I live in Australia and am on the Vodafone 3G/ HSPA network.
Just got this speed on my One X international version.
Anyone else getting speeds this high on 3G? Who needs 4G with almost 1MB/sec on 3G
Here's mine. It's supposed to be 2M/sec so I think thats good.

Well i've got mine set to Bytes not bits. In your units mine is 7.5 Mb/sec. I'm not complaining.....just thought it was pretty darn good.
Mine is 1 Mb/ sec
I changed the settings and got these results. 285,2kB/s down and 56kB/s up.

anyone else want to chime in?>
I download file on the speed 350kb/s in 3.5G
My sister on Talk Mobile which runs off Vodafone, fastest I've ever seen on mobile networks here in the UK. I get similar on my Vodafone sim but she's got unlimited data.
These speeds are at home most places in London you'd be lucky to even get half of that.

The highest I've got was 3.61 up, and 1.1 down!
6640kbps downlink / 747kbps uplink
T-Mobile Hungary, Desire DHD, Absolution 3.7 ROM
Question
How do you get this values (downlink / uplink) ? Is there a good benchmark for mobile phones? My provider promised to me a maximum of 7,2 Mbit/s - I don't believe it!
Best regards

Just wondering if all the differnt UK networks offer the same speeds on HSDPA or do they vary greatly?
I have been with tmobile for probably the last4 or 5 years... so have only really had experiance of that network since using HSDPA,,, and i was with 3 beforethat but dont remember HSDPA being in widespread use so long ago,, lol
Im just curious as with the advent of the newer smartphones are most networks the same for internet use or are others head and shoulders above the rest in terms or speed?
My wildfire gets about 1.5 outside london on o2

Does anyone else experience this or have any solutions I can try. I'm getting about 0.12 kbps on "3G" and only 2mb on wifi sitting right next to my router with Bright house Road Runner Turbo. My PC gets about 20mbps. So what gives? Is this just a low data speed phone or is something not right? Here are the specs:
Android 2.2.3
Radio-2.22.27.08
Kernel-ezterry v1.5.1f
ROM-DREAMteam Froyo v2.0.0
try upateing radio to .25 in ezterrys 2708+ thread
also if you look for his ezgingerbread rom there is a file there you can flash in recovery to update gprs from 10 to 12 that helps some to get faster speeds.
also if you go into dialer and type
*#*#4636#*#*
you can run some tests and change how your radio

Is there a list of these extra codes for the G! online somewhere?
maybe i never looked but im sure somewhere.
look up maybe "htc android phone dialer"
Thanks for the help. Did the gprs fix and the radio and still getting the exact same speeds. I called simple mobile and they refreshed the network blah blah. Same exact thing. I have 2 G1's on different accounts and they both top out at about 120kpbs. This sucks! I'm also getting full bars and 3G symbols.
well you may want to consider tmobile, not sure how awesome they are in your neck of the woods, but where i live i get reception where no one else does and i pay 170 after taxes for 4 plans unlimited. not too shabby out here

hey
im dont have my g1 anymore and when i did i never had a sim in it, but upon looking at simple mobile's web site under approved phones, it says this:
Important Note about 2G and 3G Phones
If your phone says it is a 3G phone but it does not support the 1700mhz band, it will operate at 2G (EDGE) speeds on our network.

does the g1 support 1700mhz?
Yes. A G1 is a T-Mobile phone, and runs 3G on the 1700 band. Simple Mobile is a T-Mobile sub.

well if you have the simple mobile $40 plan, it limits speeds to 128 kbps, if you have the $60 plan then you have a problem.

Are you serious? I have the $40 plan but it's supposed to be 3G. Why is it that way?
I never really saw speeds much above 120k. Might just be a phone / processor limitation.

G1 supports up to 7.2 mbps, so no its not a limitation there

Back when my G1 was new, it was much faster. It slowed (including bandwidth speeds) over time with each OTA it got. I imagine it is like a 486 PC which was super fast with Windows 3.1, then slower with 95, and even slower with 98. To prove this point, try flashing DREAMING.nbh and going back to Android 1.0 RC29 and see what the speed is. My wife still loves her G1, and with only a few apps on it, 1.6 crawls. My Nexus S has also slowed a lot since going from 2.3 to 4.0.x to 4.1.1.
The speedtest app was too unreliable for me. My Nexus S on 2.3 barely did 5 MB/s on wifi, while I got 15 MB/s in the browser using flash (same as my PC). I can confirm the 15 was correct from the bandwidth graphs on my router which has DD-WRT firmware.
Just to say that I'm running the new Tmobile US version of this phone with an Orange UK Sim card and it is running very fast in London. Orange already trialing 4G LTE offering here, and I'm usually reaching speeds of 8 MB downloads 2.5 to 3 MB uploads.
BUT... I still really want UMA/ Wfi calling to work... Orange have refused to let UK Galaxy S3 users have a firmware update that would allow UMA. This is very strange as they do have UMA calling for all-blackberries for example many other android phones.
My phone has UMA enabled for the US T mobile Sim card, which is fantastic i can call the US free from London. It's just too bad I don't have settings for Orange UK UMA...
I don't think those are LTE speeds, I get 13.5 meg down on Three UK in many places around London.

Wish I lived in London, I struggle for 3meg download on Three, a few miles out of York. In York center I get 8-9 meg.

So it sounds like you must be kidding myself. I guess I consider anything over 10 MB really for 4G? As everything everywhere will only really be doing the slower version of 4G LTE (21 MB or so?)
Isint that kind of low? I get 9 mbits /sec speed with my 9300 international version in hspa+ in District capitals here in Portugal. With a lte capable phone we get 60/70 mbit per second in speed tests.
Last I heard, the T999 didn't have LTE enabled as T-Mobile US have not rolled it out yet. Likely has hardware support, since it should functionally be the same hardware as the AT&T variant, but that doesn't help you much.

Exactly, it supports 42 mbits /sec. Hspa+, check http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_III
US T999 Running at 15MB Speeds London / UK

Correct, this is HSPA+. I am now seeing 15m+, so a big improvement. EE/Orange currently offer 3.5G HSPA+ 21, and '4G' =HSPA+ 42. I do not believe that Orange will roll out true 4G beyond 42mb for sometime.
Honestly, Anything over 2 MB that is consistent is fantastic...
Hi guys, I have a pay monthly sim which is from T-mobile and it will end in 4 Months and i am waiting for Samsung s4 release. Basically which network provider is better? I want to swap to Three because they have cheap and good plan for the S4.. What is your experience with this network provider? Do they have fast internet? are they better than T-mobile?
Regards.
LTE has been deployed in a few cities already and the DC-HSPA speeds are pretty good. Not sure about Three though as I've never really heard of them. LTE speeds seem to be consistently 20Mbps down and around 30-50msec pings from the screenshots I've seen for KC and Vegas. And getting the $30 5GB plan is really good.
I assume you're talking about the UK? Three aren't rolling out 4g until q4 of this year, tmobile will never roll out 4g, you need to go to EE for that. Three's dchspa is great from my experience-

Tmobile just launched 4G Lte march 27th.

I have a Nexus 4 on Three currently, using their £12.90 plan with AYCE data, speeds seem to fluctuate alot for me, between 0.5Mbps and 12Mbps in the same room of my house, depending on the day. Ping times are lower than 100ms 80% of the time, so fast page loading. My Mum is on T-Mobile (using an iPhone 4 so no DC-HSDPA, not sure if T-Mobile support it anyway) and her speeds are never higher than 2Mbps down with 200ms ping, haven't tried her sim in my phone so can't comment on if it's phone related or network, but what I suggest is get a Three payg sim, top it up with a bit of credit and check the speeds in your area, also check their coverage map as they don't have a 2G backup everywhere (only rural places with little to no 3G)
Is it just me or at the LTE speeds pretty slow ?
I'm getting 6.3Mbps down and about 3.8 up...
Seems slow to me ... my LTE icon shows up on the top.
Cant speak to bell (rogers here)but I just picked my N3 up today and hadnt run a speedtest till now. Sitting in my basement and got a few in the high 40s down and around 10 up...both are slow but not the best signal down here lol
But yeah yours are way off for sure..id be on the phone with bell if I were you.
