How do you tell the hardware revision of your N7? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do you tell the hardware revision of your N7? C60,70,90 etc?
Thanks

It's on the physical serial number sticker or box, the OS has no indication of this.
Also, there are many threads to this already. As a Senior Member, the use of search should be a given. But hey, I love digging through tons of duplicate threads that hide the useful nuggets of info out there. Gives me and others something to do

There is a sticker on the bottom of the back cover that have the serial number, if you removed it, there is another one behind the back cover, you have to take it off to see it though.
Beamed from my Grouper.

On the box it says what hardware revision it is.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will check when I get home from work.

Help. How to remove querty keypads from housing

Hi fellow members of xda-developers. i plan to paint my housing because it has too many scratches. i already painted the front part but the middle where the query keyboard is not yet finish. i already disassembled the sliding part from 2 pieces. i was trying to figure it out from how to remove the qwerty keyboard out of itshosing so i can paint the whole middle part with worrying to paint the qwerty keyboard. by the way, i was talking about o2 xda IIs. It does have any screws at the back so i'm very confused. hope someone already done this. pls help. tiA!
the official service manual for blueangels covers disassembling the entire device, so i suppose, removing the hard keyboard is in there too, so here's the link:

Glad to see that your issue got resolved. From now on, please post your questions in the Questions and Answers thread rather than opening a new thread to ask questions. Also, make sure that you search the forum and the wiki as well. Most answers are readily available. Thanks.

ver 2 and ver 3 screens

ok i have looked and looked but there was a thread that showed how to tell the 2 apart but it is locked or gone now
how to tell the two apart and i dont mean just by the hdwr ver.
i have
hdwr 3 ( the latest )
grey/charcoal pearlized back ( from the 002 it seems )
a battery that shows no gold stripes ( from the latest it seems )
a samsung sd card ( from the latest )
and the screen??
i do get the power control widget to control and my screen seems to change instantly ( meaning poss epson ) unlike the fade control
but i have part it seems from both 002 and 003 so id like to see somewhere in the phone what the screen has
oh and the build from the batter cover is 4/21 so im stumpped here
so can anyone tell me how to tell what lcd i have and how to get the 30fps fix??
mt
this should be in Q&A

No offense, but there are threads all over this forum that covers everything you asked and talked about. Do a search and you'll find it.

like i posted i found it
i searched this forum all over and i kept finding a related post but the link would direct to a blank page with the post not found, thanks but i found the complete instructions on how to use android sdk to firn the evo txt to determine the correct screen on ANOTHER forum,
so the thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=708811&page=3
contains this link for so called help to ascertain the way but it is broken so offers no help at all
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6919950&postcount=562
so before you slam me and ask me to search, I did i did that in fact and found notta here on that, so about 45min later on google i did.
if a forum is a guide and a place for help why are there so many that dont and resort to making someone have to run looking for the elusive answer
this is what i found when i search for
how to find out epson screen or novatel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=39275143
this is what i found when i search
how to determine screen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=39275199
i could go on, it may be here but my point is it didnt find it instead i got was smart A$$ answers telling me to look which is exactly what i did in the first place
now if anyone wants to know the directions to determine wht real screen the have not based on hdwr versions here it is i dont mind sharing or even re-posting. i know sometimes searches can be often down to the correct words and not everyone will land on them all the time, i sure didnt. besides im here to help rather than bash

i just hope this helps
Another option is to download terminal emulator from the market. Type dmseg and hit enter. Then select menu and email the results to yourself. Then scroll towards the bottom half and if you see Epson that's what you got.

We still haven't established whether Epsen or Novatek is the better screen.
I'm having a hard time deciding wether to return my EVO and try and get the Epson screen. The screen is way brighter and more visible in sunlight with the Novatel but the color accuracy is better on the Epson. The Epson also has a screen tearing issues when you remove the 30fps cap whereas the Novatel does not. I am usually a stickler for good color accuracy but in this case i'm not sure I will be happier with the Epson screen. Still have a few more days to decide...but can't seem to make up my mind.

[Q] Change Device ID

Some applications require a known device id or serial number to function properly. ADB recognizes our device ID as attached device 0000000000. Is there a way to change this number and if so how? thanks in advance
this has been asked already, no need for identical threads, use search.
Also, there is no way as of yet to change it, but try shubCRAFT, and if that has a different device ID then there must be a way to change it in theory.

ok I will try shubCRAFT thanks I guess...side note I am not a fan at all of creating threads before thoroughly researching so point me to an identical thread since u clearly have seniority over me...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756610
but lets keep the discussion in this thread
the title looks somewhat nicer
lol I admit my own fault on creating this thread then. Slap on wrist...Anyway for those of you using shubCRAFT build, do you get a device ID other than 0000000000 when connecting to ADB?

Unknown Android Radio RockChip RK2928-G CarAvn_C2 2017-02-28 Firmware

I have a unknown assumed Android head unit that I am in need of firmware, and instructions to install it. I took as many pictures as I could, and tried to research old invoices, email, and eBay purchase history to no avail on a model number. There are no markings on the case, the only markings on inside, and have been pictured. I combed Google using text, and images, still nothing. It looks like a tablet PCB soldered to a generic stereo. I am looking to change the firmware in this unit as its current firmware is virtually useless. Any help is appreciated. I am also not opposed to just installing anything that will work then using apps to control the radio hardware, if that is possible.
Well I can't seem to post images, maybe I am just a typical noob. My bad in advance.
If it´s really a RK2928, you should spare your time.
For pictures: You need to have some postings to be allowed to share pictures.
Just upload them to Google, Dropbox or similar and post the link to your pics.

Thank you for the advice. It was purchased by my in-laws back in '17. I was just looking for a project piece. Ill attempt to add the dropbox link here: /sh/ffmd8gvniw0ar3d/AACgeG2zlYeEcI-XpeuSm2UAa?dl=0[/url]
I´ll post the corrected link to your unit, because the forum SW just cuts it off automatically.... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ffmd8gvniw0ar3d/AACgeG2zlYeEcI-XpeuSm2UAa?dl=0&preview=IMG_0310.jpeg
This is a Win CE unit, from what I can see on the first pic. See the first icon which is the Windows symbol.
Nevertheless.... Nothing to update for this oldie.... at least not at XDA.
Let it RIP or use it as FM radio elsewhere.
