If your phone locks itself in the middle of the transfer, that'll do it.
Just keep moving the screen around while it's transferring.

After a while the Internet Explorer comes back with the msg: The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.
Goodlink stays operational, so it can't be the GPRS connection. Tried several ROMs and am now on faria v5.0/2.18.0.0WWE. Still with the same problems.
Usually it happens when connecting with the PC through ActiveSync (4.5).
However it has happened without connecting to the PC too.
Solution till now is: cold reset and reinstall applications. But am wondering:
* is this a common problem? (met another person with a Trinity running into the same problem)
* is there another workaround, i.e. registry setting which locks up?
Thanks,
Johan
problem ?solved?
identified the problem to be with the laptop, not quite sure why, but it has to do with the USB port in the laptop. Even after exchanging the harddisk and re-imaging the laptop the problem still occurs. When I hook my pda's up with other PCs/laptops (after cold booting - reinstall apps) to run sync, there is no problem and Mobile-IE keeps working normally.
Don't know why, but at least its reproducable.

This is very common. I'm sure everyone has gotten this message sometime or other. If the website has a broken or bad link, this will pop up, or if a link wasn't tapped properly on the touch screen. No fix...

THANKS for your reply.
It's a bit more complicated than that. After connecting to the laptop there is no url accessible what so ever. Of course the msg is seen on other occasions as you said when not tapping properly or broken links, but after connecting it to the laptop directly it will give this msg continously.
I hooked it up to the laptop through a docking station/port replicator and then the internet connection keeps running. With the current laptop I have I simply musn't hook it up to through direct USB connection.
I also get the same error, but only over GPRS when I'm receiving an email and thus ActiveSync is going.

If you're getting a good and steady internet connection, and still get this message, I'm assuming the problem lies in the laptop itself.

im having a little problem with my internet sharing. when i try to download files sometimes it wont start or it will stop in the middle of downloading. or when i view a clip it only loads for about 8 seconds. Has anyone had this problem? do anyone know how to solve this?
sounds like a connection issue.
Ensure you are in a good Mobile signal area and ensure your phone is close to your computer (if using bluetooth)
you could also try connecting the phone by USB to rule out a bluetooth issue. if this is still an issue this is likely to be a connectivity issue with your carrier.
try downloading the same file directly from your phone - this will rule out this being an issue with internet connection sharing.
cheers
steve
im with att and this just recently started happening. I use the internet sharing which came with the phone. is there another one i can download?
I have a quick question. My coworker and I both have a wing. He was trying to send a file to me over bluetooth. We went through the entire process but when it says sending nothing shows up on my screen and his just sits there saying sending. We are going through file explorer and we cannot figure out how to get it to transfer. Any ideas or better program to use?
Something should be showing, but other than that, make sure you both have OBEX turned on.
Ya that's weird that nothing is hapenning, make sure u can see each others wing once bluetooth is turned on

I have been using it and it's perfect. Thumbs up.
thanks i will try
if the file is bigger than 1G, can it be saved in my sd card?
out of curiousity .. if u start downloading files onto your phone - is this still covered under the data flatrate?
because even though they say data flatrate I think there actually is a limit isnt there?
wow torrents on mobile..gotta try
I have actually found that winmobile is practically the only one out there. and have been using it successfully for some time now.
It is not without some hiccups though.
1) some torrents will stop short of the 100% mark. but that is work-round-able. extract the partially finished file to your phone, and copy to your bittorrent client and let it finish it off. (ask if you need more info on this)
2) It chews up your battery power! make sure you have charger ready.
3) Dont use up your data allowance, only do it realistically via wifi. Also many Mobile companies will not be too happy seeing you use bittorrent. (supposedly they can tell due to the port you may be frequenting) but via wifi (home/work/starbucks/airport) it will be fine
3a) Make sure you have your phone settings set up so that wifi still works when screen is turned off.
4) Your phone is prone to crashes after using it for more than 30+ minutes (require soft reset via stylus-in-hole-near-battery).. BUT if you keep Wintorrent working in the back ground but you navigate to your today screen (or other) it is fine (taken me ages to work this one out)
5) If using it with your wifi at home, i haven't been able to find a setup that navigates port forwarding/NAT issues (sure there are ways though).
6) Max file download size is around the 1gb in size, above that you may have issues.
7) Obviously only do legal torrents, there is plenty out there.
well regarding the Port Forwarding..u can access your Router control panel and assign Torrent ports to the LAN IP of Xperia.
how can you set it so you can turn off screen, but it still working in background...?
no. 3a
press the start button
press Today
this will take you to your desktop/today screen

Hi,
I'm having this weird issue with internet connection on my Touch Pro. I'm using WM 6.5 build 24631 and 23134.
I'm able to connect to the Internet (3G) and is able to use it without any problem if I do not use it heavily, meaning light surfing. However if I use it heavily, like constant high speed download (either directly from the device or via Internet Sharing), then after a few minutes, the connection stops responding. When this happens, everything still works fine except the internet. I can't disable the data connection. Trying to do so will cause the application used to disable the data connection stops responding too. I can however enable Flight Mode, thus closing the data connection, but by doing so, I am not able to reconnect the data connection anymore. After a soft-reset, everything will go back to normal.
Does anybody out there ever experience this? If possible, a solution would be greatly appreciated.
Hmm ive been having some weird data connection trouble myself. im on a hd2 custom rom with 23134. sometimes the data connection taskbar icons show a working connection but none of my apps connect.
Maybe its related to the new builds

Yes, that is what I am experiencing. BTW I discovered that if I use Internet Sharing via bluetooth, the problem would not occur.
Interesting,i would check if this problem is still active in 6.5 builds (21915),unfortunately i dont have a data plan so i can test it.
I attached Internetsharing and Browsing family from 21915 if you wanna try it but the connection package could be also in Os folder.

Thanks for the files. I will try it out. Just now I just have to soft reset because I downloaded a big file using Opera 10. Only happens when the download speed is high. It's like it goes too fast for something to handle...
