Guys, The news is that Nexus one is now available for Pre order with Free Shipping but the thing is it costs around $999 on google checkout.......
Where did you find this "news"?
URL?
google checkout eh, link
But this isn't the official google page. 1000$ would be stupid, thy won't sell one device. For 530$ I would get one asap.
Is it just for USA or any news on it coming out in the UK too?
as far s I understood google will ship it worldwide

Yes, this dosent seem like a good idea. Also from what I understand the big G will be only one actually selling the phone, legally that is.
acerliquid and nexus root
do they have an acer liquid and nexus root yet!??
this doesnt seem very legit to me. I didn't think the nexus had an fm radio rcvr... The phones listed as "import" not covered by manufacturer.

20 bucks says the seller doesn't even have one yet. They are just hoping to get more money than its worth before they buy one from Google tomorrow.
dont think i would buy from this seller that has only a 5 feedback rating and only registered since oct 09 .... i would stay far far away

Tried to order one today (UK). But i've not been able to even view any page about the phone, so as usual it seems like you have to know someone to ship it from the US to get hold of them.
So... As the title says, can one person buy 2 nexus 4 via google play ?
I can't see what's stopping you...
Considering you can change the order quantity on Google Play for the Nexus 7, I see no reason why Google wouldn't allow us to do the same with the Nexus 4.
Thank you very very much !

This is what I was thinking. You can buy as many Nexus 7's as you want in one order. The Nexus 4 will sell many more units and sell out much quicker if Google does the same with the Nexus 4. They would be stupid to limit one per customer.

so, some ppl will buy N4 as much as they want, then sell it out to another customers with higher prices.
is that the reason for google makes this 'beast' cheap on google play?

Things like that really piss me off. It reminds me of Black Friday last year.
I just called Google Play support. They allow 10 Nexus 4 purchases per account per day. You can save quite a bit of money on shipping if you make your purchases all on one order.
What if we want to order one device with 8 gb storage and the other 16 gb? I mean u place the order for one device, fill in all the info (CC/Address etc) and proceed to check out.. then u start the process again and re-enter all he data again.. so will we be charged the shipping separately on both the units? Although both will have same CC and shipping address.
Why an I asking this? because from what i can see here (https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_4_16gb) u can either select 8 gb or 16 gb in single transaction.
Nobody can know the answers to these questions but Google and they aren't talking about it as far as I know.

I called Google, too... the guy told me 2 devices was the limit, per day though. I'm looking to buy 3, one for myself and 2 for Chilean friends who can't purchase it online. I was told I could get the 3rd one next day.
Guess we'll have to wait until Nov 13th comes and see what happens...
What? Which country do you live in? I'm very glad that you brought this up because I am going to be angry if a Google rep flat out lied to me over the phone this afternoon. I live in the U.S., bu the way.

I'm just curious as to why Google is not offering pre orders? Are they planning on pushing the release date back last minute? To me it doesn't make sense. With how many hundreds of thousands of people all trying to purchase one of these at midnight the minute it becomes available, I can for see the Google play store being overloaded and Google not being able to process orders efficiently. A pre order makes sense to me.

The same thing would happen no matter what date they put on it. If they started accepting preorders tomorrow, there would be the exact same situation then as on the 13th.
I think it'll take a couple of days for them to get the initial orders shipped out.
I'm expecting a logistics fail just like the N7. My guess is they just don't want it to be as bad, so they are pulling pre-order out of the equation.
I'm going to wait till after thanksgiving and save myself the headache of wondering if/when it'll ship and if I'll actually be around or not to sign for it.
One reason..... Nexus Q.
In theory, if needed, Google could push the release another month, and nobody could gripe.

I kind of hoping they will use the signup for notification as a kind of tool to reduce the rush. Maybe when they contactus that the Nexus 4 is available then they will include some kind of code that will place our order in line with when we showed interest. Any that did not show interest will have to wait until after they fill the interested request. At least I would like something like that.

Not quite. If they put pre orders up today, they would have until the 13th to get it all straightened out. So even if the play store crashed right now, they at least have 5 days to process any orders already in there. Waiting until the 13th to accept any payments is a recipe for disaster.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
And really they could have all these orders processed and ready to ship. Software update would be pushed ota as soon as the customer turns on the phone and sets up their Google account.
Not sure why Google wouldn't do the background work ahead of time like taking orders.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
To be honest I am not surprised and am pleased google realized the nexus 7 pre order was a disaster. If they can not handle the volume like apple, stop the pre order so that they can honestly forecast when they will ship. I know many of you will not like my opinion but I was not happy with my nexus 7 pre order process. I will gladly wait until launch date for the nexus 4.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
But what I'm trying to say is if say 300,000 people all place an order as soon as they can which will overload the play store, wouldn't it make more sense to have it overloaded BEFORE launch date? That way they have a few days to get it up and running again? If 300,000 people placing an order at once crashes the play store, why would u want it to happen on launch day? For arguments sake, say it takes 3 days to restore the servers and get up and running again. I would rather those 3 days be Friday Saturday and Sunday, not Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. To me its a no brainer. Preorders always make sense to me IMO.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
Google play customer support told me the only reason why they would have pre orders is to have an estimate of how many units to manufacture but the nexus 4 is already in mass production and should be ready to meet consumer needs. Only downfall is we'll probably prove them wrong lol

Wow... people really whine about not being able to order an item before its for sale?
Its like crying for not being able to pay for something earlier with no effect on how quick I'll get it. It wouldn't be faster, there's a reason why they take orders the 13th of November instead of the 11 or 12th. You pre-order wouldn't be "sitting in boxes" waiting for a date to flip for the sake of it.
They start taking orders the 13th. Don't expect to get it the 14th either
Probably 3-5 processing days. And processing isn t just sorting boxes, it can just as much be that they don't get the actual device for a few more days.
Anyways, I really hope that you don't cry at your landlord that you would like to pay for your rent in advance.

I dont think you read my post. A pre order option does absolutely NO HARM. I work in sales and deal with purchase orders on an every day basis. I know for a fact that if I want to ship material out on the 13th, I would like to have the purchase order BEFORE HAND. Its called being prepared. You make sure you have the inventory. You make sure you have the payment. You make sure you have the shipping address. You make sure you have the order correct. Its called the background work. Contract Review. If a customer issued a purchase order to me on the 13th wanting their purchase to ship on the 13th, it is most likely not going to happen. ESPECIALLY when how many hundreds of thousands of people are issuing their purchase orders ALL AT ONCE. If Google wants to say the 13th is the release date for shipping, then having a preorder option is the best solution. If they want to say the 13th is when they start accepting payment, then really that is just a preorder itself. Because I can assure you that everyone who places an order on the 13th will not have their phone shipped that day. Yes I am aware of processing times and everything. What I am trying to say is you have the processing time taking place before the phone is set to ship. You have your orders in place, payment accepted, an understanding of how many devices are going out and to where and when. That kind of stuff can be done before the phone is even ready to ship. Its not rocket science. So take a minute and think logically about what you are saying before you reply.

Explain to me exactly what part in there tells you "shipping"?
Available for purchase on Tuesday, Nov. 13th.
My point is... their PLAN is probably not to start SHIPPING the 13th, probably the 14th or 15th. That is the best wording you could use for that purpose.
I doubt it is pre-order starting the 13th though. But no reason to expect getting a device before the 20th or so.
Are they the first in line to get the devices or do they have to buy from the store like the rest of us?

I work for one of Google's partner companies and I have to speak with their client account team members daily. Last year, when the Galaxy Nexus came out, they all received one with a special battery cover the day before the launch without having to order or wait. However, this time around I've had a few of them confirm that they had to order the phone like the rest of us. Of the 5 account team members I've spoken to in the last day or so, not a single one was able to get an order in for an N4 and most were amazed that I was able to.
The Nexus 4 is supposed to become available from the Play Store again at 12PM Pacific Time. I'm planning on ordering one once it's in stock. I'm guessing the prices will stay the same (Why would they change?). Who else is planning on ordering one?

I think I will be purchasing another. I want to return mine to T-Mobile since I bought it $499 off contract, plus tax. Everything amounted to about $543 - so I'll be saving a good chunk of money purchasing the Nexus 4 through Google.
I'm debating it - 8GB is bullspit. I would like to take my chances and getting a 16GB. It's honestly not thaaaat huge a deal though.
Getting one and putting it on the $30 T-mobile plan. Gonna mess around with it and probably resell it or trade it for a yellow lumia 920

In order to get the N4 you might have to move to Firefox from Chrome for the next half hour. I know on Firefox there is an add-on/widget that reloads any page you want every 5 seconds. Just keep the Firefox window with the Nexus 4 Play Store page open and see-able so once the device is available, you'll be one of the first to see it and be able to order the N4. I might think of doing that lol.

For me it was 5 business days. I got shipping notification on Monday evening, UPS got it on Tuesday morning, and I got it 7 hours later that same morning.
I was thinking about ordering, to resell my current 8gb and snag a 16gb, but 1) 8gb is enough for me and 2) I think the resell market is going to tank once this second batch comes out and supply meets demand.
