Screen replacement?

hello everyone
im looking for opinions re. getting the replacement screen and digitizer
has anyone bought and installed a screen from ebay?
are those any good? has anyone experienced any problems with them?
any recomendations as far as those go
I've done it twice.... the replacement screen I bought on Ebay were fine the installation instructions were not for the 8525, but I picked my way through them and it worked fine. Becareful removing the screws and watch what you do and make sure your connections are good. I think I paid $60 for the screen and digitizer.....worth the money....
Screen Replacement
I replaced my screen and used Golden Electronics on e-bay. It worked fine after I figured out that I didn't have the screen securely attached. Once I fingered that out it was great. I got good feed back from golden electronics. I would recommend them.
thanks for the info guys
the reason for this post, i was woried about replacing the screen with the non OEM part, but since i need a display anyways $50.00 on ebay sounds pretty good.

Replace dead LCD screen!

Hey there,
Has anyone here replaced a dead LCD screen (not digitizer)? IF you have could you tell me the symptoms you were getting. I'm going to try to replace mine but I'd like to be sure that it's the screen causing the problem and not something else.
Thanks!
GG
also, could you let me know where you got your LCD from?
You can get them from ebay for about $100, that all i know of though.
Google lms283gf01 and see if you can find some
Actually, I picked one up on eBay for $28. Yes, that was a new LCD, not the digitizer. It even came with the tools to open the phone. There are good instructions around for a complete dis-assemble and it was relatively painless.
I broke the original LCD, so there was no question whether it "failed" or not.
Well I can't see any cracks or anything in the LCD. I think I'm just going to get a Diamond. Unfortunately, no NFSFAN...

Has Anyone Replaced the Screen?

So I had been having some issues with flickering and creeking on my screen and intended to call in for a warranty, but kept putting it off. Eventually a hairline crack formed on the screen and it basically has bricked my device, as the touch screen is not working.
Google wouldn't cover it under warranty because of the crack, and suggested I contact ASUS about getting it repaired.
As inexpensive as the tablet is, I am wondering if it is even worth it to pay ASUS to fix it. Anyone have any experience with this?
Has anyone actually tried replacing the screen with parts off eBay or something? Is that possible? Or is the glued down screen not an easy fix. Any advice would be helpful.
If all else fails, now I have an excuse to get the refreshed version when it comes out
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the screen replacement from Asus is around $150, which includes the labor. The LCD and digitizer comes and gets replaced as one whole piece. I've seen some non-OEM replacements for sale online, but I would only recommend you getting that if you are comfortable doing the repairs yourself. If you buy the digitizer by itself, prepare to spend some time prying the bad one apart from the LCD and vice versa.

At that price I might as well just buy a new one. Or hold off for the new version.
Normally I wouldn't be too comfortable fixing something like this myself, but since it is basically just a paper weight as it is I really don't have anything to lose. Best case scenario is it works and I learn a whole lot from doing it. Worst case scenario is I still have a non functioning tablet.
Besides, who can resist taking things apart?

Screen Replacement

Anybody here who got a touch digitizer replacement on this phone? I broke mine and I just want to know how much it costs you to fix it. Thanks!

Pixel 4 broken screen

Although I had a screen protector on my phone and a case, when I dropped my phone this morning it's still cracked my actual screen. Has anyone ever replaced one on their own and did they have trouble doing it?
I'm about to but I'll post here when I'm done. I found defective pixel 4 screens on AliExpress. Some of them just have a single dead pixel for about 20 bucks. I'm going to have to go that route. If anyone else knows where to get parts or glue or any tips that would be greatly appreciated.
