Hi all,
Thanks for this very useful corner where Blackstone tips and tricks were exposed. However, I did search but could not find on how to identify Blackstone's Hardware ID number? The format is something like this: 0000-0000
Thanks again

Hi,
I once saw a null sip.. i.e. a SIP that does nothing if selected. Basically for use with remote software and desktop keyboard. If anyone saw something like that, could a link be given for it?
Thanks.

Thanks a lot cookie.. exactly what I was looking for!!
no prob mate. Glad I could help.
Does anyone know the exact name and location of the WM6 device lock file, ie the one where you can either use a simple pin or a complex password to enter your device? I definitely do not mean keylock.exe, as this is the wrong file.
I have searched this entire site using both google search and the normal search and drawn a blank. Also drawn a blank on the wider internet search although I admit my search criteria may be the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.

if you can't find an existing app to run that will lock your device, perhaps it would be easier to write your own?
at first glance, it would appear that a call to SHDeviceLockAndPrompt would do what you need
dalelane,
Thanks for this pointer. Interesting thought on writing a bespoke app; however I'm keen to use what's already there.
Problem is I need to ensure that one cannot circumvent the existing lock process when its engaged. At the moment I can do this, which worries me.
Appreciate the input.

Hi
Have you found a Solution?
LG
Daniel
DanielS,
I went down the route where I made sure I wasn't running any apps that could circumvent the lock and that's about it, really.
I never actually got a direct answer to the original question I posed.
Cheers

Hi
i got a huawei ideos x3 and i would like to know who is the manufacturer of the display and the touch screen...
My first try was to completely disassemble the phone and have a look...
but as i should have expected, there are no usable information on the parts.
or i was just unable to find something about it.
printing on the lcd says: W-TM032PDZ04-B-4A-110328.S1.ROHS
the touchscreen is printed on the glass: TCP32A84-V1BM-C7-MP
on the flexlayer: Synaptics 940-990-2R2 TM1714
i cant find any information on the net...
but isnt there a lcd_id tag in a config file which can be read?
because my device is in peaces i thought it would be a good idea to ask in a developer forum
if i am in the wrong subthread please feel free to move me
hope you can help me
thx

The numbers that you given are most likely, the tested sub-assembly numbers. Huawei may use contract sub-assemblers to build up from the more basic component level. Component manufactures may place their part numbers on the 'working' side of the component, as seen by the assembler during the assembly operation. At the final product level none of these numbers may be seen.
Component mfg'ers are fond of placing their logos in an area that can be seen at the final assembly level. These may be of Chinese origin.
For what it's worth:
W-TM032PDZ04-B-4A-110328.S1.ROHS (upper level assembly number)
TCP32A84-V1BM-C7-MP (TCP = Tape Carrier Package plus assembly number)
Technology hint (www dot koe dot j-display dot com/upload/file/AN-006_LCD_Module_Construction_Methods.pdf)
Synaptics 940-990-2R2 TM1714
Synaptic hint, Series 1 (www dot synaptics dot com/solutions/products/clearpad)
Happy hunting.

This would be good info.
Peace to all. Always. Thank you XDA
How do you tell the hardware revision of your N7? C60,70,90 etc?
Thanks
It's on the physical serial number sticker or box, the OS has no indication of this.
Also, there are many threads to this already. As a Senior Member, the use of search should be a given. But hey, I love digging through tons of duplicate threads that hide the useful nuggets of info out there. Gives me and others something to do
There is a sticker on the bottom of the back cover that have the serial number, if you removed it, there is another one behind the back cover, you have to take it off to see it though.
Beamed from my Grouper.
On the box it says what hardware revision it is.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I will check when I get home from work.
