Hi everyone,
I'm having a annoying "shutdown" problem on my Blade! The phone simply stays in a "shutdown" mode, when it wants...
I can't do anything with it, the screen is black and the keys doesn't work too, and the only way to turn it on, is by removing the battery :/
However the Blade doesn't shutdown completly, because if i have received a SMS the blinking LED stays on.
I'm not using the original ROM, but a CM7. However the same thing happens with the original one.
I already have send it back to repair, and they perform some tests and didn't found anything
Is there any chance to perform some tests to see whats wrong with it, and what's causing this problem?

HI all,
My hd2 has fallen yesterday, and now i have noticed the keypad lights wont turn off :-(
the device goes to stand by mode fine, screen is off, but the keypad stays on.
any ideas, what could happen? Has anyone had this problem??
Thanks
I now have the same problem. Did you manage to fix it? If yes can you please let me know how did you fix it. Mine is giving the same problem and I didn't even drop it
Hard Reset
@Don001: Tried Hard Reset including flashing back stock ROM and trying every available update of Energy ROM. Didn't work . Is there any app like KeyLedControl that does the opposite....instead of keeping the lights on....switches it off instead? Mine is always on....and never switches off.
Tried to google it and someone suggested that the phone needs a bit of cleaning but...I saw the videos to disassemble....man that's hard
Any other suggestions?
I have the same problem, and mine didn't even fall.
And also hard reset it to stock rom.
i have the problem that my keypad flashes constantly since i installed a custom rom
it goes in this sequence.
* *** * *** etc.
hmmm....
if there is nobody who can answere our prpblem, maybe we should send it to rep?
One of the phone repairers suggested Chemical Cleaning. Not sure if it is going to fix it though...Going to give it a try. Will see how it goes
My HD2 has started to do this since yesterday too.
The keypads stay on but do very slighly dim but still on all nite, killing my battery!!
any suggestions?
This may or may not help
Look at the bottom of post # 4 there is a link to switch the lights oof, it may be rom specific but its worth a try

peopple sory for my english, its so bad!! im from argentina!
i hope you can understend me anda try to help me
first of, sounds like your backup battery is dead, you tried charging overnight? That should hopefully charge it. Secondly, what else have you trid from the rom section? Have you flashed a custom rom?
If not, and overnight ac charge doesn't help the backup battery, do you still have warranth, as it could be worth returning to htc?
Stu
I think there's something wrong with your phone, with the phone's memory because it keeps forgetting things, try to make contact with your provider or HTC
Caution
Your problem can only be guessed from the info you have given
If it does something similar to a Hard-Reset every time you power on/off
then it can be a problem with the flash memory, or you can have a corrupted ROM
If its completely bricked (no backlight) and you head to the HTC Service center, and they find that you have custom ROM modifications they will most probably deny you warranty and/or service
Good luck
I personal think it has been overheated, buy/get/try a new battery and it will work again. turn it off and get a cooler or something like that and cool the phone and let it for 1 day on your table or somewhere and hard-reset the next day.
Recieved my HD yesterday, and this is the symptom of the issue:
When the phone reaches its screen timeout (whether its 30 secs or 10 mins) period it the phone turns off completely. It is not possible to then turn the phone back on using the power switch or any other way. The only way the phone can be turned back on is to take the battery out and put it back in.
Initially i thought maybe it was the battery and somehow it didnt have proper connection with the copper contacts. However if i turn off the screen timeout off completely then the phone stays on and doesnt turn off. So as long as the phone doesnt go into power save mode or screen timeout its fine and stays on. Its also not the power switch as the switch works fine other wise.
I rang HTC support, spoke to some clueless call centre lady who tried to tell me it might be a proximity issue. I dont think it is as i dont have any issues when making or receiving calls. The problem is for some reason screen timeout causing the phone to completely shut down. I have searched on a few forums and cant seem to find anyone else with this issue.........FML
Forgot to add, i have also done the following:
- Reset to factory default
- Checked for udpates (get a message saying my phone is up to date)
- Made sure phone sim cover and battery cover are properly secured
Nothing has worked so far

So the switch turns the phone off and on again, or just off?
switch turns phone on and off any other time but after screen lockout kicks in it doesnt do anything, i have to take the battery out to turn the phone back on.
In a normal scenario if i want to power the phone down and then power it back up again then it is fine
Hope that makes sense
It really sounds like a software issue.
Is your DHD branded or unlocked?
Maybe try install some of the custom roms from arround the forum.I use LeeDroid 1.2 and it works like a charm.
Go to "ROM Development" thread. There are a few HOW-TOs on the top. There is always a risk u mess things up but it's small and from how it sounds, u don't have much of a choice anyway good luck
Its a branded "Orange" phone from the UK. I think im just going to return it and get a replacement and if i still have issues then ill try your suggestion thanks. Really disappointing, Desire HD seems to be riddled with issues.
Running the rom in my sig. Downloaded and installed Wikitude world browser from the marketplace, and now I've got the black screen of death. It won't go away even after a reboot. What can I do? I haven't backed up my android in a LONG time and I'm not prepared to lose everything!! Any way I could recover it?
could try using 'android commander' to uninstall the app via the pc?
Hello,
I have a similar problem.
In my case, its truly "permanent".
I haven't installed nothing special, nor did I do anything special that could've triggered this screen of death. I just had the app LiveRadio on for less than 1 hour.
I turned off the screen with the end button, and when I pushed it again, the back lights went on, but no image at all, just black!
I googled this poblem, and tried some solutions, like turning off/on the device, taking out the battery and so on, nothing worked!
The most bizarre thing though, is that the screen is permanently black! It's always black, be it in bootloader mode, spl, mgldr, or something else, no image is displayed.
I even tried to hardreset my android soft (I managed to do it somehow), but this didn't chase away the black screen.
The screen responds though. I managed to use androidscreencast to control the device via my PC, everything works normally, touching the screen triggers the desired commands, it's just pitch black...
Do you think my screen is broken in some way? Or maybe there is a problem inside the phone, a linking issue.
Does anyone have an idea? Thank you in advance.
what you could do, as you are using your pc for doing tasks on your phone, is perform taks 29.. then flash the windows mobile rom (trough sd and rename .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh) this way your HSPL is deleted aswel.. and then what i would do, is send it back to repair.. because i think your screen has a problem.
I don't know if you are able to do all those steps as if you have to pull down the volum (or pull up?) to proceed the windows installation when going first into the 3colored screen.

Hello everyone. I just bought the OnePlus 8 Pro, set it up, used it a little and then opened the camera, and changed to selfie mode. Suddenly the screen turned green and turned off. Since then I cannot boot my phone and i see green flashes on my screen and nothing works. I can still hear the phone works (Lock screen noises and vibrations) but still can't see anything apart from green flashes every 5 seconds. I've tried to hard reset the phone a few times, but no luck, screen still flashes green.
Please tell me if there is something i can do to fix the issue, or the screen just died.
Why would you want to try and fix the issue? It sounds like a hardware failure and you should return your device. Sure it's a ****ty situation but these things happen.

The only way to solve this is to RMA sadly. Definitely a hardware issue and needs to be replaced (if within the appropriate time) or repaired.
RMA. 100%
