Has someone cracked the bootloader now then
It looks like he just updated to android 2.1. Is your friend and employee of sony ericsson?
It's a bad quality video, but thanks for sharing.
guys... cut him some slack for sharing... It's not that the video quality is bad (ok maybe the direction of the movie is bad... First minute of watching I was wondering if it's supposed to make me fall asleep watching the sony ericsson sign, or maybe a ghostly image pops up with a scream so loud, it'd scare the beejeezus outta me)
The movie screen resolution is actually meant to be small, not full screen size of your monitor.
Keep the screen resolution to its original % and you'll see the image just fine =)
But I'm just curious... Is that phone owner a hacker or something?
He should get arrested if he is =X
painful to watch....
Hi Thanx for the movie.
Could you ask to your friend if he could extract the full rom of this device ?
This is wonderfull if we can have those files for all xda's dev !
Maybe i'm wrong ?

Yeah, I think that would help out a lot. Especially once we get custom roms rolling.
Any news for the video?
gr8 video
any more news about this anywhere?
can I also know the source of video pls?
Hello,
first of all thank you for this cute sharing!
Can your ask to your friend that made this ROM cooking if he can ensure us that has been able to use multitouch (or dualtouch, it doesn't matter) on the X10 with Android 2.1 ?
Thanks! Hope you let us know as soon as you have more info!!
p.s.: hello abm77!
It's kinda sad, I find this pre-beta/beta ROM more exciting than the actual GM release. I want a stock update with none of the crap SE adds, all that social web malware. If I want any FB, Twitter or what have you stuff on my phone I'll install it myself.
And yes, I know it can be purged somewhat from a rooted phone but you're still stuck with some residual scraps and removing all the extra stuff is annoying and shouldn't have to be done.
I'd almost be willing to pay a symbolic fee to SE if they would provide two updates instead of one when 2.1 rolls out. One officially supported and one vanilla. The vanilla one wouldn't even have to be supported and could be posted with a gigantic warning saying: "WE WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS, IF IT BREAKS IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT!!". Anything to not have to deal with *scape, FB and all that gear.

Hmm... Then I seriously think you should get another phone. X10 is about timescape and mediascape.
Maybe a Nexus One will suit you better?

Hi Alleniv!
Hey Community,
Due to the company I work for being great. They have allowed me to borrow a working SGS2 for the night. So tonight I will be taking requests for anything people would like me to try out within reason. If you have a request post it or PM me
For anyone who has questions about my honesty (not that I'm totally offended hearing there's past issues) here are some photo's...
music quality?
one word, GPS
pics or it didn't happen.
no, but seriously. some non-marketing pics would be nice.
is it retail? (logo on the front?)
Loud Speaker loudness and clarity please.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Gotta see pics. Folks don't want another masumali/hero yu situation
Get a piece of paper, write your forum name on it and take a photo with both the SGS2 and that paper on it. Then we're serious. Btw this is no offense but due to others claiming they had the phone when they didn't
If that's done then please try out the new Hubs that Samsung has integrated, then test the sound quality of the speakers AND if you connect good earphones.
Thx
why not make a video review and put it on youtube? Test the GPS
Please check if the browser render text on websites
if it is the retail or at least the android 2.3.3 version, please do a nenamark benchmark and test some heavy web pages with flash on the browser

Speaker quality is really clear now longivity of this is another question I'm unable to answer. Compared to the Vibrant the loudness is the same but it is a slight bit clearer
I'd like to know how the audio quality is for the phone.

Looks like you got an early pre production version of the SGS II if we look to the Android version. Newer versions of the SGS II run on Android 2.3.3. Anyway, I'm happy for you, I would love to get a SGS II in my hands.

How good is Touch Wiz 4.
What are the drawbacks that you have noticed so far on the phone?
Can you confirm file system and see if the bootloader is locked?
Is there any lag?

Flash is working great. Loaded case-mate.com in no time (i am running on wifi) and the flash animations on the site work flawlessly

Drawbacks so far is it is a bit laggy especially on boot but no where near what the vibrant was upon release..
I am a bit of a noob, not complete, so not sure on how to check to see if boot loader is locked or not. Remember its not rooted

Yep, I know. But there are different 'types' of pre production models. There are those from WMC that got Andoid 2.3.1 and you got newer types that run on Android 2.3.3.
So if you run a benchmark, the result would probably be low, because the software isn't fully optimized on your type/version.

Benchmark I ran was sitting at 1900
Found this floating on the TUBE.
I shared this, and as we do on XDA give credit to who started it. So I posted the original link inside the description Box to let viewers know who the true face behind the scene, sec's later 30msg's in my inbox to please share the link?? I have a feeling that this will be pulled of the sharing site tomorrow morning but hey, I could be wrong..
Hey,
That looks hella tight!! I know you can intstall ubuntu as seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGp1cqQCAKw
but that looks a lot smoother and the ease of use a lot better!
Thanks for sharing and I hope it comes soon!
It appears that the video in the first post is running a variant of Ubuntu that is geared towards multi-core phones... the second video explicitly is working on the EVO 4G, but I'm not sure how it's working as well as it is. Still looks awesome!

Thanks a lot for this interesting video!
You mentioned 'Instant Messaging' around 15:30. Can I use it to connect to a jabber/xmpp server?

You're welcome.
It is available for Ubuntu Desktop... I've just tried searching for jabber on the phone and returned no useful results. Maybe check with the developers of the IM you are currently using to see if they are going to release a version.
Pity.
Yes, I already made a feature request for an Ubuntu Touch version. Hope they will consider. To me jabber/xmpp is essential.
does somebody know, when exactly tommorow the build will be released and where to download it?

I'm sure it's going to be a media event... As for where you can download it, from Canonical's servers, of course.
LOL no advance word leaked that I can find. I'll wait for tomorrow. Maybe I'll get it as an OTA.
  nice
just nexus and nexus 4

I believe Telepathy is being used for the SMS, which means that it just needs the plugins to support different protocols and a UI to manage it.
Looks great, tried to put it on my Nexus 4 and failed.

Did you follow the Wiki?
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Install
Are you using a dedicated Ubuntu Box or a Virtual one? Or are you flashing from recovery?
What version of UT were you attempting?
Details might help us figure out what you need to make it work.

Hi Guys,
Owner of a OP2 for two years, I will soon receive my OP5. I have a question regarding Netflix.
Since a few months , Netflix add the feature of downloading a movie or an episode so you can watch it offline on your mobile or tablet.
It wasn't available on my OP2 but it was ok on my google tablet.
Do you guys have this feature on your OP2? I think it is a DRM problem
Many thanks
This feature on op2? I think you're in wrong section.. Try asking in op2 section maybe however, my oneplus 5 has the download option from netflix and my Nexus 6p too
He is asking for OP5!
If you are planning to root your new OP5, use Magisk, and option hide the root from the netflix app. And you should be good.
Many thanks for your answers guys!
