[HELP]Would This Work? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello,
I was wondering since i updated me u8800-51 to the official 2.3 and it wont let me sync and i think the problem is the update so if i delete all my date and cache and i try to sync it with my computer will i be able to get CWM and download another rom because i cant get CWM with the new 2.3 official update and it wont let me sync to my computer due to the bootloader with the 2.3 update ?i think im still new to this?

What is te sync? Do you mean that the device doesn' t recognized from pc when you connect it? Which rom(version) you've flash? Is the phone rooted? You must first root the phone, to be able to replace recovery with cwm one.

Help: Short and to the point, how to update rooted phone

My phone is rooted, I can not retreive the original image through the backup, applying the zip to sdcard failed, OTA update failed.
1. Where can I get the original stock rom?
2. how to I copy it back to my phone with out ereasing all my info i.e. contacts, sms etc
3. after I re-install the original image, to i get the update OTA or any other way.
4. than do I have to re-root it?
your help will be greatly appriciated.
(sorry I am a newbie to android)
original sprint rom is here
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hero/Official-ROMs/RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.29.651.1_signed_release.exe
If u flash ur fone with it u WILL loose all ur info except for contacts if they synced with ur google account. Basically ur fone will become just like u took it out of the box brand new.
Then u will have to do OTA update
Then reroot again
OR u can just install a custom ROM that already has that update (Fresh Rom)
i backed up all my data with a backup program so that should do it, and my contacts are in outlook
???????????
then u should be fine probably, i never used any backup programs so i dont know if it will work for sure.

Frequently Asked Questions about NEW Froyo

-I can't root my phone after upgrading to 2.2!
use this thread and install the newest .zip extract, and you know the rest. this is done from a PC.
-I can't upgrade my phone to 2.2!
If you have KIES, use KIES MINI, found here scroll down and click download, this is a older version, so the first time you install it, it will take a while to get newest one, and it will install the drivers too.
-Unrecognized device on kies mini!
First, make sure you have ALL the drivers, and just to make sure, uninstall kies, and reinstall it, so it re-downloads the drivers. After it downloads the drivers, unconnect your USB if it is already connected, and reboot your computer, try connecting now, this has fixed most issues so far.
-I'm not getting Froyo through OTA
Tmobile has canceled OTA and made it through Samsung's Kies Mini. there might be a OTA later on, but now there isn't.
-Do i need to unroot first before upgrading?
Most likely, yes, or mini won't recognize your device. Be on the safe side and go to stock using ODIN.
-If none of the solutions on installing froyo work, then wait a few days till the devs make it flashable.
P.S. its not that different from the actual unofficial leaked one btw.
also, if there are more questions, i know i missed a bunch i couldn't think of any, include it to the thread, i'll look for a solution and post it here.
-If none of the solutions on installing froyo work, then wait a few days till the devs make it flashable.
Does this mean the developers plan to release an official ROM that can be flashed to the device using CMR? Would the update simply be copied to the SD card and selected from within the CMR interface?
That would be great.
Many Thanks,

problem with the latest version

Tab has to be complete stock for ota. Sometimes root will go through.
i don't have root...what can i do to make it so full stock?
i have a cwm recovery maybe these is the problem.
how to change it to stock???
If your running plain stock acer android you should be ok.
I read ppl might need this...ICONIA TAB Update Enhancement
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lt#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5GRC51cGRhdGVyIl0.
IF your running a custom rom, then your gonna have to jump through a few hoops to get it to update. (as in revert back to stock and what not..)
ok.
i have i think an custom rom (without root)
and i have the ICONIA TAB Update Enhancement
and..i want to make it stock by everything(recovery-i have cwm,rom)everything...
how to do it?
Alright you have several ways to do this. As I am not sure what you want out of this rom. ROOT? CWM? Recovery? Anyway..you can..
1) Flash an ICS rom then just update your bootloader (Civato's Flexreaper roms are awesome!)
2) You can do whats listed here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622425
Basically you want to read step 4.
i want stock+an option to connect hdd's
and i want stock recovery and stock rom with ota's
is it soppuse to be with root for the hdd's?
So are you on 100% stock acer honeycomb?
How did you get cwm on there?
Were you flashing roms?
How do you not have root but have a custom recovery installed?
Tell me exactly what you have done to your tab up to this point (roms, recoveries, etc)
If all you are trying to do is get the stock recovery back on then just install from market "acer recovery installer" and select the stock one..
edit: nvm you need root for that..
ok!
i did the step 4...
now i have root+4.0.3
and the recovery is cwm..i want it stock also to get ota's and the option for the update's without any problems
these can help you

is these the latest from acer?
and what to do with the hdd's?is it can go with all these?
and also where is the acer ring?is it not comes with the stock?
If that is what you want your going to have to revert all the way back to that very buggy, broken 3.1 rom and just let it update through till you hit ICS.
I didn't know you wanted to keep it completely stock.
As for the hdd's, not sure, I've never actually plugged any in. I know my usb thumb drive works. I know there are apps you can use to mount them when you connect it to your usb port.
-----------------------------------------
Acer ring, as far as I know, it is not on the official release.
ok so how to go to the buggy one from where that i'm now?
you saw the pic's?
Cant help with recovery, but no problem at all with hdd on honecomb stock i am using a couple 320 & 500gb, not yet tried on v4 but assume they work just aswell.
in honycomb you need an root+ntfs mount to connect hdd's
i'm assuming that in ics it's the same
so i want stock recovery+stock rom that will come from acer and will ger ota's from acer and will update from them and i will do root just for the hdd's i think
but first of all is to make it full stock!
NTFS is native to acer since 3.2.1 you don't need to do anything other then plug in you NTFS HDD
ok so how to go to the buggy one from where that i'm now?
You do not need to root on Honecomb to plug in a HDD.
now i'm with stock 4.0.3 and can't mount hdd-ntfs
is it because of the stock or because of the ntfs?

guess not if so...

cant install 4.2

hey guys.
initially when i tried to install 4.1.2 it kept giving errors so i found (on xda i believe) a modded zip that didnt do the google checks and it installed.
however, now that i try to install 4.2, firstly with the official update that it offered automatically and when that failed with a zip, all i get is the android on his back and a red exclamation. i believe that means i dont have the CWM installed anymore that i am sure i needed when i flashed 4.1.2 (i definitely didnt use my PC to do that update)
do i have to install CWM again? can it be done without ADB as i havent used it very much at all and not for a long time.
thanks
anyone?
the reason the question is different to some others and warrants a seperate thread is that the bootloader is already unlocked and the device is rooted yet i dont have CWM to flash the manual way.
whether auto update or manual it brings up the android with red exclamation mark.

HTC 816 single SIM European - how to unroot

Hi guys,
I need your help because I'm a complete newbie in this field. 2 yrs ago I rooted my HTC 816 with CWM and unlocked the bootloader (my current system is 4.4.2, htc sense 6.0, ver. 1.60.401.1, htc sdk api 6.21, cwm-based recovery v6.0.4.7) ). I would like to upgrade my system but cant do it without unrooting the device. Unfortunately I dont know how to, coz the option with fastboot doesnt work. I can only manually get to hboot option. Can you guys plz tell me what to do to get to factory settings and be able to upgrade my software the official way? Thanks in advance for a "for dummies" explanation. Best regards!

If your version is the single sim a5_ul version( verify in your bootloader or in about phone in your settings first) here's a tutorial with links for restoring stock recovery and rom. Obviously your still on your stock rom so just unroot through your SuperSU or Superuser apps settings then flash back your stock recovery over your custom recovery. Relock your bootloader then upgrade your stock rom through OTA . You can't flash a higher rom from this tutorial without your phone having S off. Just unroot then flash back your stock recovery , lock bootloader then do OTA update. Good luck.

ADB doesnt see my device <i downloaded sdk manager, updated, also htc sync manager>; i also tried to do it directly from FASTBOOT USB option in my bootloader but also no effect <neither can see it>; should I try the step 3.b then? I'm not sure coz I never had lollipop on my htc

Do you have USB debugging ticked on in your phone's developers settings?
Do you have Java on your computer?
Either of these 2 things could be the reason it's not recognizing your phone because it should be able to.

No don't try step 3b. You'll need to get your device recognized through ADB first but really you should unroot the phone first then get it recognized 2nd then flash back the stock recovery file from that tutorial then relock your bootloader and then you should be able to just update through your stock system or HTC sync manager. If that fails for whatever reason then and only then should you try to flash the stock image from this tutorial. First though you've got to get your device recognized or nothing is going to work so just keep trying on that front.
uffff, I finally managed to do this but it took me many hours Thanks a lot for your help!! It seems <although I aint sure> that the problem was with the java version installed on my notebook. I installed 64-bit and after removing it I installed 32 bit, reinstalled apk and htc drivers, and adb saw my device! I then used supersu to unroot, locked the bootloader and got stuck. But then I copied the zip file into my sd card <another problem was that - I dont know why - but I couldnt copy the 1.2 gb zip file into my sd card so I changed the extension to .txt, copied and changed back to .zip; another another problem was that the file downloaded from the above mentioned tutorial was corrupted. I tried 2 times but it didn't work so I googled another file with the same name and it worked>. All in all, now I have a stock android 6.0 and Im very glad. Thank you very much for your help once again, best regards!
