that. Continuously lying, ignoring, trivializing, or shirking blame? **** you.
My cyber Monday order says backordered but pending shipping.
T-Mobile 19er 64Gb BLUE
well after reading almost 10,000 post in both "Nexus 6 Waiting Room" and "T-Mobile receiving limited stock" I think we people who ordered 11/19 from T-MOBILE or there abouts, then put on backorder to 11/25, are getting lost in the orders from GPS and MOTO.
I have neither received on read about anybody have any info on these orders. Does any info
exist on these orders Anyone, Anything.
I ordered on the 20th..backorder 21st...in same boat with no estimates..tried executive CSR, store CSR, and website with no luck.
I sent another email to the exec team as some people have time frames for shipping populate using website order tracking...but my order shows nothing
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I put out a Twitter (twit, tweet, twiddle?) today for T-Mobile sort of publicly asking for any sort of shipping status. They immediately got back to me and asked me to direct message them but then was promptly asked the same questions on my order that the phone and chat reps have asked me all the time about my order.
As far as I know I'm still on backorder from 11/25 (ordered the 19th) and nobody has any idea when I'll get this phone.
I'm patient and don't care if I receive it in February, I just want to know if I'm going to be receiving it and when. Especially with holidays and travelling coming up I don't want to risk having the thing sit on my doorstep for days/weeks while I'm gone. Just any little drop of info would be awesome.
So we know that at a minimum Google, Motorola and T-Mobile are having issues with managing orders for this phone.
Either hundreds of thousands are ordering or this is the "demon core" of smart phones.
System Generated Message
Just got the system generated message from TMO that my order will be delayed until (between) 1/9/14 and 1/23/14... and that is anything changes, I will know because it will ship... (duh) I'm lucky that I got a 32GB and at this point really don't need the 64GB but its just a matter of principle now..
T-Mobile via Twitter has told me 6 - 8 weeks from order date
