Hi guys,
so i got my N7 a few days ago and about 5 min later the "Camera Launcher for Nexus 7" app.
I wanted to see how "bad" the camera is and tried it on stock 4.1.2 w/o root. It stutters like the camera sensor is only working with 10 or 15 fps.
Then i thought "maybe it's a root thing" so i rooted my N7 and it still stuttered. I looked here in the forums and found the 720p mod so i tried this and still, stuttering.
I pulled a testvideo on my PC and looked in the filedetails and saw that is was recorded with 7fps.
So my question is, is it a hardware related issue or a software issue?
Hope someone can help me here.
Old thread, I know, but I have the save problem. Bought a used nexus 7 a couple days ago to replace out broken iPad mini 2. Camera runs with estimated 5fps on 5.1.1. Abysmal. Is there a quick fix for that? I want to wait for the marshmallow update and see if it fixes that, and then will consider a custom rom.

Hey! I thought that I had a flawless Nexus 7. That wasn't true!
I played Puddle THD for 30 minutes and back in the homescreen my screen wasn't detecting where I touched.

This is very frustating since I worked hard to get this tablet. I am running Stock firmware but I'm unlocked/rooted. I was wondering if there was a fix or if this problem is present in every tablet. Thanks.
Mine has been perfect so far. Mine is still stock jellybean though.

The issue in the video seems to be the same one being discussed in this thread:

Although a few of the people in the thread will start calling you a crybaby for even thinking that this is a problem.
Hi Guys
I got a Nexus 4 a few days ago, coming from a Nexus S. I haven't touched it (rooted, unlocked etc.) so it's completely stock.
I got the update notification for 4.3 a few minutes after I switched the phone on. I let it finish downloading all of the apps before applying the update.
Now after using the phone for a few days I have been getting a few reboots out of nowhere... one was using Snapchat, second one was switching from front facing camera to rear camera in the camera app and the third happened when hanging up a call.
This is completely foreign for me coming from the NS as it was rock solid on pretty much any rom I tried. Lastly I was on a stock 4.1.2 rom which just kept going without any hiccups at all (and still is, gf got the NS now)
Anybody else experiencing similar issues?

I actually got a few reboots after updating to 4.3. While trying to take a photo with cameraZoom. Happened in the middle of the desert though so i blamed it to the heat.
But it is kinda strange that both your reboots and mine are camera related and occured after 4.3...
Snapchat has a few issues on 4.3, it randomly reboots for me as well.
Since the last update to the Google photos app on both mine and my wife's Nexus 10 both running lollipop 5.1.1, videos stutter as if its missing frames or don't show any image at all just sound. It all works fine on my Nexus 5 so must be specific to the Nexus 10. Has anyone else noticed this and found a solution?

Have the same problem.
Went to App-Info and uninstalled updates.
Is this the only solution for now?
Yes. I have just received another update to the photos app but its still the same. Let's hope Google fix it soon.

Bad thing is I have this issue on nexus 6. It definitely needs a fix!
I have the same issue. But what's interesting here is that unlike the first post's writer told I have it on nexus 5 running android 5.1.1. Currently using MX player and videos work just fine.
Hmmm. Also Nexus 6 here.
I have the same problem on my Nexus 6. I though it started when I uninstalled a previous update to Camera/Photos last month sometime. Every video I playback through Photos stutters, but at least through Camera I can change the default video player. Wish I could do the same for Photos. Also, just notice a generally lag on my Nexus 6 recently...
I hate wiping and starting fresh, but I just may have to.
The bug is still here. Version 1.30 on Nexus 6. Damned mumbai programmers...
The stuttering is still here on v. 1.4.0.102264174 on Nexus 6 running android 5.1.1_r12. However, the issue can be fixed by going to developer settings and switching from NuPlayer to AwesomePlayer in Media settings.

Wow, thanks Kariharri! That works!
I'm having a ton of issues with my stock never unlocked nexus 6p. I don't get notifications after a time on WiFi. My Moto 360 watch rarely connects anymore. Performance is horrible (Video is oftentimes choppy). I've avoided facebook and quite a few other apps and nothing is fishy on battery stats, or anything else. Honestly this has been the worst Nexus experience I've had. I almost fastboot unlocked when I got the phone and went straight for CM or other ROM, but thought I'd keep stock. I'm about 7 months into this phone and about ready to throw it out a window. I had issues on Android (performance on the GNex, modem issues with my OnePlus One, Nexus 4 was nearly flawless for 2 years)but never these kind of stutters and performance issues for a 'flagship'.
Anyways, I'm wondering if a factory reset is in order... but if I"m doing that I might as well unlock and go for CM13 or other ROM hoping it gives me a bit better luck. It's either that or go iPhone much to my boss and wife's delight and to my chagrin. Thoughts?
1.why android 11 and greater is not compiling for nexus 6p?
2.which best rom. stock android 8.1 or pixel dust android 10

Ive been seaching for Android 12 or 13 roms for months, its seems they dont exist for nexus 6P. its weird considering ive came across Android 12 and 13 ROMs for Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and also Nexus 5x.
Ive been using Pixel Dust 10, After installing almost all the Custom ROMs out there for Nexus 6p, I have been using Pixel Dust 10 flawlessly without any problem. I think it is the best ROMs for angler.

Does your camera works fine under Pixel Dust 10? As when I installed it, I could use camera for about one minute or few takes then camera windows went black and only restarting phone would make it work again.
Some times I had issue with Chrome but over all it was working pretty good
I have now returned to original Oreo 8.1 and looks like battery is working better as the phone it self. Ai
Although I have issue with Google play store, which I described on another post.

It has been a 2 month since ive used Pixel Dust now, Since im using Nexus 6p as a secondary phone i rarely take pictures with it. The sock camera app kept crashing so i moved to "open camera", which has been working fine for me. I have not experiences any issues with Chrome yet or any other app for that matter. My only issue now is the battery performance, i can only hot 2 hours of youtube video playback. its nice that you returned to 8.1, but i perosnally feel like i would lose lots of functionalities that i love like Always on Display.
