LCD Display + Touch Screen Digitizer For HTC HD2 - HD2 General

Are there any big differences between the supposedly original ones and the ones sold by chinese traders as OEM on ebay?

Everything works fine, the touch is working perfectly everywhere on the screen. are there chances that this crack will grow further? i dont think repair parts are available right now ..what do you guys think?

looks like your digitizer is broken.
however in the link that Dharkaron had posted (http://www.cellulardr.com/products.php?cat=513), there is replacement screen for around $180, it should contain digitizer in it, but i would check before purchase.
if thats a digitizer only, it should not spread, but you are in risk of damaging your lcd display. (not really relevant if you cant get digitizer by itself though)
Sorry but it looks more like your protection sheet is broken try to take that of maybe it will help ;-)
screen protector u mean? no its not tht I checked tht already how can the protector break its not solid ...so digitizer for $180 that expensive I rather wait for some time and get a new one
well, its the whole screen for 180, but it does not say that it does come with digitizer, so it actually maybe wiyhout one, that is why i would check, digitizer for my old sony was around 100 and it was only digitizer, without lcd, so i would wait and see if you can find digitizer by itself (as long as it is actually separate part and not integrated somehow with lcd...) good luck on your hunt.
@WvaanWaas
screeen protector, as like piece of elastic transparent film broken that way? very unlikely my friend.

There is no way to tell how long it will work. Could work for a day, could work for a year. Chances of further cracks? There is always a chance a crack will get bigger as it's subjected to day to day use. Also, please don't bump your own post, especially after less than a day of waiting. We have lives and don't sit here just to answer people's questions.
This link is just the digitizer, like i said prices seem high to me.

Just saw this, might be all you need if the touchscreen still works on your phone.

ok i am confused..the broken screen of my g1 is it digitizer or the faceplate? my touch screen is perfect like before even on the cracked part it works like it used to do...i cant feel the crack probably because of the screen protector..if thts the faceplate then its gud

it is digitizer also known as touch screen, faceplate thats whats around (black frame) digitizer/touchscreen is not there, and that is what failed in yours. digitizer/touch screen.
this will not fix the problem: http://www.cellulardr.com/G1FaceplateBlk.htm
this will work: http://www.cellulardr.com/G1FaceplateDigitizerBlk.htm
I think I will continue to use it and wait for some time till I can find cheap digitizer

It's pretty clear according to the description on Cellulardr that the LCD and the Touch screen digitizer are separate products. The digitizer is about 190$.

The glass of the digitizer is broken my friend. Your screen protector should be intact. The LCD should most likely be intact but there no way of telling it 100% by looking at those pictures even though they were good. It doesn't look that bad but it will most likely get worse. Just use gently contact and do not press the screen. You may notice that the digitizer may not respond exactly like before but pretty good. Now there's a bigger risk your LCD will get broke as well if it is subject to heavy pressure.

No the faceplate is just the plastic frame around/above the digitizer. You need the digitizer. Unfortunately CellularDR doesn't sell the digitizer itself but instead they have package of the faceplate+digitizer. That part including many others are out of stock looking at their site.
r4yd3n -> I don't know where you live but if you live in the US or Canada you should be able to order repair parts however if I were you I would send it in. Remember, Cellulardr have strict rules of not shipping outside USA and Canada (Confirmed in email) except probably if you're an american/canadian working overseas.
well the touch screen is still working like before I am surprised ...no effect of broken digitizer on the touch screen
meh
I broke my screen christmas eve
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/members/dzknockout/albums/mine/1605-phone.jpg
(Still fully funtional)
I say leave it till its necessary to get a new one. And rather than buy replacement parts for an arm and a leg, you can send it back to t-mobile for like $110 (provided you have insurance. But honestly, a broken screen isn't that big a deal if it's fully funtional. And my screen is way more f*cked up than yours
ohh yea urz is way too much cracked then my screen ...ok so I will continue to use it and wait for something better.
Good News Google G1 Digitizer Only Now available
Good news guys I just noticed that www.cellulardr.com now sells the Tmobile Google G1 Window Lens with Digitizer only at a lower price: http://www.cellulardr.com/G1Digitizer.htm
They don't have a picture yet so just to be sure I called them and confirmed that this is the correct part. Basically this is the Window Lens Glass with the Touch Screen Digitizer and has the Flex Cable attached to it. It does not include the LCD but I understand that most people that have broken their phone, have only damaged this part.
Hope this helps you guys.
P.S. They told me that they have a limited quantity in stock so if you really need it, jump on it.

HTC Touch HD/Blackstone digitizer

Hi,
I'm new to this site, if I wrote something wrong, please have a mercy .
Ok, my thing is that I have HTC Blackstone and I broke its frontal cover (known as digitizer too ). I ordered this part prom ebay, and today I got it. Nice, new, tools included. But...then I started to dismember the phone, and at the end I discovered that its display is glued or something like that to frontal cover. The question is: How can I change this digitizer? Because with LCD everything is fine, I need to change just this digitizer.
Hope to hear some tips.
Thank you all in advance .
Checked the service manual in the wiki?
I tried, but only thing that I found was some kind of service manual for dismembering the phone up to LCD, but there isn't any info on how to change LCD (and I think that changing digitizer could be similar to changing LCD). I don't believe that HTC didn't include such an option to change LCD or digitizer, especially if digitizer can be bought separately.
Maybe this can help then.
http://vimeo.com/6892707
I've not watched it all the way through but hopefully it might help.
big thanks, but this guy in video is stuck in the same situation as me . I'll try to contact my local HTC service center, maybe they'll have some solution .
Sorry then don't know. Good luck.

I very much doubt they'll give you any info on taking the HD apart, they'll surely want you to send it in for repair!?
That said I would love to have a go at replacing the entire outer casing as mine is looking tatty now. Can you send me a link to the ebay seller that you got your parts from and maybe I'll have a go at it myself
EDIT: Perhaps it would be better to get a screen and ditigitzer as one unit? LCD & Digitizer
EDIT: Have you managed to get the screen and digitzer out of the front part of the case, I guess it's then easier to split the screen and digitizer. See this ebay item for pics, perhaps it makes a bit more sense when you look at it Full Housing Kit

[Q] hd2 digitizers/LCD

Hi ya maties,
iv picked up a hd2 that turns on but no touch screen nor the buttons on the bottom work,
so i took it apart and first off, noticed that there was sticky tape on the digitizer,
and realized someone has tried to fix this, what my question is, i have included a photo of the back of the LCD screen and the connecter to the digitizer,
am i right in thinking that who ever tried to fix this, irst, didnt know what they were doing, and secondly didnt buy the right LCD / digitizer combo, as i have found out that there are two diff digitizers and lcds? anyways any insight would be great, as this i think is a pretty straight fix,
Cheers
Oliver
I happen to be going thru an lcd/digitizer replacement myself. It looks like the previous owner did in fact get a mismatched lcd digitizer combo. The digitizer in that photo is the European weld on type, and will need to be soldered to a matching lcd. The lcd in that pic is the American version and needs only to make the ribbon connection.
Cheers
hey thanks for that, i thought i was going crazy when i couldnt find out what the clip on the back of the lcd was for, the idiot who tried fixing it used sticky tape to stick it to the back of the lcd in hopes of it working. lol, anyways the other thing is the membrain for the buttons at the bottom are broken, is there a web site that sells the membrian?
cheers
Oliver
Your best bet would be to look on eBay for a broken hd2 for parts
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
i actually have an lcd and digitizer screen that I may let go at a good price..not to mention 2 phones worth of misc parts/mother board, chassis, etc...
let me know
Do you guys know if you can swap in a AU Telstra HD2 (T9193) main board into a US TMO HD2 (T8585) digitizer and shell? My digitizer quit and I want to get up and running asap.
Anyone know?

htc hd2 screen broken

hi,
my hd2 is fallen on the floor and now is the screen broken, but the lcd is stille working.
i have read on some sites that the lcd screen and the digitizer are paste together and on some sites it's written that it's not.
does someone know if i can fix it if I only buy this digitizer?
or do i really have to replace the lcd screen too?
if so is it difficult to do this on my own?
I just got mine foxed both digitizer and LCD cause I had water damage to the LCD backlight ,,,digitizer worked the whole time however..Totoal parts and labor was 120 at my local fleamarket by a Korean dude...They are seperate price was so good I just got the thing replaced.
yeah you can only replace the digitizer if you want. the 2 screens are only stuck together in the edges....just did that myself now. have fun...

Edit about £50 plus the P&P
Never used then so its no recommendation

What appears to be broken is the digitizer(aka touchscreen, aka outer glass) itself!
If your lcd is OK, you may replace touchscreen only, but you'll need a pro or some very good skills, otherwise you'll need a combo(lcd+touchscreen)!
Cheers!
It's not worth the hassle of trying to line up the LCD with a new digitizer if you've never worked on a phone like this before, and chances are you'd tear the LCD ribbon cable when taking the phone apart to begin with. My advice is to by a pre-assembled LCD+digitizer set - or even better, find someone that has a broken HD2 (bricked or something) and just swap your motherboards. Getting the volume rocker in place correctly can be a pain in the ass too. I love the HD2 but I just about hate working on them because of the midframe (or "LCM" as they call it).

You also can Use inside the Euro-Version of the HD2 the cheaper US-LCDs & Touchscreens. The only Difference between the Euro und US Touchscreen/LCDs are the Silver ( looks nice ) "T-Mobile" ( Geman Company ) Print in that Aera unter the Ear-Piece.
I gave my Euro-HD2 an US-LCD/Touch Combo, too. But now i find out that the Touch & LCD is easy to Remove / Separate. You need only a Simple Guitat-Plec. I need only 30 Secounds to do that. The Problem to glue booth together. For that you need a special M3 Sticky-Tape. I use special Touchscreen 2mm 3M Tape and that works great...
Ohhh....and you need a very clean "Room" to put die Plain Touchscreens und LCDs together.
The easiest Way is indeed, to buy a complete Touch/LCD-Modul. First choice are the Version 2 Click On Combos ( Modell 60H00300 ) because that Touchscreens don´t ****ed up during the Time. The old 295 Combos ( with Soldering the Touch to the LCD ) are crappy Trash...
Here you´ll be find the Instuctions: http://mperlitsch.hintergrundbild.com/htc_hd2.htm
Best Regards,
Michael
