Try switching the OTP NV filters on/off etc. I had similar issue on U8860 and somehow I was able to write all the info back eventually. I don't remember what I specifically changed though. Great to know IMEI is back though!

Thanks Blefish,
The IMEI is back as I wanted
I tried that option as well. As you can see on the screenshot, I see the WiFi keys in the application as before but the same does not show on my device.
Tried both OTP NV Enable & Disable but still the same result.
If you recommend, ill flash the official update again if that can bring back the wifi keys or else ill leave it as it coz your Ideos Setting app does have that option and you I hope we will have it in CM12 as well
EDIT
DFS Demo helped in ficing WiFi keys. NV option helps as Blefish pointed out
Now all if fine - IMEI & WIFI
thanks a lot for your help and assistance

Hi Blefish, I would like to know if your SN is correct (in settings) after using DFS.
On my Honor I have everyting OK only when I restore it via 5iromtoolbox, but I cant flash any rom except B939 after that :crying:
I wonder if you have SN the same as MAC in settings, too

In my U8800 everything is ok, however, U8860 had zero imei and zero BT/MAC address (which was set to a random one). The serial number shown in the projectmenu tool (Huawei firmware stock) shows correct serial number (the 16 digit one, same as on the phone behind the battery).
In U8800pro/U8860 ICS release, Huawei is using the Settings->Status serial number same as MAC address. If the serial number shows unknown, MAC addresses are incorrect too.

For TWRP (and maybe more) .
Hello guys,
my U8800-51 is on the latest LegacyHuawei CyanogenMod 11.0 by Mr Blefish but i ended up without no WIFI MAC and BLuetooth. So i tried as stated on this post to downgrade to android 2.3 but when it gets to part 2/2 of the installation, gives me an error... Then, i proceeded to use DFS v14 to try to write the MAC adress (still on CyanogenMod) but it failed to find the COM PORT through PC (ADB install correct and showing the device, USB debuggin enable). The only way i managed to see the port in the device manager and DFS is tu putting the phone on the PINK SCREEN (Download mode, right?). but, DFS throw me some errors like CPS_BPSR and so on.
I also tried enabling DIAG port through ADB but didn't work.
So far, it has failed... But maybe you can help me.
I understand this is a very old phone, but i live in a 3rd world country where phones are ver expensive (not to mention an Hyperinflation process that we are living through). So, i have to try everything to save it.
Thanks in advance for you help

Hello to all,
Currently McDonalds provided a free wifi for 20mins for each device
Is it possible to change my MAC ADDRRESS of my PPC to enjoy other 20mins?
and I'd search for some old post...
is that the MAC stored in the wifi chip's and there's nothing to do with the registry,
The only possible way is to change the original drivers ?
thankyou
PS. My Hermes is running WM5
There is some discussion regarding changing the MAC address of the Hermes using a custom mode controller for the TIACXWLN driver. Check out this thread here.
Since I haven't found the time to try downgrading to WM5 to test the older driver out, would you be so kind as to help test a theory of mine by installing the custom mode controller to you device to see if you can set a custom MAC address and/or set promiscuous mode? The file can be downloaded for free and is located at the bottom of AlexB's website found here.
Once you download and install the .cab, the program can be found in
"/program files/custom controller/tiacxwln_ctrl.exe"
Enable WIFI in your com manager and execute this program. Let us know if you can successfully set your MAC address or enable promiscuous mode.
Cheers and good luck

Hi,
Where I work I've access to the WLAN with my LPT. The WLAN is configured with MAC address access list.
Is it possible to change the MAC Address of my P3600 to access the WLAN?
Thanks

No absolutely not possible. You should let your mac adress added to the network.
hello, i don't see the MAC address in settings and the wi-fi doesn't turn on now.
What can i do?????
Help!
and, as i enter in bootloader, after USB i read in Red: WLAN ERROR.
what can i do??
Even if it were possible to change the MAC address, which can be done for your laptop, your employer obviously has a reason for not having the WiFi open to all who have the WEP/WPA key and circumventing this may well not be looked on favourably. Best suggestion is to register your PDA with the IT department so it works without hacking anything
yah
I do agree with deedee

Does anyone know information about how to connect the Samsung Fascinate as Diag Mode driver? ie: this type of connection needed for QPST/QXDM/CDMA Workshop.
I tried 'debugging mode' enabled from the settings in the Applications, but it didn't create any new port that would recognize for my phone.
The Epic solution is pretty strait forward
Install USB Drivers:
32 Bit or 64 Bit
Put phone into DIAG mode:
Dial ##8778#
Select UART = Modem, USB = Modem.

Click to collapse
This doesn't seem to work on Fascinate though.

Thank you for the steps. I was also able to get the phone to be read by QPST and CDMA Workshop. The odd thing is that when I tried to read the phone again the next day, none of the software will read the phone. Interestingly, I can see the COM port and the Modem port in the Device Manager, but the software refuses to read the phone. I am wondering if I accidentally changed one of the settings to turn it into UART or something to this effect, but the code that I found for this (##UPST#) does not work on the phone, even with hidden menu enabled. Any suggestions, currently I am stuck with a phone that can only do voice and text, no 3G? Thank you in advance!
You could try Diag mode
Diag/Testing Mode

QPST sees it, but nothing is editable, in Dial-Up mode?
Thank you for your response! I tried that, it took me to the menu, plugged the phone to the PC, Device Manager shows Samsung Diagnostic Port, I use CDMA Workshop to try to at least read the phone. I connect to the correct COM port, but CDMAWS fails in reading it. I don't get it, it used to work fine with almost the exact same setup. I uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled them, same thing. Wiped the phone, same thing. Kind of frustrating. The only resort I have now is to maybe just get it fully flashed to stock so that I can start from scratch again. Odd, I have never had a phone that was giving me a COM port that phone software consistently fails to read, especially when it worked before. lol. Any assistance with anything else I may try would be greatly appreciated.

I've read tons of threads and everyone says go to Device Manager and click Ports and then change the port on the Samsung to port 1 and it will show up blah blah Blah.... there is no list that says "Ports" in Device Manager. I have this DialUpNetworking thing checked and debug mode and the port1 shows up in QPST but it says "No Phone". And yes all drivers are installed.

**33284 is what ur looking for

No, I know exactly what he's doing. The phone needs to be in network dial up mode. But for qpst to reckognize it, he needs to add the com.
I found that only the .323 version of qpst worked for me. Also there is the *229 (i think) will reprogram those settings you may have messed up, maybe try that?

323 works for basic flash, however if he's trying to get ppp configs setup for 3g and what not, he will need build 215. 323 will always revert to the original settings. If he's just trying to flash the prl, then it's no big deal. If he's trying to flash over to a different carrier, then it'll revert to vrz settings.

Sorry, accidently hit the Thanks button instead of Quote.
First: Wrong thread, this should be in Q&A.
Second: This is not possible yet, as the current version of MAGLDR doesn't have the possibility to pass parameters (other then AD SD DIR) to the kernel.
Hopefully, in a future update, Cotulla will add this to MAGLDR. For now, you can only use the fake MAC-address supllied with the NAND-builb.
MOD: Can you move this thread to the Q&A Section please?
Sincerely,
Mac
Apparently, there is a solution. I found this on one of the NAND build threads:

guys this is a temporary way to change wifi mac address in 0.2 build
0.2 build is prerooted so we can change system files
install root explorer 2.13
go to /system/etc/ find file calibration and open it as view in text editor
in first line you will see the mac address
put your desired mac address, save and exit
and then make reboot
voila now you have new mac address

but, BT mac address how to change?...
So, just NAND flashed my HD2 over to DFT's .2 release of Android. This gave me the infamous MAC address issue of 00:11:22:33:44:55 but the file given here doesn't exist. The location exists, but there's no file by the name of calibration in that location. I used Root Explorer to search my phone even for calibration and it didn't find a thing. Any ideas what it may actually be called?
I also need to change bluetooth mac...
Is there a chance to change it???
no one a idear?
WiFi MAC Address Workaround:
Must have Android Developer Kit installed
1. adb pull /system/etc/calibartion
2. open calibration file with wordpad. Not notepad.
3. change the line that says macaddr=00:11:22:33:44:55 to either your real mac or just increment the last digit
4. save file and close
5. adb push calibration /system/etc
6. reboot phone

What have you done in IDEOS X5 Settings app? Did you change your WiFi MAC Address? Not all MAC Addresses are correct. Best use some kind of generator, like this for example.

bat how use MAC Address Generator ?
Well, just click "generate Mac address", and you will get something like this: " 7B-31-DC-83-EB-25".
Write this into your device instead of 00-00-00-00-00-00 that you have now. And everything should work.
