Hi folks,
Does anyone know the email address or contact page to get some help from Google?
I want to see if I can exchange my Nexus 7 for the loose screen fault.
Don't fancy waiting on the phone for over an hour in queue again.
Cheers
In the nexus order in google wallet there should be a contact link.
Sent from my Transformer while the N7 is lost in the Play Store Black Hole.
16gb N7 UK ordered 3rd July.

Firstly hello. This is my first post on this forum.
I own an Acer A500 Icobia tablet running all stock programs.
The only thing that is doing my head in here is that I cannot work out how to search my exchange email folders.
In the Gmail app, there is a search icon which works flawlessly, but in my Exchange account, there is nothing there.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S which is using the Nexus S email app as the keyboard on the default Samsung app was broken.
effectively did not find any search function in it. i will do some checking around about it.
have a look at TouchDown TAB for Exchange, this one has a search function ... payable app but the trial for 30 days is free ...
Marcher
Thanks
I have tried maildroid but that only gave me mail back to the 23rd December.
K-9 wouldn't work at all (looks like no support for ex2010)
Will try Touchdown and see how that goes.
thanks again.
Ditto on Touchdown for Tablets ... I dont even have my Exchange acct set up in the email app any more. License was on sale in Amazon App Store, too
Nexus 7 "linked to Google account option" - safe to be resold without opening?
I got sick of waiting for my Play order N7 to be shipped so I bought one from Tesco Direct... but now the Play order is shipping. Ooops.
When I ordered I selected the option to have it pre-linked to my Google account. Can anyone who also selected this option tell me what the difference was when they first booted up the device?
I want to re-sell my Play N7 as "Brand new in box" but if it would be a security risk to give someone else a device pre-linked to my account then I would have to open it first to reset it.
Does it ask for your account password on first boot? If so, is it possible to ignore this and sign in as a different Google account (and not have any remnants of my Google account remaining after they do this)?
I did find a similar thread here but that was from before anyone had received their order and was just going on the word of CS reps; I wondered if anyone could confirm the situation now that orders have shipped...?
What's wrong with refusing delivery? Full refund so I've heard!

Nothing in theory but...
1) I'm having it sent to work as I live in a flat so it would be a pain to have it sent there during the day.
2) I'm on holiday after tomorrow (hence I was so desperate to get the device before I went away).
3) Our receptionists can be a bit dense so I don't entirely trust them with requests such as refusing delivery for a specific package, i.e. I'll tell them but I'll probably end up with the package when I get back anyway.
4) Now that they've sold out on Play, they are selling on eBay for more than I paid.
Because #3 might end up happening, I want to know whether I can execute #4 successfully
:good:

I got a 8GB PS Nexus 7 and sold it to a co-worker but opened it up first to check for defects and what not. If I recall correctly (was in a haze looking at the amazing device ) it does require you to put in your password and also gives the option for another Google account. I skipped it all and booted into the home screen then decided to just factory reset. But if you don't want to open it, I'm lmost 90% sure you should be ok Hope that helps :good:

I can tell you for a fact--I forgot that I selected that option and when it said "Hey, jcracken!" it kinda creeped me out. It actually did say that, I think I also use that name for my Google+ account or something. Anyways, it does ask for your password, and there was a button that said "Not jcracken?"
Ok thanks guys, I will attempt to get our reception to refuse delivery but if that doesn't work out at least I'm confident in my back up plan now! :good:

I ordered mine 1st July so just after the cut-off for receiving last week rather than this week.
I'm wondering if that was the cause of some delays in shipment. Does it come up before you even have a chance to connect WIFI? Means it was done at the factory.

It comes up after you've connected to WiFi.
I'm pretty certain that the Nexus in the box knows nothing about your login id, and it is only when you've connected to the internet that it transmits the serial number or MAC address of the device to Google which in turn allows Google to "pre-populate" the login ID since they presumably maintain a database of which serial/MAC they dispatched to Play store customers.
Regards,
Dave
For ultimate piece of mind change your Google password now that it has shipped, that way if (big if!) for some unknown reason it was shipped enabled with your account + password the account wouldn't be able to purchase anything
I received my Nexus 7 32GB 3G model on Friday and I have discovered something I cannot figure out.
I have an email account using Exchange ActiveSync (my company runs Exchange 2010). When I see a meeting invite in my inbox there is no button to accept or decline. When I view the meeting in my calendar I can mark it as ATTENDING Yes Maybe No.
Selecting Yes doesn't send a confirmation or remove the invitation from my inbox. There should be a way to accept or decline a meeting invite. I have that option on my HTX One X.
I'm running a stock 4.2 ROM JOP40C build. I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device using the Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit v1.55.
There is an option, (i've just tested to confirm my memory) although you might have to change tabs to see it. Under the to/from bar there should be 3 tabs: message, invite, attachment. Pick invite and select your answer. Fixed?

I just sent a test meeting invite from my home email to my work email. When I see the meeting invite in my work email I do see two tabs (message and invite). There was no attachment, so that is probably why I didn't see that tab. I missed that the first time I saw a meeting invite.
I was able to select invite and accept the meeting. I was not given the option if I wanted to send a response or if I wanted to add comments. The HTC mail app on my One X gives me those additional options.
So accepting the message worked OK. Then I went back to my home email and cancelled the meeting. When I received the cancellation message in my work email, there were no tabs to allow me to remove it from my calendar. I had to go to my calendar and delete the meeting and then go back to my inbox and delete the cancellation message.
I think Google needs to put a lot more work into their stock mail app. I can see why some of the OEMs replace it in their builds.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement mail app that works well with the Nexus 7 screen resolution?
Have you tried K9 mail or Kaiten mail?
Very good mail apps from what I've heard.

I just looked at both those apps in the Play store and they both say they support Exchange 2003/2007 using WebDAV. My company is running Exchange 2010 and I need to use ActiveSync, not WebDAV. Exchange 2013 has been out for a while now and these apps only support up to Exchange 2007.
So, I ordered my N4 bumper the order went through and I thought everything was ok. Yesterday I got an email from Google saying my order was cancelled because of multiple accounts. That's probably because I used a VPN to order because of I don't live in a GPlay region. I've heard Google changed the way the Play store works. So is there a workaround yet?
I have my work email synced to the Note 3. It's an exchange account. However, it does not sync properly. When I view an unread email on my computer, it is not marked unread on my phone, nor does the notification that came with the email go away. When I open the app, however, it all syncs up just fine and shows everything as read. Am I doing something wrong here? My notification tray just keeps piling up with email that I've already read on my computer. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problems with the stock app. It's 50% chance whether or not it syncs. I didn't have that problem with my Droid Bionic that I replaced.
Since I'm a Zimbra user, I just bought Horizon Mail from the Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmware.ewsc.android
It's awesome for Zimbra users because you can search back as far into your email as you need to (ie-an email from last year still on your server) Also, you can check a co-workers schedule before sending meeting invites. Lastly, you can access online files in your Zimbra Briefcase.
FYI - we host with zmailcloud.com but Zimbra is open source if needed

I know this is an old thread, but....
I am a T-Mobile customer trying to help a Verizon Wireless customer get his zMailCloud email working. Everyone in the office on T-Mobile has no issues, but the one VW phone only works when on WiFi. I suspect that Verizon is blocking the ports or the IP addresses of zMailCloud.com but I'll try Horizon Mail if you think it would help. I don't see it in my Play Store and that link you provided does not work for me. Is it because only Verizon customers can get it, or is it a defunct project?

I was disappointed that VMware sold Zimbra & discontinued support for Horizon Mail - it's now gone, but was the closest app to my Zimbra browser based experience.
I now use MailWise
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syntomo.email
I'm very pleased but it has a few bugs every now & then (it is a beta app) and it does not have direct access to my Zimbra Briefcase.
I have not found any problems that appear to be Verizon related - should work over 4G or wifi.
