Hi guys, yesterday i tried to root my desire hd and flash a rom called icecoldsandwich 8.5, i started my phone and it got stuck at the bootlogo from ics. Then i think i deleted it from my sd card and now i can't do anything with my phone. i can enter the boot menu but nothing more.. if i select recovery, i get a red exclamation mark. I hope it can be fixed
thanx
1: boot your phone into HBOOT.
2: connect your phone to your computer.
3: make sure you see fastboot USB I red
4: run this RUU:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed.exe
Do that and we do the root process again.

How would I do that
soz I am new to this stuff so I need help
Hi.
Phone is not bricked, but stuck at a moment of the boot process. Whatever I do, it gets stuck in a loop. It seems that it's a kernel issue. I've tried everything I know to fix this (kdz updater & more than 5 firmwares), unsuccessfully... It happened while flashing with a stock 2.1 firmware from a CM7 M4 ROM.
screenshot:
I think I simply ****ed the phone so it is impossible to solve that now.
Any suggest is welcome.
Fix
IT'S A KERNEL ERROR
READ ALL FIRST!!!
Have the necessary software.
- Phone Drivers
- KDZ_updater
- The Room you want to install (.kdz)
When we light up the phone and leave us this error screen:
1. Pull battery, sim, sdcard out
2. press the power key + the Volume Down key to set the phone into download mode or (Download Mode), and only then plug USB cable... (if its not recognized unplug and plug again)
3. Disable USB LG Driver Model, this will change depending on the operating system we have in the case of windows will be in Manage> Device Manager> Modems> LG USB Drive Model -> Right Click "Disable "
4. Open KDZ_FW select type 3GQCT, Phone Mode: DIAG (if not try with CS_emergency), consider the room to install (File *. kdz).

Hey Veronica.
thanks for you attention, but I already tried every possible things at playing with kdz updater. When KDZU send the IParam 215, the phone reboots, and the error keeps happening, whatever the mode used or the firmware version.
just for saying, there is no need to hold the power buton when the battery is out. Just hold V- before pluging the usb cable.
is there a way to "format" all the datas of the phone ?
first off you do no that the only way you could have went back to 2.1 is with clockwork.
have you tried to see if fastboot works if it does flash a custom rom onto it.

Hey eoghan2t7
I have new events. I've just successfully flashed it with the 2.1 open + fb firmware. Now, it is stuck on the android logo (seems to load but keeps looping).
Fb seems to work (performed a reboot with cmd), What should I do now ?
ok go in to fb and run
fastboot -w then try and boot the phone normally.

thank you very much eoghan2t7
Phone started normally. I didn't know that to downgrade the firm it needs to do it by recovery. However, I rightly tried to flash preciesely by recovery (so wihout knowing), then I got an error and it said something like "update aborted, reboting". The kernel error appeared after that, but before I even try a normal boot. Then I directly flashed using KDZU.
So, it is solved. Thanks again.
glad you got it sorted.

always do a full wipe data/factory reset BEFORE and AFTER flash any rom!
Veronica
okay Ill' remember it
My wife was about to reboot her Tattoo yesterday. She closed the phone normally, but when she was about to start it up again it didn't.
When I try to boot it it says Tattoo, after a while a couple of droids appear on the screen and after this the phone says HTC. The HTC text seems to be "active" for a while (light flashes across the letters) but after a while it stops and a few seconds later the screen goes black.
I can go into fastboot on the phone, but can't do very much in there. If I try recovery or anything else I get a warning triangle and a phone on the screen.
I also tried flashing stock ROM, but since USB does not connect to PC I can't.
The phone runs stock ROM and is unrooted (I think). I know I was about to root it a year ago but I don't think I did. Also, when I boot with back + power I receive HTC boot options and not the one I usually get on my rooted Desire.
Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks!
I don't know what to do……
what do you mean with "USB does not connect to PC"?
Can you see a boot logcat with adb?
Do a hard reset...google this...

Hello guys, please I need some help, I rooted my daugther's phone like a week ago with the lastest virtous rom ( 3.0 maybe ??)...yesterday she told me the phone freeze by itself while she was playing, she took the battery and nothing happens and after some tries, the phone got into the opening screen ( HTC quietly something) and stays there..
I did volume down + Power, select recovery and the phone goes to Clockworkmod Recovery V5.0.2.0 , from here anything can de done. I do select, wipe, install from sd card, goes to the next screen with the hat and semicircle on the middle and stays there, doing nothing..please help me..thanks in advance
That mite be dark side sense virtuous unity shows a v when booting up anyways but define play when u say your daughter was playing with it exactly what was she doin
MyTouch HD (Black)
Kernel demonspeed v7
lagfree 1516Ghz - 768Mhz
Edited Build Prop
Beats Audio
Gingerbread 2.3.5
Dark Side Sense 3.3 !
Download either dark sense or vu from your pc and move it to the device sdcard. Not to a specific folder but just the sdcard. Insert the sdcard back into the device and flash the rom nornally and reboot.

In ClockworkMod Recovery, the power button takes you up one level in the menus. To select a menu item, you need to press the touchpad button.
I found this to be one of the problems on recovery I was pressing power instead of the touchpad..so I got that part so far,,but now Im trying to get a new rom and while doing the wipe data wipe cache, got so many error can't mount/cache/recovery...any ideas or looks like that's it !!!
Finally got it back to stock rom following this :
The simplest solution is to return to the stock rom, do a permaroot & flash the clockworkmod recovery.
Download the official 2.2.1 rom, put it to the root of your sdcard, and try to update.
Rename it to PD15IMG.zip before updating.
I had the same problem when installing dark sense. Ended up flashing vu without any problems.

I have rooted my phone and use droid 2 bootstrap loader to put Clock work mod on it. I wanted to put cm7 on it so i edited the assert kernal command as brickster had said on a previous post and now it boots up and freezes at the red M screen. I can boot into the stock recovery but not Clock work mod. What should I do?

I had the same issue and can tell you now whatever you do, don't flash the sbf supposedly for our phones. It will brick it and you will have to do a warranty exchange.
If you have adb set up on your computer, connect the phone and boot into stock recovery. Open up cmd and navigate to the phone and type "adb reboot recovery" (no quotes) to see if that helps. You did backup with nandroid I hope?

Yes I did a nandroid backup. Thanks I'll try that.
For some odd reason my computer isn't picking up my phone even though it did a few hours ago when i went into stock recovery. Maybe i need to find and reinstall the adb drivers
Ok here's what you have to do. Don't go into stock recovery at all. If you do your computer won't recognize you plugged your phone in. Instead just let it sit with the red M then plug your phone into your computer. It will then see your phone and you can use adb to issue the command "reboot recovery" it will then go into CWM.

Awesome man, that's definitely good to know when I get the itch to try a custom rom again. I'd just like to know why we're not able to flash any roms without these issues.

It's because we started out with 2.3.5 in our phone. Most people on this forum started out with 2.2. I also can't install the update.zip that's supposed to put it back to normal because I started with 2.3.5
