I'd like to know how I can backup and restore all my photos and movies on my device when I flash a new ROM?
I understand Titanium pro will let me restore all my apps in one go but what about my photos and files?

flashing ROMs and wiping data doesn't touch your storage. everything will stay in its place. there is no reason to wipe your storage to flash a ROM. the only time that the storage gets wiped is when you unlock your bootloader.
To my my photos and are very important. I sync them with my google + also sync google plus with my pc and my phone. so there are 3 copies of them.. Now with that said unless you mess up your internal storage your files will always be there as said above.. But like a pc . ALWAYS backup stuff off the device.
once you have google account and google + setup.
go into settings accounts and sync.. and sync photos Instant upload .
also you could use Ti media sync . there are also others on the net such of some for picassa .
Also a new option... I use just host to host a website. Pm me your email and i can send you a invite to just cloud service they have a great picture sync app.
many options ...

I wonder how do you guys back up your contacts. Coz I don't feel like back it up all to gmail account. Any alternative easy way?
I always backup contacts by exporting them to SD card. Its an in build feature of every android rom.
I mostly use My Phone Explorer: syncs with windows contacts (but no autosync over network)
Use any of the backup apps. You can backup to sdcard or online..
I used GO backup when going to CM9 and it worked like a charm. Much better than free Titanium backup by the way.
I use wondershare mobilego app from PC and take backups. it takes backups of all android phones , recentcalls missedcalls lists, messages, contacts all backued up in PC
if youre on cm9, you dont need any extra apps to backup your contacts. just go into people>menu>import/export>export to external storage. this will create a file on your sdcard, which you can later use to restore the same way.
sent from my cm9 defy...
God damn...I didn't notice there's export/import feature... That is good enough for me...Thank you guys.
I don't see why it's necessary to install an app to do this.
How do you guys store backups on your n7 that root and flash your tablets? Since 16gigs is probably not enough.
I keep a fully stock backup on my device, and the rest on a PC.
The stock backup is very small so takes up little room. This way, if i mess up, i can restore that, and then transfer and restore the latest backup i made from the PC.
Are the back ups saved with blobs now on the n7? And how did you get it on your computer?
I use twrp wich doesnt use blobs
And usb wire
Oh duh. I'm stupid. Didn't even think about that lol
if you use cwm you can backup the whole directory to computer.
i use ftp sync and sync this stuff of the night time to my FTP Server. that syncs with our desktop that also supplies storage to all of our devices as well as movie storage for the tvs.
the ftp allows me to backup or restore even if im not home .as well as access every file picture document or piece of software we own..
FTP been around for a very long time and still most reliable..
Ok now im telling how old i am.. remember the bbs systems .. and the pre irc relay chat servers. on a first generation modem ?
No idea how what ftp is but I will look into it! Thanks!
use CMW to backup and save to your computer ...

You can backup your contacts and photos to your google account. Therefore enable the sync for that.
But best way to backup your data is to use TitaniumBackup.
Or using Helium, it supports Google Drive as destination.

You only need to connect using PC for the first time, this is to make it compatible with those who don't have root access on their phones.

Hello
I restored a nand backup that included whatsapp, unfortunately it didn't give me the restore from google Drive option after the sms verification, so all my medias are gone while on the cloud.
I also installed whatsapp twice between yesterday and today so I think whatsapp won't let me again for 24h that's why I wanted to see if I can restore a whatsapp Drive backup without the need of re-installing
You can, but this will install media files but not the conversations. You really need to re-install whatsapp
Nondroid or TitaniumBackup does not restore whatsapp correctly! For some reasons you should verify the account again and it would not be able to use local or cloud backup to restore them.
you should have made a backup in Google Drive before you install WA in New device, also install WA in New device from PlayStore or install from the APK then it will restore the cloud backup correctly,
FYI I've used oneplus switch for my new OP6T and I didn't select WA but it has copied it's data,
Conversations were restored byt not medias, I guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall from playstore.
Media are not backed up, they are stored locally, if you have set the WhatsApp media folder to be stored in Google cloud then you can have them again. It's one of the few apps that don't tolerate restauration. Installation is the only way to have a fully functional app.

And can you restore medias from google Drive without the uninstall reinstall thingy?
Look in Drive app if they are present, if they are there you can access them yes, on the cloud or by downloading them
Is there a way to unlock the bootloader on the LG K20 Plus without wiping the device? Our brother passed away and he saved his final pics to his Google Pictures app. We don't have access to his Google account. We can access the pics on the device, but can't save them to the memory card or transfer to PC. Apparently, the folder Google stores to is protected. I thought of unlocking the bootloader and rooting, but from what I've read, this wipes the device and we will lose the pics.
We're just trying to get the last few pics of him for our own memories. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Yes unlocking bootloader requires a command which will erase all data. And assuming the device is unmodified with original stock ROM and not rooted, it's very likely encrypted so even if you managed to load up twrp via fastboot without running the boot unlock command (which erases all phone data) and create a backup of the phone's /data mount, you'd wouldn't be able to copy and paste on a similar bootloader unlocked phone.
As for Google Photos, you say you have access to the device and the pictures. Which means the account is still logged in on the phone and you can work within the Google Photos app to send or share any picture and album link o another contact, let's say you, which you can then access on your phone or PC and save. It may be arduous and require doing screenshots of each photo in full screen but given your circumstances it may be worth it. I wasn't aware of Google Photos encrypting the storage directory for pictures. If the pics are on the device they should be able to transfer easily if they're internal storage. Otherwise Google Photos likely has backed them so up to the cloud and deleted original copies off the phone. But still if you can access the phone and the Photos app without needing to sign in to Google, then just add all the pics to a new album and share the album link to any trusted contacts who can then go through the pics and save a copy.
Thank you
We've been hesitant to connect the phone to WiFi for fear of auto deletion, since we don't know what his settings are in the app. It's arduous, but screenshots it is. Once we get all of the screenshots saved, we'll connect to WiFi and see if the phone is still logged in. We might get luck and find more pics for our family.
Thank you again. My bro and I were at this for hours trying everything we could think of to transfer the thumbnails to SD as well as the PC for mom.
