$25 google play credit? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just added a credit card to my google wallet as it instructed. I'm trying to buy an app with the credit but on the payment dropdown it only shows my credit card and no credit at all. Any way to check if I have google play credit?

I've had this happen when the purchase was more than the credit I had. How much is the app you're trying to purchase?

its only 2 dollars. Why can't I see my credit?

Two things:
1. Did you receive the "Your $25.00 Google Play balance is ready to use." email after setting up your tablet?
2. Do you have multiple GMail accounts on the tablet? If so, make sure you're making the purchase with the account you used to setup the tablet.

Is it still possible to get multiple $25 Play store credits? I searched for this info, but couldn't find it.

No work-around that still works? I saw some people mention SwitchMe.

Over there it says: "If you didn't recieve the credit, you may not be eligible to receive the credit"
Now what exactly determines if you're eligible or not? I mean I just got my nexus 7 today from bestbuy.ca

Do factory reset of your nexus 7. You will get the credit after that. I also faced the same issue after factory reset I got the credit and email too.

I'm planning on buying a used Nexus 7. Is it one playstore credit per device?

Money back from Google Wallet

So now that Google disabled the Google Wallet prepaid card, how do we get our money back we put on it or have access to it.
I logged on to Google Wallet website and only my credit cards I setup show up, the prepaid card doesn't show up. I would think Google would allow you to see and manage that card from the website, but you can't.
What do you guys think of this situation?
I don't really need the money from the card now, but I would think Google should at least send an email to Google Wallet user explaining the situation with the security of the app and fate of our money.
Right there with you buddy. Its bunk.
I have about $20 invested in Wallet myself
I think you can still use the rest of the money on it but you just can't add anymore. I just used it on Friday.

^^^This is correct.
they still should have sent out a brief email....it would have taken approximately 0 effort on their part.....
if this is the case, then they need to start supporting more major credit card companies....like...hmmm....i dunno.....visa lol
My balance says 0. I did find this screen:

I hope someone like Chase decides to add NFC payments to their banking app. They seem to know what the customer wants.
How about Lucid kernel???

I can't even log into my wallet app, its like perpetual "trying to unlock". I assume it'll be fixed quickly, or at least I hope.

They would if Visa would let them. Visa is trying to do it's own NFC thing and will not make a deal with Google.

Weird I could have sworn I saw visa joining Google Wallet for NFC and that all the paper work was being taken care of lol.. but if visa makes an NFC app then I'm using both Wallet and Visa ^_^

Speak for yourself. At one point my card was still there but money bank would not verify so it said 0 when i actually did have money on there. Finally, my money<---- not card, is back.
Google re-enabled provisioning last night. All is back to normal again. You can recharge and add prepaid cards again.
But the people who reset their wallet app data during the non provision period are stuck waiting for google. Mine still says prepaid unavailable

I didn't get my 25$ credit?

Okay, I got my Nexus 7 from Gamestop and noticed I didn't get the set-up screen when I first turned it on.
So I didn't get the 25$ credit? But I did get the Transformers movie...
Anyone help?
Damn that sucks. Try a factory reset maybe?

So, the guy told me he can't help me because I got it from GameStop and not the Google Play store. He told me to try a Factory Reset, and then call GameStop if that doesn't work.
Well, that's irritating.

When did you log the device into your account?
If you didn't get a setup screen at all, was there any seal to the box? Had it been broken? It's possible it had been used before by someone else before you got it? I'd want to exchange it.
Factory Reset is worth a shot, good luck.

Odd the credit comes from Google. You got the movie which is odd. I would try Google again or ask for a manager. Switching tablets probably won't help since the credit is per account.
No, the seal wan't broken. And I'm going to try a Factory Reset. If that doesn't work, I will call GameStop tomorrow.
I've seen a few people on other forums mention the $25 not showing up. The common theme among them was that they already had a credit card(s) associate with their Google Wallet. The trick that worked for them was to removed any cards from the account, do factory reset, and then it gave them the correct setup screen for the credit. Not sure if that's your issue, but figured I'd pass it along in case it helps.

I bought a 16gb from someone who got it from Gamestop & I didn't get the $25 credit either. Either cause its from GS or cause I got the credit when I registered my I/O unit.

calling gamestop will only lead to you being on hold, and being told call google.

Delete all your credit cards from Google Wallet then factory reset and start over. It worked for some people but not me.

25$ play credit got added on wrong account

Hi Guys,
My sister bought me a Nexus 7 (BTW I live in India). Before sending it to me she unknowingly added her google account (assuming doing a factory reset later before she sends it to India). so the 25$ credit is added to her account now. Is there anything now I can do to get it transferred to my account. Does contacting google helps anything here ? She tried resetting/adding my account. nothing changed at all. Any suggestions for this awkward situation ?
My second account told me I have a free 25 credit waiting for me once I added a credit card to the play store so try that maybe?

So, you've gotten two $25 credit on 2 different Google accounts ( one $25 credit per account) using the same Nexus 7? I thought they closed that loop hole.

This worked in the UK at least, for me & a friend who bought a Nexus 7 from me after I'd already entered my Google Account details. And no I didn't get the Play credit twice! We each got it.
1. Make sure you have a Play account with a working credit card - make a test purchase of eg a free ebook (like the N7 guidebook!) to make sure the Play store recognises your credit card. Even using an initial instead of full name etc may throw it - make sure the details in your Play account exactly match your name etc as on your credit card. Or you could try buying a cheap ebook or app, but the free one worked to "activate" the account.
2. Once the Play store definitely recognises your credit card on your account, ie if the test "purchase" went through OK, go to your Nexus 7 and do a factory reset - but be warned that this will wipe out all your existing data. (Settings, under Personal it's Backup & reset, then Factory data reset).
3. After the factory reset, enter your own Google Account details into the Nexus 7. That should do it, you should get the email about your credit.
Hope that helps.

How do they assign the account the $50 Play credit?

Is it the first account to log in on the device or the account used to order it from the Google Store? I accidentally ordered mine from my work account, and I have all of my apps tied to my personal account. Do I just make sure to log in with my personal account first?

On the Google Store page it says a promotional code will be emailed to you once the device ships. You should be able to apply that promo code to the Google account of your choice.
Typically, they send a redemption code to the email associated with the account. If they do this, as they have in the past, then you can actually use that code on any account.
That offer is valid for US only? What about Europe ?

Google Play credit cannot be used on the Google Store, so only apps/music/movies/etc, but no cases or other accessories. And some subscriptions are excluded as well.
If it works the same way the Nexus 7's did, it'll load to your Google account when you sign in to the Nexus 6P.
