I just got the email. Amazon might have just screwed us because now if we pre-order from elsewhere we'd be back of the line.

Release-Date Delivery only applies to orders shipped to addresses within the lower 48 United States. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations will be delivered after the release date. Release-Date Delivery also does not apply to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

I think that's what all of us are afraid of: Amazon not receiving stock day 1. FYI, Google Play store is still showing the Nexus 9 as shipping on the 3rd. The obvious (big) difference is shipping: $3.99 vs $18.99 for next day delivery.

I feel the same as @danlo. I think I will wait until I hear back fro Amazon CSR Christopher. I have been a prime member since it started and I order a lot through Amazon so hopefully that will cause them to get back to me on what is really going on and if there is a delay, how long. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Everyone email Amazon about this. Maybe one of us will get a proper response.

I'm in Georgia. HTC e-commerce store activities are handled by an intermediary called Digital River, Inc. (DRI) who (according to their site) also handle e-commerce stores in the US for Samsug, Lenovo, Logitech, Adobe, Microsoft among many other well-know consumer tech brands (did a very brief info search). So most likely DRI doesn't have physical presence in my state, for which I got tax exempted (unlike Amazon that now collects taxes here).

This is just a standard reply they send out for pre-orders. After a set number of days passes and an item has not shipped the system sends out an email. Same thing happened to me months ahead of my PS4 shipping. If you check your order status you will see it is still set to ship on Nov. 3rd.

Glad to see that you got that message. So if there are not going to be delays win Amazon, why the "#$%"# did they have to send that e-mail alerting that "as of now we don't have a delivery date"? What's the deal with that?
(I guess I have to say that this pushed me to change stores which allowed me to save the tax charge, so at least something good came out of this mess for me)

I heard rumor that AT&T is playing some stocking game where they are shipping to new customers first, then Premier, then contract renewals. I ordered on the 14th early and haven't gotten notice and it was a Premier order. They listed me as back-ordered and I just hope that is a "just in case" if they run out of stock shipping to those before me so I can't point fingers why I don't have mine by the 22nd.

I'm not a new customer, Ordered off-contract from premier site. I ordered mine on the 16th. Mine showed back-order at first then changed status yesterday. Login to att website then do their check phone order status. Don't use the link that came from the email to check status because it's not updated.
Mine says the Shipped date was the 17th for some reason but still says processing and has no tracking number
Just called the customer service number and the automated system gave me a tracking number... whew! I was sweatin' it. Stupid online status is good for nothing other than added stress.
Just got my FedEx tracking number. Premier customer, off contract and I ordered it on 2/14/11!

Incorrect on the dual core point.
Also try calling them that's how I got my tracking # over the automated system. The website didn't show anything.

Well... there IS a shipping option for UPS (which charges 20British Pounds more than Fedex, which is odd...) if you order from Handtec. It's reasonable they first had to send it to UPS since UPS is a US-only company. (whereas, Fedex is worldwide)
The email was sent from a support dept because... support staff usually deals with responding to questions? Perhaps the sender asked if the device would be available at the beginning of April? I'm just guessing all these since this thread had my hopes up
but it is april first and almost over.. not too many of you bit.. expected more of you to fall for it. given how hyper everyone is about getting the phone.

But i make a mistake. I order twice. So, I have to cancel one of them tomorrow. And that phone number will charge me. I hope i will receive coming Monday.
I bet Handtec sent this out to all people with preorders for any phone. Nice to know they have a sense of humor, but kinda disappointing that you most likely aren't going to get it.
Anyways, the website still says 'Due in soon, taking preorders' so I doubt that they really sent it.

[Q] Estimated delivery time?

I was reading through the threads and I saw people talking about their estimated time of delivery. I ordered the phone but where do you see the estimated time of delivery? I have the confirmation email saying I ordered the phone but it doesn't say the estimated time of delivery. What is the estimated time of delivery for you guys? Also, have any of you recieved a tracking number yet?
I've heard from people citing Google reps that it should arrive no later than Monday 11/19, likely sooner

Or just head to the Play Store, scroll to the bottom and click the link on the left for "My Orders & Settings" and it'll show a list of all of your purchases. In the status field for the pair of Nexus 4s that I ordered (8GB at 12:05 PM EST and 16GB at 5:33 PM EST) it shows "Shipping estimate: November 15, 2012" with a link to the Google Wallet receipt. From everything I've seen, most people have that same date with a few showing "Pre-ordered" and a few saying "Complete"... no one really knowing what either of those mean, exactly.
Purely speculating based on the Nexus 7 launch, I'd assume a chunk are shipped out Wednesday and the rest are shipped out Thursday. Then, depending on how close you are from the shipping facility, people will likely receive them Thursday, Friday or Monday. At least with the Nexus 7 launch it didn't seem like there was any rhyme or reason as to when people ordered and when their order shipped. Some that ordered late got their devices before those that ordered early.

Maybe you are referring to the estimated delivery date that you get off of the UPS website once you get a shipping confirmation and tracking number.

2 days processing, 2 days shipping. I didn't get my shipping notification until the day it was going to arrive so don't freak out if you don't get it the third day.
I ordered a 16GB on 23rd and still have not got any shipping mail. Today is the 3rd Business day and maybe I should get a shipping email in a day or two.

Ordered mine on the 24th, still not received my shipping notification
purchased a nexus 7 on the 21st, had a shipping notification on the 22nd, was in my hands on the 23rd...

It sounds like I got lucky. I ordered the 16gb version at 1 AM Friday the 23rd, got the tracking number later that morning, and it arrived on Monday.
I ordered mine on the 23rd and have not gotten my confirmation email. I called today to make sure everything was OK and they said my order was still processing.

I ordered on a Saturday, it shipped in the evening on the following Monday, and arrived Tuesday (the next day). I'd say this was quicker then average times though.

I ordered mine at 6:30pm on the 23rd and I still have yet to receive a tracking....I'm so jealous of you right now.
I just got off the phone with Google and they said that the problem is that the nexus 4 orders are backing up the he us 10 orders!! I was told my order has been approved and should ship within the next day or so. I originally ordered on the 23rd.

I ordered mine on 11/26 and the order posted to play as the 27th, I assume because it was 5:30pm on the 26th when it was "received" (according to the invoice) in CA and that's after business hours. I still haven't received a shipping notice.
I spoke to a Google Play Rep about it to make sure it processed correctly. I wanted to be sure there wasn't any trouble in the transaction since I recently had Identity theft issues.
He told me that it had charged my card successfully and was in processing and would most likely be Friday before it shipped and I would get it Monday at the earliest but probably later and that if I hadn't received it by Friday of next week to call them back.
So that "Delivered in 3-5 business days" Google play posts in the fine print is a not so reliable way of saying it'll be 3-5 before we mail it, Maybe.
I ordered my nexus 10 16gb on Thursday November 22, 2012 and have been getting the run around every time I call them or email them. Their customer service reps keep telling me it will send the shipping info email the same day I keep calling them. What a lie! Anyways after numerous calls and emails they finally sent me an email with some information of use. Hope this will help anyone wondering what is happening with their orders. This is what it says:

It sounds like they're just lieing to me because didn't people say that they ordered after my date and have received the device? This is completely ridiculous. Hopefully this gives anyone else insight on the status of google's customer service. I might reconsider buying a google device just because of this horrible service.

I placed my order from New York on Monday Morning 11/26/12 everything went through i even called to make sure and i have not even gotten a process completion email with a tracking number yet if i dont get anything by friday im calling them and demanding them to send it overnight at no extra charge....its all about the customer my friends! even though I am upset they dont sell the Nexus 10 in stores and have to go trough this whole process...I can say I am really excited to receive my new toy!!

the wait is very agrivating Im waiting for mine as well, and can you beleive they dont let you cancel your order...i ordered 2 by accident ( the other order got declined since i didnt have enough funds for both) but they cant cancel....i think this will be the last time i buy an item off the Google play store
Alright... so I feel a bit guilty about my initial bitterness towards Google Play.
I received my Shipping notification at 1:05 pm today. When I got the email and checked the tracking number, It was already in the Nashville hub and will be out for delivery tomorrow.
I wish all you guys still waiting the best of luck with your orders.

Wow this is totally unfair if you ordered it on the 26th and I ordered on the 22nd. Completely upset with Google now. I still have no delivery confirmation email. Congratulations on getting your nexus 10 btw.

You can pre order the g on Amazon now and it ships Dec. 4

But I am not sure which version it is.

Yeah, if you are a T-Mobile user here in the states, this won't do you any good unless you live closely to one of the refarmed 1900 3G areas.
Just got mine an hour ago from Amazon Germany (switching from the HTC Touch Pro2 with Energy ROM). :victory:
Amazon now has both the international and the US (supports T-mobile's 1700 MHz 3G) variants.
It is strange that Amazon is shipping Dec 4th, but Motorola isn't shipping the US variants until Dec 9th...

They had a mixup with the listing, and they had a lot of ppl asking them what versions they had.
Fortunately they modified their listing on time. Now it shows all the versions available separately. I believe they added the phone as one option and then they would ship them randomly. So that would've meant ppl getting the US variant when they actually wanted the Global one.
I will be waiting for the early buyers and see how everything fares.
I'll let post back when I get mine. I ordered a 16GB US version.
I find it annoying that Motorola does not let you cancel your order (outside of one hour of purchasing on their website) for a device that doesn't ship for a few weeks (I pre-ordered two when the link when live on their site). I would rather cancel that order and pick it up from Amazon personally.

I was unable to find a cancel option on their website, and spoke with a customer representative (before purchase) who told me cancellations must be done within one hour of purchase, even for preorders. There is a 14 day return window, but you must pay return shipping. If you are able to find a way to cancel let me know and I'll probably do the same.

I was told to call 866-289-6686 to cancel my order. I call them and it is the right number to cancel your order. I didn't cancel mine yet until my order from Amazon ships. let me know if it works for you. Wait time is about 15 minutes

I called the number provided and after talking with someone and being placed on hold for several minutes I was forwarded to the actual Ecommerce Department. I was on hold for about 20 minutes before speaking with someone within the Ecommerce Dept. They again placed me on hold for about 5 minutes. After checking the status of my order, I was told that it cannot be cancelled because it has already been sent to the warehouse for shipment?? They told me to "Reject the package" when it is delivered and when they receive it back I will be refunded...
I'll see how this goes and post my experience. It is unfortunate that Motorola does not have a better order cancellation system.

Yeah I did the same and they wouldn't let me cancel. Oh well, if I get the device by this week, then I guess the extra tax I spent on is worth it I suppose.

Suppose you are not home when it's delivered? The only way it could be rejected if a signature is required and I never signed for my other phone in the past. You would think they would make it easier, geeze,!

If you are not home when it is delivered, you can take it to the nearest FedEx store and tell them that you were not home when it was delivered and that you wish to refuse delivery. They will then return it to Motorola.
Also, you can leave a note on your door stating that you are refusing delivery of the package; just print you name and the date on the note.

Find it hard to believe it was already sent for shipment if it was the US version. When I talked to Motorola today, they still told me that my order was absolutely not shipping any sooner than the 9th. So I finally just canceled... I'll give Amazon a try. Worst case, I saved the money on tax and will have to wait a couple more days if Amazon has their shipping dates backwards as I think they might (though currently my order is still listed as shipping on the 4th). Worth it to go with the guaranteed customer service of Amazon in my opinion.

Amazon is now showing December 11th when the US version will be available and the 4th for the Global. they had the ship dates reversed. Glad I couldn't cancel my order from Motorola. LOL

If you have any plans to use this phone in the future with T-Mobile, it's highly recommended that you get the US version. It contains all of the wireless frequency bands required to get data on T-Mobile.
If you plan to use it only with AT&T in the US, and plan to use the same device when travelling abroad, then the Global version would work better for you as it is more compatible with carriers in other countries.
