Has anybody done a RMA with Asus yet? What's the process for exchanging?
I called them yesterday - they'll email you an RMA checklist to include in the box, but you have to provide your own box and shipping. The repair process takes a maximum of two weeks, not including shipping time. If the unit is found to be irreparable, they'll send you a replacement instead.
The first time you call, however, they'll ask you to back up your data and do a factory reset of your device, then call them back again. You'll be given a code so you can pick up where you left off, but it's still pretty annoying to waste a call on something that's clearly a hardware issue.

The replacement is most likely a refurb right? My problem is I have a small defect on my screen, not sure if it's a piece of lint or a dead pixel. I have a feeling they're not going to find it and send me the tablet back again.

For one dead pixel, or possible dust, I would try and ship the thing back to where you bought it. Not RMA with Asus.

If you ordered from Google play store them contact Google to arrange an RMA. They will send you a replacement unit before you need to send yours back to them. At least that is how it worked for me.

yea but the store i bought it from only refunds the item price minus the shipping. then i have to pay for shipping to send the tablet back to them. this sucks

So I must have good luck, as my RMA experience through Asus was nothing short of great!
Bought my Nexus7 from BestBuy in Ontario on August 8th...around the 15th the speaker blew so I called Google and they gave me the Asus RMA number. I called, they gave me an RMA number, told me to ship my Nexus back to them...which was actually only a few hundred km away from me...still in ontario On the 27th I finally got around to bringing my nexus in to canada post (also hoping to flush out all the crap stock in the channel)...It took two days to get my Nexus to them, at which point my RMA number stopped tracking in their online system; Aug 30th...on the 31st I got an email saying an 'EEPAD' was being shipped to me via UPS. After hearing all the horror stories about wrong devices being sent back I was worried about the super quick turn around perhaps being a wrong device. Monday the 3rd was a holiday, and Tuesday my package from UPS arrived, a brand new Nexus 7 same c70k series as I sent them, but with a working speaker...same minor screen lift I had before but it's not an issue as far as I can see
Just wanted to share a GOOD experience

I have the image retention and washed out screen problem and have given it to an authorized Asus service centre here. They say if it's a display issue and can't be fixed with a hard reset etc, they'll give me a new screen and it'll be done in 3 days.

so i called asus and the guy points the buck back to fedex , i have talked to a rep and a tech sup and a mgr at fed ex saying this is asus deal not fedex,

However Asus does not offer a direct shipping label. What we do is to send you the email for you to take to fed ex to get the label. I do understand your frustration, unfortunately this is the only option that we have available in terms of providing shipping.

Your serial number shows the notebook to be within Warranty. As it is covered for a 12 months period, starting from the date of purchased.

I'm about to have mine RMA'd because the camera no longer works. Even after a factory reset. I just don't know if it is still in warranty as I purchased it off a guy on Craigslist. I've owned it for about 5 months now and it just stopped working about a month ago.

dude i dont wanna sound an ass i really dont but your getting a free repair, yes a repair that should not have to happen a second time, but for free it is, and you dont even have to pay to send the tab in,.. your really gonna get mad that you need to go 45mins to drop off at the right fedex store? seriously dude you dont get that kinda service with more expensive products and about taking time off work.... wait until your day off? ask a co-worker for a favour? ive been working 50hrs a week as a chef for 5yrs straight, 6 days a week ......but if i gotta go somewhere the sous is taking charge for a few hours.

wow Neo, what a bunch of crap. big name company can't afford $10-$20 to cover shipping. i hope to heck nothing happens to my N7 or my Asus Laptop, I would not want to have to go through that ordeal.
Called up Asus and still under warranty until July 2013. Got and RMA and just sent out the package today. Didn't realize that it was going to the center in Grapevine TX...which is 30 minutes away from me...I wonder if I could have just walked in and dropped it off or see if they can fix it while I wait.

My order was placed on July 27th at 3:00am cdt. I ordered a 16gb and my shipping quote was ships by the 30th of July with the free ground shipping 3-5 days.

It was my understanding that the shipping mistakes of the N4, which i am to assume is what you're speaking of, was more due to the fact that LG was not producing enough product to meet up with Google's demands. Was it not?
Although, my order (32gb) has not shipped as of yet.

You should call customer support to verify your order. I ordered mine the same day as you did and shipped today.

Don't be so sure cause I got my tracking this morning and ups had it yesterday. Also it was 3-5 day free shipping and it got here in one day. So it was actually shipped on the 29th

Exactly the same here.
Here we go again with another Nexus 4 like debacle.
While production was an issue, at least in my case and bunch of others Google was creating labels way before the devices were even ready to ship.
I had issues with my Galaxy Nexus shipment as well.

Called them this morning and got an email back that said "According to our records, you have successfully completed your purchase." Not really sure what that means. Had them escalate the issue since I still don't have a tracking number and it still shows as "PENDING", but I guess that will take 24-48 hours . Also, I just noticed that the charge that was on my debit card has now disappeared.

That's cause the charge on your card was for a hold of the money not for the actual money being taken off. It's basically Google checking to see if you have the funds to purchase the tablet. Holds fall off after a certain amount of time determined by you cards issuer. Once shipped the money will be taken out fully.

Yeah, it just seems very odd to me that my "purchase" can be "completed" and yet I haven't paid for anything yet, unless what they really meant to say was that I had "successfully submitted an order." The person on the phone also tried to tell me that having ordered last Friday, an order wouldn't normally be shipped until the following Wednesday or Thursday, even though my order still clearly says "Ships by July 30, 2013."

Mine is out for delivery. Hopefully it will be waiting for me at home after work.
Still in limbo. Called like 5 times already.
They have try to give me all kinds of lame excuses and explanations.

I just got the email. Amazon might have just screwed us because now if we pre-order from elsewhere we'd be back of the line.

Amazon:If your shipping address is eligible for Release-Date Delivery, we'll automatically upgrade your order to this shipping option.
Release-Date Delivery only applies to orders shipped to addresses within the lower 48 United States. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations will be delivered after the release date. Release-Date Delivery also does not apply to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.
Me:Yes it is eligible. Do you mean that I can still get the item on Nov 5?<br />

I think that's what all of us are afraid of: Amazon not receiving stock day 1. FYI, Google Play store is still showing the Nexus 9 as shipping on the 3rd. The obvious (big) difference is shipping: $3.99 vs $18.99 for next day delivery.

I feel the same as @danlo. I think I will wait until I hear back fro Amazon CSR Christopher. I have been a prime member since it started and I order a lot through Amazon so hopefully that will cause them to get back to me on what is really going on and if there is a delay, how long. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Everyone email Amazon about this. Maybe one of us will get a proper response.

I'm in Georgia. HTC e-commerce store activities are handled by an intermediary called Digital River, Inc. (DRI) who (according to their site) also handle e-commerce stores in the US for Samsug, Lenovo, Logitech, Adobe, Microsoft among many other well-know consumer tech brands (did a very brief info search). So most likely DRI doesn't have physical presence in my state, for which I got tax exempted (unlike Amazon that now collects taxes here).
This is just a standard reply they send out for pre-orders. After a set number of days passes and an item has not shipped the system sends out an email. Same thing happened to me months ahead of my PS4 shipping. If you check your order status you will see it is still set to ship on Nov. 3rd.

Glad to see that you got that message. So if there are not going to be delays win Amazon, why the "#$%"# did they have to send that e-mail alerting that "as of now we don't have a delivery date"? What's the deal with that?
(I guess I have to say that this pushed me to change stores which allowed me to save the tax charge, so at least something good came out of this mess for me)

So friday I realized that this past weekend would have been a month since I got my Note 4, thus a month since I applied for the Samsung $200 rebate. I emailed Prize Logic:

Nice, you think perhaps they would email me when I was approved like they said they would. Then again, this is the same marketing company who royally screwed up a Note 3 promotion, so I had little faith to begin with. Anyway if you like me have not heard anything, try dropping them an email.
What email address did you email to? Did you submit your info online or mailed it in? I had to mail mine in as my pre-order receipt was like 5 pages long.

I submitted my information online on the 23rd and did receive email confirmation that they received it that day.
Actually, you are semi approved.
I got the email that the rebate was approved.
In small letters below that it added that it was subject to verification.
Dont you think they would do that before they approved the rebate?

Did you buy through Verizon? How did you get things rolling so quickly? I think I'm going to miss out on the rebate as just last week I got notice that my old phone had been received by Verizon (mail in trade in,) and I should hear from them in 4-6 weeks. How would it be possible to get the Samsung rebate when I didn't get the phone from Verizon til Oct 23, thought there would be a trade-in envelope there, but there was just a link to follow to submit my trade-in, which it then took a week to get the mailer, and another week and a half to get a response that it was received and I'd get a price/receipt in 4-6 weeks..

I am on Verizon. I bought a brand new $30 "smart phone" at Best Buy already knowing that Verizon viewed it's trade in value as $10. I walked into Verizon on the 23rd. I handed them the phone and they gave me a $10 gift card which shows came from a trade in, and I then purchased the Note 4 at full price minus the $10. That afternoon I took a picture of the paperwork, magically got their website working, and submitted the form and paperwork.
Has anyone received their check yet from Samsung???? (or Prize Logic )?
I also received the reply but have yet yo receive the check. I will update when I do. I was just worried it didn't get accepted.

More the reason I'm flag glad I could use Best Buy for instant rebate with no hassles.
It gets even better.
When I called prize logic, the phone goes straight to voicemail and part of the message includes a statement that if you are calling about the Samsung rebate then they will not return that call.
Apparently customer service is nothing that prize logic is concerned with.
They never responded to the facebook post or message I sent them.

Great News! If you have previously received notification that your rebate has been approved, your Samsung rebate check is being process and will be received via USPS by Friday January 23rd, 2015. It will be delivered to the address you used while registering for the rebate.
We sincerely apologize for the delay, and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Just as an FYI - You are not a customer of PrizeLogic, Samsung is their customer, and from what I have seen around its more likely Samsung has held back the rebates for a little extra intrest before releasing them, could be true, could be garbage, I am at 9 weeks today since I received my approval with a 6-8 week wait.

I ordered mine right on the dot. See below. Anyways, we'll see. I work Fri-Mon so if it comes later no big deal.

My tracking doesn’t show on Oneplus. If you have a fedex account you can see shipments as the label is created.

yeah i had the label in my Fedex manager yesterday too, from the many phones I bought from Oneplus, usually don`t ship until the next day after the order has been placed, mine wasn`t picked up either, but again oneplus website says not shipping until the 21st and delivery on the 23rd, I ordered the just phone the 8 pro Marine blue and mines shipping out New jersey to Michigan.
