Suppose Person A and Person B own a Nexus 7 and have logged into their user accounts. Both A & B own two different Android Phones. Now, A purchases an app on either of his devices. Would B be able to use the paid app? On which device(s)?
is that a trick question?
whatever A buys, B can't legally use, B has to buy it him/herself.

Unless they add each of their accounts in the Play store. I do this on the various tabs in my house. I log in through the Play store and download my apps... then just remove the account or setup a pin.

All apps are bound to the GOOGLE account, so whatever account you buy something on, whether it be on a phone, tablet, on the play Web page, the app will be shown to whatever user/device that account is attached 2, if person b has their own account then they won't see it.
Multi user is designed to make each user feel like it's their tablet, not a shared one. It's like me asking if I can use an app that you have paid for.

I received my Nexus 7 today and promptly got it activated with my Google account, all is well. But now when I go to Google Play from my desktop computer so I can queue app downloads, suddenly I have an extra device listed in my available devices. Specifically, I now have a T-Mobile Samsung GT-N7000 listed, a.k.a. the Galaxy Note (which technically isn't even available yet).
Anybody else get this? I'm a bit worried that my account has been compromised.
Edit: I'm not worried about my account anymore. I looked up the device in my Play account and noticed that it was activated on July 5th, but there's been absolutely no usage history for it. The "Last used" area shows up as blank. I'm guessing that one of my existing devices must have triggered it with one of the custom ROMs I was using, but I'm not sure. Still, it's crazy behavior to see.
Congratulations!
But seriously, I would change my password and remove the device just to be safe.

I can't deauthorize a device from Google Play. I can deauthorize a device from Music, but not the account as a whole.
Hi I just bought a nexus 7 tablet and I just had a question regarding buying games and apps from the google play store, say if I purchased the new need for speed most wanted game from the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.games.nfs13_row&feature=search_result with my nexus 7 tablet, does that mean the game will be locked to my nexus 7 tablet,or will I be able to use the game with my nexus 10 tablet that I will be buying in a few weeks time when it gets released.
I am just a bit worried that any purchases will be locked to the tablet I buy it on.
Your purchases, and any downloads for that matter, made through Play Store are linked to your Google account. Provided the apps are compatible with whichever device you purchase, they can be installed, through the Play Store, to any device you have that is registered with your Google account.

Thanks for the reply,so does that also mean that I can have the same game I paid for installed on both machines at the same time or only one device at a time.

Both. I used to share my account with a friend and we split the cost of all games because we had identical tablets

You can set up play store to have a pin whenever you try to make a purchase (it is somewhere in play store settings). Some here have said that it is quite easy for kids to get around but I am sure there are ways and means to stop them.
Edit I just found this for some added security

If they learn how to clear the Play Store cache in Settings - Apps, that'll remove the PIN and they'll be able to do what ever they want. I had to do this on my gf's son's as she forgot the PIN to his account, and he couldn't download what he wanted to with his Play Store credit.

My brother and I both have Nexus 7's. When we buy pc games one of us buys it and we both install it on our laptops (I'm 16 so I still live at home with family including my brother). Is there some way for my brother to play games on his nexus that I bought on mine (without having him sign into my Google account)? I know some file explorers (like androzip) have a "backup" option which packs the app back into an apk but it fails when I try it on paid apps (obviously drm).
Thanks

The best way is to share the same google account, if not it is indirectly a way of piracy, based on my point of view my friend.

The only problem with sharing one account is you cannot play games very well, because say your halfway through level 5 on mc4, if your bro wants to play you would have to start a new game and loses your progress. Really stupid and fustrating as tablets are not really individual minded I don't think. I did read somewhere that you can share apps, but you have to be rooted for it to work.
Shared through a common Google account is the only legitimate way.
Could be a new Google account, used only for buying apps.

I deleted my main google account from my phone because I no longer use it and I'm using a different gmail account. That account is on my phone and trying to connect everything in the Android Play Store to it, but none of my apps are connecting to it in the Play Store.
How do I connect all the Play Store apps to my other account? Thx!

You probably want to contact Google and have them move the apps over. Don't think there's another way

No... just off of my phone is all.
Just got off the phone with them and they said, due to copyright reasons, they cannot transfer over the apps to the new account. So back on my phone is my old account, BUT I will have all syncing for it turned off.
I appreciate your help!!
Good to know. Copyright reasons... Ugh

Corrected when I called Google they said that there's no way to do this because of some copywriting issue. That doesn't make sense at all since they have verified I am the same owner of both gmail accounts. So I just put my old gmail back on the phone and turned off everything from syncing so that I can just use it for the Play Store.

I had a similar issue, and I'm not sure exactly how it got fixed. Here's what I did.
1. Factory reset
2. Setup phone with new gmail
3. Add old account
4. Go to my apps in the play store and select the old gmail.
5. Download all apps
6. Remove old account from phone.
I followed these steps on my phone and all apps paid and free work fine with my new gmail.
