Hi, I have an huawei ideos x5 (u8800pro)
I updated to 2.3.5 official (B526) from the stock 2.2
After that the wifi stopped working.
What I have done so far:
1.rooted the phone, installed the Aurora_4.1 4.0.4 IMM76l eng android 4.0.4
2. Tryed to reset the mac adress with Rom manager (Fix Permissions)
3. Overrided MAC Address:
(-Installed Terminal Emulator from Market.
-Run terminal and enter these commands:
su
setprop persist.sys.wifimac mac_param=11:22:33:44:55:66)
4. Tryed many apps that change the MAC address
5. restored phone to factory default.
current status:
IMEI is ok
IP address ok
Wi-Fi mac address : unavailable
Blue tooth address : unavailable
serial number : unknown
I understand that this is not an issue with the aurora os, I just need a way to set my MAC address.
Thank you.
You had installed aurora version for non pro phone ))) read more carefully what you are doing. Non pro, pro and 51 versions of ideos x5 is diferent in hardware.

Try flashing the stock rom and then reupgrade, you must of had a bad flash or flashed the wrong firmware as bronxitas said.
Thanks
Many thanks, I will try the proper stock rom first. :good:

Sorry, accidently hit the Thanks button instead of Quote.
First: Wrong thread, this should be in Q&A.
Second: This is not possible yet, as the current version of MAGLDR doesn't have the possibility to pass parameters (other then AD SD DIR) to the kernel.
Hopefully, in a future update, Cotulla will add this to MAGLDR. For now, you can only use the fake MAC-address supllied with the NAND-builb.
MOD: Can you move this thread to the Q&A Section please?
Sincerely,
Mac
Apparently, there is a solution. I found this on one of the NAND build threads:

guys this is a temporary way to change wifi mac address in 0.2 build
0.2 build is prerooted so we can change system files
install root explorer 2.13
go to /system/etc/ find file calibration and open it as view in text editor
in first line you will see the mac address
put your desired mac address, save and exit
and then make reboot
voila now you have new mac address
thanks to osm http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9806811&postcount=17 for this trick

but, BT mac address how to change?...
So, just NAND flashed my HD2 over to DFT's .2 release of Android. This gave me the infamous MAC address issue of 00:11:22:33:44:55 but the file given here doesn't exist. The location exists, but there's no file by the name of calibration in that location. I used Root Explorer to search my phone even for calibration and it didn't find a thing. Any ideas what it may actually be called?
I also need to change bluetooth mac...
Is there a chance to change it???
no one a idear?
WiFi MAC Address Workaround:
Must have Android Developer Kit installed
1. adb pull /system/etc/calibartion
2. open calibration file with wordpad. Not notepad.
3. change the line that says macaddr=00:11:22:33:44:55 to either your real mac or just increment the last digit
4. save file and close
5. adb push calibration /system/etc
6. reboot phone

Not all builds have this file nor read this file.
Sent from my HD2 Droid (HD) using XDA App
and bluetooth mac?!
any one knows how to change BLUETOOTH mac address with NAND?
Before I upgrade to NAND Android ROM I would like to backup my WiFi/BT MAC address.
How to get BT MAC from WinMobile ?
with the new NAND builds, the mac address could be:
1- fixed [00:11:22:33....]
2- http://www.gitorious.com/linux-on-w...mmit/4c31f2fb265ae68b82ed5e8ea4bec91208837011
depends of what kernel you are using
I was hoping to enter into Android whatever BT MAC address I had under WinMo.
Found it.
Settings->Bluetooth->About
hello all
I have a problem with the new kernel Tytung 11
Wi-Fi does not work
Tytung says it's changed address Wi-Fi
and update the white list of the wireless router
how do you '??
thank you very much
Which version of android you have ?
Android ginger 2.3.5
Roma MIUI 1.8.19
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10429937&postcount=3
maybe it's the change my address?
Hmm, dont now.. I flash new kernel, same 2.3.5 droid, and have connection to wi fi without any glitch..
Maybe you should try a soft reset?
You need to get the new mac address of your phone first. Go to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Wi-Fi Settings->[Menu] Advanced -> MAC Address.
Next you need to go into your wifi router's settings and add the mac address to the list of addresses allowed to connect to the router. This is different for every router unfortunately, so I cannot help you with that.
You can modify to full permissions of wpa_supplicant in /system/bin use root explorer.
but after reboot you must do it again.

I had the need to spoof my mac in my s4 when recently bought, because mac filter in my homeĀ“s wi-fi so i download mac spoofer apps from google play, none work then, but this works https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wireless.macchanger, obviusly rooted and busybox installed,
for permantly mac addres change:
my address is 00:1A:73:XX:XX:XX in stock roms, in custom roms or stock with custom kernel the mac change into 84:38:38:XX:XX:XX, i thought that was a flashing bug, but turns out to be that custom kernels read the mac addres different from stock kernels, stock kernels read the info from these two files using root explorer /efs/wifi/.mac.info and efs/wifi/.mac.info.bak the mac addres is storage there and editig those files with root explorer to the same mac writen correctly, rember both and delete /efs/wifi/.mac.info and efs/wifi/.mac.info.bak.bak if created, and flash a STOCK rom with odin the mac address will change permantly unless an efs backup is restored or flashing a custom kernel.
try this at your own risk if needed, and always, always make an efs backup first i recomend efs back up pro in xda windows tool, this is high risk procedure and can mess your wifi,
Sorry for my english and good luck

Try switching the OTP NV filters on/off etc. I had similar issue on U8860 and somehow I was able to write all the info back eventually. I don't remember what I specifically changed though. Great to know IMEI is back though!

Thanks Blefish,
The IMEI is back as I wanted
I tried that option as well. As you can see on the screenshot, I see the WiFi keys in the application as before but the same does not show on my device.
Tried both OTP NV Enable & Disable but still the same result.
If you recommend, ill flash the official update again if that can bring back the wifi keys or else ill leave it as it coz your Ideos Setting app does have that option and you I hope we will have it in CM12 as well
EDIT
DFS Demo helped in ficing WiFi keys. NV option helps as Blefish pointed out
Now all if fine - IMEI & WIFI
thanks a lot for your help and assistance

Hi Blefish, I would like to know if your SN is correct (in settings) after using DFS.
On my Honor I have everyting OK only when I restore it via 5iromtoolbox, but I cant flash any rom except B939 after that :crying:
I wonder if you have SN the same as MAC in settings, too

In my U8800 everything is ok, however, U8860 had zero imei and zero BT/MAC address (which was set to a random one). The serial number shown in the projectmenu tool (Huawei firmware stock) shows correct serial number (the 16 digit one, same as on the phone behind the battery).
In U8800pro/U8860 ICS release, Huawei is using the Settings->Status serial number same as MAC address. If the serial number shows unknown, MAC addresses are incorrect too.

For TWRP (and maybe more) .
Hello guys,
my U8800-51 is on the latest LegacyHuawei CyanogenMod 11.0 by Mr Blefish but i ended up without no WIFI MAC and BLuetooth. So i tried as stated on this post to downgrade to android 2.3 but when it gets to part 2/2 of the installation, gives me an error... Then, i proceeded to use DFS v14 to try to write the MAC adress (still on CyanogenMod) but it failed to find the COM PORT through PC (ADB install correct and showing the device, USB debuggin enable). The only way i managed to see the port in the device manager and DFS is tu putting the phone on the PINK SCREEN (Download mode, right?). but, DFS throw me some errors like CPS_BPSR and so on.
I also tried enabling DIAG port through ADB but didn't work.
So far, it has failed... But maybe you can help me.
I understand this is a very old phone, but i live in a 3rd world country where phones are ver expensive (not to mention an Hyperinflation process that we are living through). So, i have to try everything to save it.
Thanks in advance for you help
Regards
