[Q] S-on MyTouch 4G needs help! - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! My myTouch 4G was stuck on the welcome screen ("T-Mobile MyTouch" on white background screen), and accessing bootloader and flashing the 2.3.4 version of the ROM that one of your contributors (Football) pointed to in filefactory (PD15IMG_Glacier_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.32.531.1_Radio_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M_release_227522_signed.zip) fixed the problem. However, since the phone was sluggish after it came back to life, I tried to reflash the above ROM into it, and that did not work -- the phone recognizes the PD15IMG.zip file and starts the process, but it freezes on the first step after I say "yes" to updating. I'm thinking that may be b/c it can't "update" to the same version of the ROM. With that in mind, IS THERE A NEWER VERSION OF THE ROM for this phone to which I can try to update? I've been searching all over this site, but could not find one. The only thing working on the phone right now is the bootloader, and I still have 5 months left on my contract, with no insurance Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Marco

The only problem with the version would be if it were older. There should be no problem installing the same version as is on your device.

Once i got it back, it had version 2.1 on it, but stupid me did another OTA update on my hero, and now i have the same problem as i did in the beginning except instead of a HERO screen, my hero is stuck on the HTC screen. Does any1 know a fix for this problem? any help would be appereciate. BTW i tried doing the hold home + Back already.
Run official RUU And then flash recovery .
sorry for the noobie question, but how do you do that? where could i get the files?
bumpp! hahaha
If you use search or google, you will find GSM hero ruu updates on shipped-roms, amongst various sites
Click on my Radio signature and you will see that ..
hey i was reading your SIG, but will it work for a non rooted hero?
Just download the Official RUU version of hero .. it don't need root or anything ..
[email protected] Don't flash radios unless you have recovery & custom ROM
hey i tried dling the RUU on the Official HTC website, but i have a higher version then they one they provide

[Q] HTC Magic Stuck At Bootscreen

I have a serious problem here, very very serious :/
Right, I downgraded to 1.5 Cupcake (where the Phone says its a Google Ion) and rooted my HTC Magic. I then wnated a ROM with Sense on it, so I installed a ported version of the HTC Hero ROM onto it. Everything worked perfectly fine except the fact that the phone was slightly slow and I didnt enjoy the browsing speeds. I then decided to reset my phone to the manufacturer defaults by following a HTC Guide over at the developer's section. This stated that I needed to flash a radio image before anything else could be done. I followed the instructions perfectly and everything worked until radio flashed and then the phone re-boots to the boot screen at which it just says MyTouch 3G with a green background. The phone does not pass this, it just stays on this screen and will not restart or anything. If I hold Back+Power/Home+Power/Volume Down+Power absolutely nothing happens, I just get the MyTouch 3G screen again. The Radio was designed for 1.5 Android Cupcake. I followed all instructions as stated, I can confirm nothing went wrong. I cannot access recovery or anything. I have a White HTC Magic branded Vodafone (Unlocked).
ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED! THANKYOU!

Just search for someone with a jtag connection

[Q] Will I get charged for this?!

Hi there,
will rooting my phone cause me to get charged with my mobile carrier? I recently rooted my phone about one week ago, and went from Rom to Rom (First I was on 1.13 software, then I went to 2.03 software) and finally found my Rom, (Froyo Rom 3.15 software). Does rooting my phone change the radio version? I used "TheUnlockr.com" instructions. The Froyo Rom did not change my radio version however that's what they said and I double checked. Because I'm afraid that if I have the wrong radio version connected to my Virgin Mobile Canada company I might get charged. Is that actually possible? Having the wrong radio version connected to your mobile carrier? And getting charged for it? Thanks for the help guys. I'm really nervous about this.
No, you will not get charged for rooting, changing roms or updating your radio.

Rooting, flashing custom roms is not illegal and you will not be charged.
However, do note that with a rooted phone, any rogue apps that ned root can wipe all your private data and your phone may break or be bricked.
If your phone becomes spoilt, you canot send it for repair as it will void your warranty. However, search my posted threads for a guide to unroot all android phones and not void your warranty
Thanks so much for the help and answer guys. I'll take a look at the threads and bookmark them just in case for future use. What a relief. Thanks guys!

No signal and Wi-Fi issues

Hi all,
I am in need of some help I had a Branded DHD on 3, which I unlocked for my DAD who is on Vodafone it was working for a good 3 weeks then either said no sim inserted or lost signal a simple power off and back on seemed to fix it.
However more recently it has given up all together no signal and now wi-fi issues.
The phone was rooted and running ICS The Collective rom , my Dad did not like it so I put on a sense 3.5 rom and as above was running no problem up until now can anyone advise me if indeed it does need a new radio or is there a simple fix?
I have searched long and hard for a solution but nothing if anyone could help it would be great !!:good:
Which radio do you have? Settings-About-Baseband version

Flash A new radio and see if that fixes it
Sent from my Desire HD using Swype beta for Android!
Cheers I will check the baseband and post, were is this new Radio? and also is there an easier way to flash a new radio on an already flashed DHD?
Thanks again
Radio's usually come I zip files. Just flash them like you would a new ROM (just wipe cache and Dalvik, not full wipe)

Hi the baseband I am currently on is 12.65.60.29U_26.14.04.28_M
I have tried to flash a radio with CWM but would say installation aborted? but knowing me I am a bit rusty with the DHD as now on an HTC One X.
If anyone can provide a link for flashable radios via CWM that wold be great the current rom that is installed is GingerSense4 v1.2.
Thanks again in advance:good:
You need to flash the new radio through bootloader, not cwm. You will need to plug it into your computer and follow the guide on how to flash radio somewhere in the forum

There are many guides to flash a radio here is one of them:

Thanks again will let you know how I get on :good:
Out of curiosity I checked once I booted into HBOOT and this is what it says at the top??
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
Hboot-2.00.0027
Microp-0438
RADIO-26.14.04.28_M
eMMC-boot

Does this mean its un rooted again? so I will now need to start again?
It's not un-rooted but S-ON means the security flag is ON. You need to use the AAHK to install an ENG H-Boot with S-OFF, if you want it. It's not really necessary though. The easiest way to flash a radio is through AAHK, if you have no experience of going it before. Read through the AAHK manual fully before doing it. You can't just flash radios in recovery.
It seems you already have the latest radio from the last world wide update for the DHD. I'm going to link you to a newer version, try that and tell me if it fixes your issues. If that doesn't work, I'll link you to an older version which might work. Radios work differently for everyone, depending on the frequencies used in their countries. So it's not a case of 'newer is better' for radios.
New radio (12.68.60.29_26.16.04.09_M) - http://goo.gl/V06BH
Old radio (12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M) - http://goo.gl/jnxBx
Just one thing, BEFORE you flash any of the above radios, just download the corresponding RIL for your 26.14.04.28 radio and flash it in recovery. Run your phone for some time and see if it makes a difference. If you're running a Sense ROM, you need to flash the corresponding RIL for a radio, not so for AOSP ROMs like CyanogenMod/AOKP. Similarly, if you flash any of the above radios, flash their corresponding RILs too (I can't find a link to the RIL for the newer radio, but you can flash one for the older radio). You can get RILs from the link below.

hi thanks very much! I booted into recovery earlier on today and it said ''Safe Mod''
I then flashed IceColdSandwich summer edition v8.2 because my phone would just sit with a black screen... and nothing still just sits on a black screen now flashed 3 roms still nothing.
I can go into recovery and boot loader but thats it and most of these procedures require the phone to be on I cant get to that stage :crying:
I have flashed many phones from HTC Hero, S2, HD2 etc I now own an HTC One X all find but this DHD is the first one I ever sim unlocked via unlockme.com (or something similar cannot remember)
So really at a loss now any suggestions anyone? :fingers-crossed:
Please help me sat down to fix this today .... I've boot this into Fastboot to find my boot into recovery is now missing so I can no way boot phone or into recovery (I think)
Can anyone give me a link etc to fix this? as most guides requires phone to be on??
thanks in advance:good:

What you are trying to ask is that you are unable to boot into recovery? have you lost your recovery? or you are not having an option in bootloader to go into recovery?
Have you done the superCID thing? I don't know how to do it exactly but there are guides. Search for them. I'm guessing that may be your issue.

[Q] flashing stock

Hey HD2 guys. Need some help from a local pro. My girlfriend has an HD2 that is running just terribly. Force closes all the time etc. Upon inspection I see that she's running a version of CM7 from February 2011 (thanks to her brother). Can someone give me a quick runthrough of flashing stock. I am absolutely not a noob and know my way around kernels, ROMs, fastboot and recoveries. I would've just searched and started reading but its not my phone and I'm in a bit of a time crunch. Thanks HD2 community! Oh and the phone is T-Mobile if that's important

Just download a stock RUU from the HTC website for your particular phone (i.e. EU/TMOUS, probably best to download v 3.14 for either), enter the bootloader through volume down + power and flash it via USB. Then, download HSPL4 and flash to a stock SPL such as 3.03 or 2.08.
If you want to flash a better Android version instead, just follow the guide in my sig.
