I searched all over google and I can not find the right theme. With my Ace was easier to deodex its stock rom but now i can not find a specific topic for I9000
I must clarify that before I had an Ace, and there was a sequence of commands in adb shell, if someone had that you post please.
I dont want a deodexed rom to flash via CWM. I want the adb shell commands.
Salu2 and sorry for the inconvenience.

Can someone with a INTL version of this phone with the AP/wifi tether please give me their /data/
Adb remount
adb pull /data/

You should've posted this in the Galaxy S forum so you could get a response from someone with an international Galaxy S.

Good point. Rhcp0112345, probably a good idea to ask for this in the Galaxy S forum since they have what you need and we don't. Are you planning to try to make it run on Android. Kudos to you for doing this.

Rhcp0112345, somebody posted in the other thread about mobileAP.apk that Modaco custom rom r2 for Galaxy S contains all the apps and they are deodexed already. Just a matter of downloading that and pulling out the apk. The application by itself might however rely on some additional libraries to function.
Here's the MobileAP.apk from Modaco rom.
There is also libmobileap.jar that I found in /system/framework that might be needed perhaps. I am attaching it too. I had to add .zip extension to the libmobileap.jar so that I could attach it. Just rename it back to libmobileap.jar. I don't know if it is necessary but I thought I would include it just in case.
THanks.
But that does not help me.
I need a /data/ dump from a rooted phone.
The package wont install without it.
Hi guys,
I am using shubCRAFT version of Android for Leo and I am really happy with it.
So, I like to do some customization on my phone, but I don't know is it possible to install
any CM6 theme. I tried with ROM manager, but unsuccessful..
any tips?
thx in adv.
Tip one, read and search, then if still in doubt, read and search, also, read and follow forum rules.

this is actually a good question considering our htc hd2s aren't the typical android devices...I'd be quite intrigued to know how to install themes myself. Yes there is a theme forum dedicated to this but to be frank for the linux and adnroid n00b it is both difficult to follow and broad.
I'd like to see a good write up about this personally

I would be interested in understanding how to theme the android on HD2 as well!
i do not think that the rules valid for native Android phones are applicable in this case.

I agree. I have noticed in the market there are other apps like PandaHome etc and I have also noticed that there are themes associated with them. I have not tried any of these yet, but i might soon.
What's the worst that can happen, right? (Famous last words...)

Android rules apply. Depending on what you want themed, there are lots of tutorials on it in the android section.
I always use adb push... after I've customized what I want via drag and drop using an archive manager like 7zip or fileroller on linux.
I'll be putting a tut up on my site soon but in the meantime feel free to ask any questions here or via twitter.

good call.... for right now, ADB or droid explorer are about the only ways that moving files to/from android are possible since we cant flash a theme via recovery.

ADB push will work for just about anything as long as you have SU or root access. If you get errors or ADB says that permission denied you will need to either mount /system or adb shell and then type su to get superuser permissions
like stated above if you have questions, you can hit me up via twitter. its alot faster than the messages here mainly because i can reply on the go without having to use the web or anything.

Hi,
I really need an Arabic support to my milestone 2 device. I've searched the net for a solution with no result, it might be due to the fact that milestone 2 hasn't been officially released in the middle east!!
I'm quite sure it's possible because milestone 1, Defy and Atrix users have had a solution for this issue, then why not me?
Please guys any help would be appreciated, I'm fed up with this!
I'm running the latest firmware 2.2.2
Thanks in advance!.

search this forum. somebody else has asked a similar question needing arabic support. if im not mistaken there is no arabic support. the only way will be to write one yourself. as i said, search the forum and you will find ur answer
EDIT: there's a reason a thread has been created for general questions. had you looked through that thread there wouldnt be a need to create a new thread on this. refer to this thread for your answer.

We would have all languages if we would have a Cyanogenmod ROM but we haven't at this moment. You can eventually install More Locale app from market, and add your locale. After that you will get your language in all apps that support it.

Just install the "More Locale" app from the Android Market, and add your (Arabic) locale in this app. After that all installed apps will recognize your system locale as the Arabic and automatically will be translated to this language if support it. Just try and see results.
agent008my, mkmck or anyone can help, if you could guide me through this?
I've found this generic Arabic files for android 2.2 & 2.3
but I don't know if I can apply them to milestone 2 and how? because I'm no expert in milestone 2 firmware, especially that Arabic is shown in my device but the problem is that it's not connected letters, so there is a little hope here
here is the link please check it out:

the steps to the link there is pretty straight forward. you have to make sure your phone is rooted though. to root your phone, check through the android development section of this MS2 forum and you should be able to root your phone then. read carefully, and then read again before you attempt a root. once rooted, download root explorer or something similar and you should be able to follow the steps in that blog pretty easily
edit: you should be able to search through all the extension files stated (right from checking if your ROM is deodexed to modding the system/framework extensions) in that blog after you have rooted your phone via root explorer or similar
always always perform a nandroid backup before you start rooting your phone or installing the patch. you can learn more about nandroid backups and similar android terminology and rooting through these threads:

I installed Root explorer and before rooting I've explored the Framework. I found a framework with odex extension which make it not suitable for the method the guy mentioned.
So my question here, is deodexing the rom a possible thing for a basic user (I've read it's a complicated method), or do you advice me not to do it? -to be able to apply the files-
Thanks very much!.

to be very honest with you, here is my understanding on deodexing:
Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space. Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk. This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything.
to be honest i know nothing about deodexing or how difficult it is to carry out. however, i did take the liberty of searching some up for you, and there is a tutorial on this forum about deodexing. its very complete and it should be able to help you.

Seriously, just post them in that thread, don't create a new one please.
1. Install Unlocked Bootloader and CWM
2. Install Superuser (sometimes included in bootloader app along with BB)
3. Flash Install one of the modded or OC kernels.
Life is good.
Read the stickies, and the guides, that's why we post them there.

You were warned to do a full nandroid backup before you proceed to flash Ubuntu. Next time you flash, make a backup. I would like to give you a in-depth on how to revert back to android but I'm in class at the moment. (LOL. Sorry. I hope someone will help you soon!)
Suppose you could read the guide Ubuntu posted on their FAQ on how to go back to Android...but then again that's far to easy

i tried this in this afternoon but nothing happen. is there any another way?
just flash any rom/stock rom/nandroid backup through the recovery that ubuntu installed on your phone.
you don't have a rom to flash on your phone?
use ADB to push it to your phone when you're in the recovery.
FFS why can't people read simple guides and use their brain for a second?

If you're a n00b why on earth did you flash something so radically different? Surely you thought to know the restore routine before hand?
Read efrant's guide in General, it has every step in there. If you can't follow that then you're on your own...
finally i can reinstall anroid to my phone using adb push thanks so much
So you didn't even follow efrant's guide? What's the point in asking for help if you don't bother to take it when offered?
