[Q] Poor battery life on CNA 3.6.5 mb526 - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!.
I'm using this great Rom ported by kayant and pottkopp.
The Rom runs smoothly but my battery life is really short (max 20 hours) compared with the latest builds from quarx (approx 32 hours).
Any suggestions will be welcomed.
Thanks to all the people which work for an defy more happy.

LOL I'd be more than happy to get 20 hours life out of ANY ROM on my Defy (MB525, green).
Most I ever get is around 16 hours with little use. Sometimes less than 8 hours.
I tried CNA but the Messaging app kept FC-ing on me.

Thanks anyway ossie. Perhaps trying with differents vsels.
I keep trying

Think i solved my problem.
The steps i followed were:
Full charge, wipe battery stats, flash a fix for 1650ma battery.
Passed the barrier of 20 hours.
But I'd be happier if I get more than two days of battery life as in the previous cm10 that i used.

the post from above link does not mention miui series.
in my opinion, wiui 2.5.27(the stable one) does a good job also.
Im on ics from quark and when not doing mutch with my phone it takes like 10 percent a day with stock cpu clock, wifi off.

Questions go in the Q&A section
You should consider using either Walter's MS2Ginger rom or use Defy+ CM7 with walter's kernel. I see that if left alone the phone drains at approx 3% every 8 hours... so standby time increases. I get 2-3 days with moderate use. Of course if you're a heavy user (wifi, 3G, games etc) then it won't matter much.

Problem with battery on Quarx CM10 2ndboot

Hi all,
I have defy with the latest Quarx CM10 2ndboot CM10-20121205-NIGHTLY.
When I installed for the first time CM10 2ndboot about a month ago the battery was INCREDIBLE! It lasted for about 2 days..
I have updated to the latest version and I really have problems, the battery is discharging so quickly.
Battery stats state:
Screen 50% (so unusual it wasn't like this before)
Mediaserver 16%
Jango 13%
Cell standby 13%
Phone idle 5%
Android 3%...
I must add that I have been using the phone as usual, over the past months..
Is there any help?
Thank you very much!
I don't know how you managed 2 days. I don't remember a CM10 build where the battery lasted me through a single day even with vsel1 underclocked. Regardless, the latest build is not considered good and people are sticking to 17.11 or 18.11 at the moment. If you want battery life however, ditch CM10 and flash Maniac's latest CM7 nightly.
Thanks!
Is there any other alternative to downgrading?
Cheers

[Q] Battery drain problem

Hi,
I have motorola defy red lens and lately I have a problem with battery drain on all roms.
I am using Quarx's JB 4.1.2, and battery drain appears only when my data is on (100 to 0 in around 8 hours if I dont use the phone at all), if my data is off, it can last for days...
I am using BM tweaks, seeder and memfree. I think thats when it began. I also tried Flashing SBF and have the same thing on stock, but on MS2Ginger my battery lasts throughout the day (100 to 50 in 16h with data always on) if I don't use my phone but if I just send one sms or check email for 5 minutes, it spends around 5% of the battery.
I am now back to Quarx's CM10 (from Nov. 28th, Later ones apeared to have batt drain for me even before this problem) same thing without and with BM stuff, I even reduced overclock from 1200 to 1000, and all of my vsel values now i am using 300-16, 600-30, 800-42, 1000-52, and before it was 300-30, 600-42, 900-50, 1200-64 (or something like that....)
Original battery monitor says it is the display spending 50% of the battery, and my brightness is on auto, I even reduced default values for brightness cause I don't like my screen bright.
is my battery bad or what? (all battery apps say the battery is healthy)
P.S. I use quarx's kernel.
What is android system and android os. They aren't drains battery.

I don't understand?

Have you checked that android os/system drains so much juice?
green lense mb525
cm10 nightly (fixed kernel)
I have the same issue, I'm starting to think that my battery might be dying, it's been a year since I bought my phone, so I think its a logical thing to think that it's slowly fading away
I got a new battery, and it's all good now
Btw I got one for the defy plus, and it rocks, whole day, lots of usage, overclock to 1200 again, and still 60% left!!!

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Redmi Note 9 Pro before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Hy guys! I have never had such an amazing phone with a such a great battery! My last phone was a Mi Max 3 and was very hard for me to let it go because of the humongous battery of 5500mAh. I am using this Redmi Note 9S for two days and still have juice in it. Remember that it was charged just once and all the installation, backup, and the new start was made during this cycle. 80% i was only in Wifi but in my area the gsm signal is not that great and i choose the 2G network. The drain over night is maximum 1% with 2G and wifi off. Good luck guys!
Great results for me also. I'm getting at least 10 hours SOT per charge and I use a TON of social media like Snapchat/Instagram, etc.
Hi all, this battery is amazing for me I played around 3 hr or more, then FB like 2 hr, IG about 30 min. Sent whatsapp messages and messenger too. Calling about 2 hours with speakerphone. Searched for a case in amazon and other things like 1 hr or more and some browser time too.
By 4 am had like 13 hrs SOT, this time before put it to charge gonna take a screenshot and post it.
Cheers.
Hi, heres my SOT and have 14% left

Dear Senior Member, sorry for calling me stupid but i use Xiaomi phones for several years and i flashed hundreds of custom roms. Is it possible not to know how much my phone uses the battery? Do you really want to change my phone's system language just to clear this situation? Is so hard for you to understand from that picture? Let me explain...i charged the phone to 100% and then i used it normally( calls, sms, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc) and that is my score. I didn't charge the phone at all during this cycle. Conprende?

Hard Reset?
What do you think of this percentage taking into account that I have used it in airplane mode, with minimum brightness and saving mode?
is a Hard reset recommended?
Yesterday I got about 7h43m of SoT (100% - 20%) for the whole day. Most of the time I used Facebook/Messenger, web browsing; about 2 hrs of 3D gaming (LLAS, Mirishita) at maximum graphic settings. I turned 4G on all the time, 60 - 100% of brightness.
This morning (4:30 AM to 11:10 AM) I got about 57m of SoT (100% - 91%).
Is my battery life normal? Should I return the phone and exchange for another one?
I'm on MIUI Global 11.0.8 stable.

I have not unlock my BL yet. Flashing via Miflash doesn't work at all. So what should I do to flash the update package manually? I'm used to using TWRP and AOSP before on my Redmi 5+ so I'm not much familiar with MIUI stuffs.
And today after using wifi for the whole day (social media, gaming, etc.), I got about 11h37m of SoT with 14% left. Is this normal?
My phone is a secondhand one so I do really care about its battery.

Hi I had same problem with miui 11 and 12 (right after update) and could fix it easily!
First you should go to setting>apps>manage apps then search Xiaomi Service
We have two xiaomi service, force stop them and clear their cashe (if it possible)
After that do the same thing to Android System.
Then go to setting>privacy protection>special permissions>battery optimization wait for it and then put all unnecessary apps specially Xiaomi Service Frameworks, weather, themes, system services, battery and almost everything to Optimize mode.
After all turn Miui Optimization (on developer options) and System Printing Service off.
Do them together for every rom and after every update, it'll work.
For me it brings my Android System Usage from 28% (after update to miui12) to almost 17% per day (7 hours SOT and 16 hours Standby). Have nice day.
