Hello Friends,
I am new user of XDE Development forum. If anything wrong then really sorry.
Anyway, I have an android device Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360. I need to install custom Rom. I have tried many times but failed. Here i am telling about the the thinks i have done already but didn't stressful.
I have downloaded
1.din3 v1.85.
2. Galaxy Y Rom from Sammobile.
That files only include one file called: S5360DDLA1_S5360ODDLA1_S5360DDLA1_HOME.tar.md5
3. I didn't find any
"pit" binary file
"DefaultCalDataWithBoot_...." md5 file
"PDA_...." md5 file
"MODEM_...." md5 file
"GT-S5360-MULTI-CSC-...." md5 file
But in a tutorial of Galaxy y flashing they said these files needed to Update Rom.
4. When i pressed at starting time Volume Down+ Home+ Power then show this message
Warning!!

Follow the steps - with odin installation
1. connect your mobile with pc
2. open odin
3. swithch off your mobile
4. go to download mode (Press Down volumu key + power + home buttons)
5. in odin, it showing com port in yellow color when your device detect.
Then browse files
PIT ---------- -totoro_0623.pit
Bootloader ---- BOOT_S5360DDLA1_REV05.tar.md5
PDA ---------- PDA_S5360DDLA1_REV05.tar.md5
Phone -------- MODEM_S5360DDLA1_REV05.tar.md5
CSC ---------- GT-S5360-MULTI-CSC-ODDLA1.tar.md5
then press start button.
I am not resposible for any damage or any other things to your devise, lot of people and me also try this method, there is no proble to me.

1. About the Android Version for that link's ROM.
2. Is that Version able Bengali Language Support?
3. If electricity is gone during flashing time then any problem for Phone?
4. How many times need to finish the Flashing?

Volume Down + Power + Home ---- for Download Mode.
Volume UP + Power + Home ---- for Recovery Mode.
If you want root your mobile, you can go to recovery mode (Volume UP + Power + Home)
then select "update.zip" file from sd card, after then restart your mobile.
If you need updated.zip file, download form this link

Unable to recognise my usb port
Hi Friend,
Am also facing the same situation am also try to flash my samsung galaxy y i have downloaded all the files from the below given link, but when am try to connect my phone to pc its not recognising my phone i have updated my usb drivers in pc and i have tried the same process by connecting my phone to other pc/laptop too but its not recognosing.
Please let me know what can i do???

Hi Friend,
I have installed the drivers from the mediafire link. After that when am trying to connect my device its ot detecting saying "unknown device" in device manager.

first i go to downloading mode and connect my phone to my pc,
but the Odin3 Galaxy y Flasher show the blue color (we r tell its show yellow color)

The picture says your device model is gt-n700 which is the galaxy notes model number of you place your galaxy y out should say gt-s5360 so then your problem is something else because your phone shows up as being a phone it's not but anyways
is your phone in download mode?

press volume down key +menu+power then press volume up key then you will see this attachment
then connect your usb then use odin (note: samsung usb drivers are needed)

That's not your problem jellyblast is still gingerbread (2.3.6) Jellyblast just says you're on jellybean (4.1.1) anyways I have no idea what your doing wrong so I'm just gonna go through it step by step
Install Samsung USB drivers
Install Odin
Download stock rom
Unzip it
Connect phone to pc
Kill all active adb sessions and stop antivirus
Go into Odin place all the files in there required slots
Turn off phone
Boot into download mode by pressing volume down+power+home
You'll set a screen now press volume up
Hit start on Odin

To flash Stock Rom via Oin
Goto Settings ,
Application ,
Development & enable
USB Debugging.

Antivirus & Kies and
end all active ADB
sessions.
1. Install the
necessary files and
firmware package.
2. Unzip the firmware
package. You’ll get
three tar files (or
tar.md5 files).
3. Charge your Galaxy
Y atleast 75%.
4. Boot your phone in
Download Mode
pressing Vol Down +
Power Key + Home
Button together.
5. When warning
screen appears,
press Volume Up key
to get in Odin mode.
If you are running
Windows Vista /
Windows 7 / Windows
8 then open Odin in
administrator mode.
6. Select PDA_xxxx.tar
in PDA,
PHONE_xxxxx.tar in
Phone & CSC_xxxxx.tar
in CSC.
7. Leave all other
things as it is.
8. Connect your phone
to PC.
You should see a
yellow light on top
left corner box:

Flashing will start
immediately, wait 1-3

don’t get green PASS!

are you able to access download mode??? If yes then get a odin package for your device and flash it.

battery is more than 80 n% now when i am trying to charge also only samsung screen shows up
it's bootlop, you just flash stock rom via odin....
see the sticky post in development to do that !

No need to cry,. Even i have faced that..
First find out a stock Rom using odin mode then
Switch off your mobile
Then press Menu+Vol Down+Power button.. Now odin mode ll start
Now connect ur mobile to pc thru usb cable
Now open odin Sw, the system ll automatially detects ur device(follow the software installation process)
Then use the downloaded stock Rom to flash ur mobile.
It may take only 5 to 10 minutes for installation..hope it ll works for u.

- download the required firmware bundle ( download ur needed firmware bundle in this link [Stock][ROM][Odin] Galaxy Y S5360 flashable firmware packages )
- install Kies, or Samsung driver pack
- unzip the package, You'll get 3 *.tar (or tar.md5) files
- download Odin3 1.84 or 1.85 (click here)
- stop Kies
- stop all active ADB sessions
- start odin
- do backup of your data and apps
- charge your SGY at least 75%
- remove SGY from USB or charger
- start the device in Download mode
*HERES HOW TO GO TO DOWNLOAD MODE*
-power off Your SGY
- wait 30 sec
- Press Vol Down, Home, and Power at the same time
- When (about 5 sec) Warning screen appears, release Volume Down and Power, then (a bit later) Home
- press Vol Up (You'll get Odin mode screen)

- Browse the 3 tar files to odin PDA=PDA_xxxx.tar, PHONE=MODEM_ or PHONE_xxxxx.tar, CSC=CSC_xxxxx.tar

- leave all other fields and checkboxes default!
- connect your phone, You must see yellow 0:[COMxx] in the first ID:COM and "Added" in the message box
- Start flashing by the START button.
- flashing will start immediately, see the progress in the message box, and progress bar on the phone

i tried odin mode but when my device is connected it says device cannot start error message
one of the devices connected is malfunctioned is the error message i am constantly getting
never mind i successfully installed stock firmware thankyou all for your help

please tell me how could you solve this problem and flash stock rom without using odin? i'm unable to access recovery mode and my device is not readable on pc even with drivers installed
If your device is not recognised try to install drivers again if its still their it might be hard brick
So you need jig cable or go to service center in india they will charge 170 rupee
i am so perfect at sleeping i can do it with my eyes closed

I too faced the same.problem ...
where I was not able to go to recovery....
and my phone was also not detected in pc...It was fixed with these silly steps...
I did this:
Frst I uninstalled the Samsung drivers...
restarted the pc...
Installed the drifers...
then I used another USB cable and connected to the USB slot behind one of my pc...
then went to download mode and the phone was detected and also successfully flashed stock Rom.....

Hey. i apologize in advance if there is a thread already about this i searched and searched but i'm getting really desperate! i'm running a MKF baseband i tried flashing phillz recovery even cwm but i didn't manage to do it. i even lost stock recovery . is there any chance of fixing this ? or leave it be ? thanks in advance ! hope you can put some light over me !
This guide is for install TWRP (custom recovery):
1- Put ur phone in DOWNLOAD MODE (Vol Down + Home button)
2- Volume up then
3- Download this file in ur PC-> HERE
4- Open Odin 3.09.3 -> HERE
5- Click AP button
6- Select the file u downloaded in the step 3
7- Plugin ur phone to PC
8- Click in Start
9- When the process finish ur phone will reboot
10- Shutdown ur phone again
11- Turn on ur phone (Vol Up + Power button)
12- It will go in Custom Recovery (TWRP)
13- Press THANKS if I helped :highfive:
~ EDIT: Stock recovery will usually be re-installed after any kind of stock firmware flash

did all of the above. still no recovery. no idea what so ever ! when i press vol up - home button .. i have 3 rows above samsung s4 logo about recovery enforcing or something like that ! totally lost ! it's like the 5th time i'm trying to install a custom recovery !

Relax. Step by Step
1. Shutdown ur phone completely
2. Press Volume Up + Home Button + Power button
3. When u see the letters of SAMSUNG GALAXY 4 GT-i9505 drop the Power button (but still holding Volume up Button + Home Button)
4. If u installed correctly TWRP u will see a blue window with a title of TEAWIN

U arent doing the process correctly. Pls remove ur battery, put it in again and try again the latest process i wrote u :highfive:

i did this. to be shure : the colored lines - recovery boooting.. recovery is not seandroid enforcingg set warranty bit: recovery. is this okay ? no recovery boot still

This mean u have some custom recovery installed, that no is the STOCK One
EDIT: When i tell press the button Volume up + Home button + Power button, u have to hold them all together at same time

yes i am aware of how to press the buttons ! as i told you is the 5th time i try to install a custom recovery. tried philz,cwm then what you gave me .
guess reinstalling stock vid odin is the only option now ?

I can find one for ya if u tell me country, if ur phone is branded to one company, android 4.3 (i supose)?
My samsung galaxy s4 (GT-I9500) does not go past the samsong logo with the i9500 and the samsong name.
I put a new simcard in my phone, and after my phone started it asked me to update the phone to a new release. I obviusly clicked OK.
my phone started updating, just like it normally updates, but this time the screen goes black in the middle of the update. I turn on my phone, and it starts installing, then suddenly it turns off again.
when i turn it on it loads the first boot logo, then i get a black screen like the phone was never on.
i tried everything:
battery of and on
wipe data/factory reset (from - volume up, home button, and power button)
wipe cache partition
and apply update from cache has an empty recovery folder.
i tried to boot in safe mode.
and nothing worked
I want to reinstall jellybean(or any os that works) on the phone, but since i can go to settings and allow usb debbuging, my computer does not recognize it even when it is on doenloading mode (volume down, home, and power button) from my ubuntu turmenal.
I am willing to root my phone or anything to get it working without paying money.
How do i fix this? please help!

Download an official stock rom flash with Odin , should be fine , no warranty problem
Plan B

Get root method of your choice
Get the recovery of your choice
Follow procedures for above
Pull the externalSD card if you have it , if not buy one , copy into it ( pc or another phone) the custom rom of choice and flash......

You can't just use downloade mode in Ubuntu. You need to download Heimdall to use download mode. You can use this guide for flashin the stock rom.

for plan A, i am confused, should i put that in my sdcard, and open the recovery menu?
and for plan B, inorder for me to root my device i need to enable usb debugging, i cant do that, but will putting the phone in download mode and not enabelling usb debugging work?

Plan A
If for flashing stock rom , stock rom can only be flash by Odin
You need to be in download mode ( Turn off the Galaxy S4 and boot it into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together. Once you see the Galaxy S4 Logo, release the Power button and continue holding the other two buttons. Click Volume Up to continue into Download Mode), have USB drivers installed in your PC , have the stock rom of choice in your PC ( what version you had before the problem?) and Odin program

Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes

No need for debbuging , you have to root ( using Odin) and you have to install a custom recovery ( using Odin) ...then after that you copy in your SDcard ( take SD card out , use your pc or other phone) the custom rom of choice , insert SD card again in your phone , enter recovery , go to the menu , choose install zip from SD card select custom rom and flash.
Either plan A or Plan B you do not have to enter in OS of the phone ( you cant anyway)
Read well all the threads before you do anything , you must be 100% clear , ask all the questions you need BUT read first until you have an idea of what you want to do

Just a sidenote:
You don't need to root if you want to use a custom recovery. You can just flash the recovery and flash the rom you want.
