Although I had a screen protector on my phone and a case, when I dropped my phone this morning it's still cracked my actual screen. Has anyone ever replaced one on their own and did they have trouble doing it?
I'm about to but I'll post here when I'm done. I found defective pixel 4 screens on AliExpress. Some of them just have a single dead pixel for about 20 bucks. I'm going to have to go that route. If anyone else knows where to get parts or glue or any tips that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys,i dropped my phone and my screen stopped responding.it was a nasty hit on my HD so i contacted HTC here in Cyprus and they told me that is the screen and its gone!!!They do not cover drops and they are overpriced in changing my screen cause they say that the bezel has to be changed too!
Does anyone know where i can find a fully assembled screen with the bezel so i can do it my self??If not does anyone has any idea how the screen seperates from the bezel along with the digitiizer?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Does it have cracks? If not:
My suggestion, Go to another HTC centre and simply say screen is not working. Let them find the cause See what they quote. If it is a micro-crack or something not visible to naked eye they might simply replace it for benefit of doubt under warranty. I had a very trivial fall of my Nokia and I saw that LCD stopped working. No cracks nothing. I went to svc centre and they replaced it. When I asked why it happened they said sometimes LCDs do fail..
Some others may be upset with my suggestion though.. but worth trying. I think they should have given a better prot4ection or more easy replaceability of the glasstop/digitiser.

You can buy replacement screens on ebay.

Help!!!.
I got up this morning and dropped my phone resulting in the glass smashing. The touch screen still works and the glass is held in place by a screen protector. There is someone advertising on ebay to fit new screens for £48.99. IS this a good price??.
Also........ the vibration on my phone sounds as though it is loose inside so I was thinking that maybe a refurb is worthwhile at the same time.
Does anyone know where in the UK I could get this done at a sensible price?.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Scotty.

Greetings,
My S4 screen cracked a few weeks ago. I'm pretty handy at fixing just about anything, but this time I've failed. I was going to replace the screen tonight, however unlike the many videos, when I heated up my phone and started to lift up to remove the adhesive, the cracked screen shattered like safety/tinted glass. The glass was finally off, however I suppose I truly didn't heat it enough, as there was a lot of adhesive residue behind. I was slowly cleaning it up, and suppose I pressed too hard on the digitizer, that the bottom left corner has display issues now, with a very faint line running left to right around the problem area.
So, here I sit with a new glass, optically clear adhesive, uv lamp, and a broken S4 Just picked it up about 2 months ago, but lesson learned (buy a heat gun and a temp gun if i ever need to do this again).
I'm ready to move on with life and get a new phone. Since I'm mere months in to my contract, I'll be shopping for a new phone on my own online. Might get another S4, might get a Note 3.
I'll take any constructive advice folks have to offer. Is the phone worth anything to anyone as it sits? I see a bunch of broken phones on ebay selling for insane prices (150+) with broken digitizers. I suppose my phone, given it's only the digitizer (and now missing glass) that's broken and the actual electronics are working might be useful as a parts phone to fix someones water/short circuited phone? If I were to post the phone and all accessories on ebay, how would the sale work as far as the phone being linked to me or my tmobile account? I'd keep the SIM of course, and the IMEI is good since it's actually my phone, is the proper thing to do to simply sell it, let someone else stick in their SIM and move on with life, or are there risks I need to be concerned with when handing my phone off to someone else, might they cause me some annoyances some how if i dont safeguard myself?
Thoughts? Or, even thoughts about what to get next?
After looking at prices for new S4s or a Note 3, maybe the best bet is to replace the digitizer, it looks like a new digitizer and glass is $200. that might be the way to go
I would agree, if you are able to replace both parts it will work out much cheaper. Looking at it on the brighter side, once the digitizer is broken replacing it and the screen is much much easier.

Definitely just replace the whole screen. Also look if any of the official samsung repair shops near you have any discounts; I got my S3 screen replaced for around 80€ (been more careful with my S4).
Thanks folks. I have a new digitizer setup on the way ($200 shipped on ebay), will be black (front) on white (back) once installed! I feared for the worst at the point of breakage, now looking back a $200 repair doesn't seem that bad! Appreciate the responses!
U could try a store like the one I use it's in the UK but maybe of some help ?

Bought a new digitizer on ebay for $200 thursday morning and had it installed saturday. very simple process (thanks to some youtube videos showing how it's done)
well that s some good news congrats
Well it happened, I was pulling my tablet out of the case to change songs and it slipped out of my hand and landed screen down on asphalt.
Digitizer/LCD still works, but its cracked, anyone know where I can buy a replacement?
Also does anyone know if the LCD is fused to the digi like on the og nexus 7?
Have you managed to find a screen yet? I have had a look but can't find anything even on google.
I have a Moto X Pure with a screen that cracked today in my front pocket. I'm baffled and bummed, and of course despite being 5 months old Motorola is of no help. I was wondering if anyone here has successfully removed a wood/bamboo back plate to swap out the LCD. For older Moto X's people on ifixit saying forget it because it is not glued in, and it'll crack on removal. Just wondering if anyone has done it on this model, and if so how. Also, I am reading on here that LSHtech is the way to go for a replacement. Can anyone confirm or offer other suggestions for a screen/LCD assembly?
Thank you all for your time.

In sure you can replace it but get the LCD screen and frame assembly. When trying to open it up be extremely careful and you'll be fine
If it is 5 months old you should have Motorola do it elevate your request if need be the customer service kinda sucks but keep at it.

Did my screen yesterday. It wasn't wood, but that shouldn't prevent you from getting the back off without breaking it. Spend extra time with the heat gun. If you do manage to break it, you can score a new back for a whopping $10.
And for the love of god, be sure to get an LCD with the speaker grills installed already.
