So, this tablet is a great purchase don't get me wrong but the more I play with it the more I see force closing, freezing, and lag. Just not as snappy as my phone. My question is, is it the tablet or is it jellybean? I know jellybean is brand spankin new, so could this be the reason why these apps are force closing? Facebook and ALL browsers I've tried are the worst. And also for some reason it freezes a lot just when I go to my settings. Very annoying waiting for the simple stuff. Let me know if I'm the only one please. Thanks

Im the opposite way. all my apps run smoothly. I may get a bit of lag once in a blue moon but it doesnt bother me. Chrome is also very quick too.
Well if you ask Rovio, it's jelly beans fault. I asked them about Amazing Alex not being available and got:
"Unfortunately Nexus 7 can not be added to the compatible devices due to its non standard way of reading the game's manifest file. This is something we can not change, it's up to the device manufacturer and Operation System manufacturer."
Amazing Alex is running beautifully on my N7. Available from Amazon App Store, so that pretty much makes that last post a complete fabrication of fact.

I also thought that Amazing Alex being incompatible seemed weird given that it works on Tegra phones...
A load of applications just don't seem to be ready for high resolutions, and don't look right. Given that this device has truly taken off I imagine everyone will start to include 1280 layouts.
I'm grabbing stuff through the Play Store onto my Tab 2 7.0 and the using ROM Toolbox to make a backup, then sideloading the backup .apks on the N7. So far everything has worked just peachy. Probably my number one annoyance at this point with the device. (Previous number one annoyances were "Why is this thing so hard to root after the last OTA or is it my Tab 2 drivers getting in the way?", and after that it was "How in the world do I get Flash to work, why is Dolphin HD not working with Flash?")

You guys should email Rovio.
Amazon Appstore doesn't have strict device policies for apps, so that's why you were able to install it and find out it works fine.
The Play Store, developers have tons of settings for device policies on apps, so they can exclude some devices, or can automatically exclude some devices (and they don't even know that it did).

Funny, it wasn't available for download from the Play store as of last night. I guess Rovio must have updated the software?

I agree that what Rovio told me is bs, as sideloading produced no issues. I was just saying what Rovio told me.
What is amazing Alex. And what is rovio?

Rovio is the developer that created Angry Birds. Amazing Alex is from the developer Rovio.
Why is there yet another thread about app compatibility? Are these people all fresh and new to Android or something? Relax, the OS just launched, give it a few weeks - this is ridiculous now!
Even though YouTube app runs, it is indeed incompatible. Go to Play Store, you won't see it under your "Installed" list. You can't search it in Play store either (because it's incompatible with JB).
Is spotify supposed to be working? I ask as I cannot get the search feature to work at all and so am limited to playing my playlists only.
Amazing Alex HD plays fine here. The only game I found to run like crap is the Not-So-Amazing-Spider-Man.
-Its probably Tegra drivers and not Jelly Bean's fault.

Yep - just listening to an album right now via searching. Maybe try reinstalling?

Suppose Person A and Person B own a Nexus 7 and have logged into their user accounts. Both A & B own two different Android Phones. Now, A purchases an app on either of his devices. Would B be able to use the paid app? On which device(s)?
is that a trick question?
whatever A buys, B can't legally use, B has to buy it him/herself.

Unless they add each of their accounts in the Play store. I do this on the various tabs in my house. I log in through the Play store and download my apps... then just remove the account or setup a pin.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
All apps are bound to the GOOGLE account, so whatever account you buy something on, whether it be on a phone, tablet, on the play Web page, the app will be shown to whatever user/device that account is attached 2, if person b has their own account then they won't see it.
Multi user is designed to make each user feel like it's their tablet, not a shared one. It's like me asking if I can use an app that you have paid for.

I have two google accounts and i've bought some apps in the first...i have added both the accounts in the N7 and I could normally download the already payed apps...Then I discovered that i can use them even if i remove the account...but if the account si not your it isn't legal....

iDont really want them having a google account and want to be able to install already paid for apps on to their tablest.Just worried if linked to my account that they can download at will,is here a way to restrict this

You can set up play store to have a pin whenever you try to make a purchase (it is somewhere in play store settings). Some here have said that it is quite easy for kids to get around but I am sure there are ways and means to stop them.
Edit I just found this for some added security

If they learn how to clear the Play Store cache in Settings - Apps, that'll remove the PIN and they'll be able to do what ever they want. I had to do this on my gf's son's as she forgot the PIN to his account, and he couldn't download what he wanted to with his Play Store credit.

My brother and I both have Nexus 7's. When we buy pc games one of us buys it and we both install it on our laptops (I'm 16 so I still live at home with family including my brother). Is there some way for my brother to play games on his nexus that I bought on mine (without having him sign into my Google account)? I know some file explorers (like androzip) have a "backup" option which packs the app back into an apk but it fails when I try it on paid apps (obviously drm).
Thanks

The best way is to share the same google account, if not it is indirectly a way of piracy, based on my point of view my friend.
Sent from my Nokia 3310
The only problem with sharing one account is you cannot play games very well, because say your halfway through level 5 on mc4, if your bro wants to play you would have to start a new game and loses your progress. Really stupid and fustrating as tablets are not really individual minded I don't think. I did read somewhere that you can share apps, but you have to be rooted for it to work.
Shared through a common Google account is the only legitimate way.
Could be a new Google account, used only for buying apps.

That's because Google Play is view only at the moment. Attempting to download is not advised, yet.

I think most users are aware that this forum is for the HD2012,
Currently there is no dedicated form form for 2013 version so this one is the closest.

@LE: Is there any solution to get the Google Play Store working on the KFHD7 11.3.1.0 you know of?
Or will I just have to wait it out? Thanks and greetings!
