Hello,
My DefyPlus is gone to after sales service for dead pixels on the LCD screen, and the seller of the phone shop who sent my phone in warranty saw that the pellet moisture is became red on the battery, BUT I have never taken my phone in water or other liquid and I always had conserved my phone in good conditions. The seller was nice and all the same sent my phone to warranty but she says me that it's not sure that the after sales services' technicians accept to repair my phone.
So I know now where are the pellet moisture on the battery but I ask you if it's the one and only pellet moisture on the DefyPlus or if there is an other pellet on the phone, for example indoor the phone, on the motherboard... If the after sales service didn't repair my phone I have planed to buy a new original battery with in consequence a "clean" pellet moisture.
Thank you in advance !

There is one more below the battery. Also mine is red too, even though it has not been exposed to water...
A big scam of consumer society ...
Ok many thanks !!!
I search on Google for the pellet moisture even on other models phones and I saw that it's in some cases a scam of constructors in order to delete our warranty and force us to pay the intervention or buy a new phone --'
I also had a red moister pellet on battery, but before sending to warranty service I peel it off, and then they could f... off , and phone was repaired for free

My Touch HD developed a fault with what appeared to me, after reading similar reports here, a problem with the digitiser. The touch screen would work fine until I locked it, and then after unlocking the bottom third would be out of alignment by between 5-10mm. This could be fixed by realigning but the problem would return after locking the phone.
It is still under warranty (it's 12 months old), so I sent it back to HTC for repair. They replied to say the fault is caused by damage and wasn't covered by warranty.
This was the quote for repair (£):
Level 3 - MB+LCD replacement 193.29
Level 4 - Average Repair 23.07
Level 5 - Full Plastic Refurbishment 19.74
Labour 24.00
Delivery 8.64
VAT 47.03
Total 315.77
I got back to them to ask what the damage was and they stated:
"customer abuse IW ( liquid damaged) : Replace MB , LCD and Full refurbishment."
Never has my phone at any time been in contact with water. It was returned to them by their courier so surely wouldn't have undergone any water damage in transit as couriers put them in waterproof bags so I'm objecting to their claim and want to take it further.
Does anyone have any experience of HTC repair making false claims or any advice they can give me?
There is a sticker underneath the battery, in the bottom part, that turns red when in contact with water. You should check that. It should be completely white if untouched.
Just a small thought on the water thingy. Can't help otherwise.
I sent in my LG E900 for repair to Regeneris in the UK and a week later I receiced a letter saying that the repair would cost £175. I called LG who said the technician had said there was water damage.
I blew a fuse as I said there had never been any water damage. I have looked after my phone and its 1.5yrs old but it looks in good condition. I know I have never dropped it in water. The phone started to switch off randomly until it stopped turning on.
Initially LG refused repair as they said the phone only comes with 12 months warranty but my warranty card stated 24 months. I had to email them a copy of the card.
Now they are saying either I pay £175 or pay them £23.50 to return the phone.
What should I do. I want to fight this as I am very angry at LG. I can say catergorically there has been no water damage.
That's why I stick to Samsung

even samsung will not repair in warranty, water damaged phone are never covered in warranty. Thats y looking for Xperia Z
So I received the Engineers report - well 4 pictures showing the damage.
Their assessment was the damage indicates liquid ingress as their are signs of corrosion but no water sensor has been tripped. They also accepted that this corrosion could be caused by moisture build up in normal day to day useage.
So either the phone was not fit for purpose when sold -ie a bad design letting moisture build up or the damage was not caused by liquid ingress. I put this to them and the repair company said not our concern take it up with LG.
So I have sent the emails to LG. The repairers cannot say 100% that liquid ingres caused damage as no sensor has been tripped.
My Redmi Note 4G was in my bag and water leaked from my water bottle, then the phone was wet and powered off.
Later on powering on the device I found out that the device was powering on but the touchscreen was completely gone, i.e. zero response to any touch. So I ofc went to service centre in Mumbai, India. and they told me there's liquid damage and display needs to be replaced which will cost ₹5300. The phone ****ing itself is worth ₹9999, and more than 50% needed for ****ing display.
I just wanna avoid this cost, it's in-warranty but damn liquid damage ain't covered.
Anyway I can fix it cheap?
Hey guys,
So I had my phone repaired the other day by a Authorized Samsung Repair Centre in Toronto. The USB port was fried and they had to open up the device. I'm wondering if any of you out there had your phone repaired by one of these authorized places and still kept the integrity of the water resistance and would it be safe to have it near water? Thanks I will advance!

I repaired in India from authorised SC, well when they open the device than it wont remain water resistant, but at the time of packing it they applied some tube at all corner and than put back Glass. They said now its water resistant. After that used it in Rain and no water issue faced. But still I have doubt about company manufacturing and Service centre repairing.
I got my screen replaced by sammy care recently and this is what they said.
Basically any non sc tech can repair but they use glue to put phone back together which voids warranty.
Sammy tecks use gaskets/seals hence water resistance over glue.
I havent tried it in water not cause im skeptical but cause i havent gone to any pools. I normally though my phone in charge pad while i shower.
I dropped my phone in the water and the water damage sticker turned red. Does anyone know where you can purchase them.
no idea. but can you answer us something...
how long it was in the water, did the device go under as in submerged, and does it still work, thanks.
Changing those stickers is considered fraud. Best to just leave it. I do recommend taking it to highly rated repair shop to have the board cleaned of all corrosion so it doesn't die in you randomly later on.
