[Q] CM7 White Rabbit edition --> defyparts missing/error - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm operating a Defy+ (DFP-231 :: BL7).
I've just installed CM7.2 [2012-04-08 Nightly] White Rabbit Plus (V1.5.2) and found that the option
"System settings > Device settings > Audio effects and DSP"
yields an error after being selected. It states:
"Sorry! The application Defy Settings (process com.cyanogenmod.defyparts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
What may be the problem?
Any suggestions on it?
Thank you in advance.

yeah you need DSP Manager for this. Sorry this is my fault I should have made DSP Manager default, will be in the new one.
lets put this DSP Manager into system/app and give it the same permission as the other files have, just click on another one and look at they permission

I haven't had the same problem but what I would do is clear market data (menu > settings > applications > manage applications > all > market > clear data / clear cache) and if that doesn't work I'd reflash gapps...
Of course I dunno if you wanna take my advice as I dont know the difference between clear data and clear cache BUT, what I can tell you is, if it's not working now what have you got to lose?
Don't think you should be flashing gapps on the liberated roms. Just clear data if that doesn't work the try reinstalling the rom after a data/cache wipe.

Good call, 1, I don't use nor have I ever used the liberated roms and 2, didn't think of that when i typed my reply LOL...thanks for the correction!
Reinstall the vending apk juss let it over write the one on there then reboot I had the same problem and it work for me.... Use something like rom manager or an explorer that lets you go to system>apps and find the vending apk its all I did n now it works perfect
POSTED FROM MY SUPER BOMB HTC ARIA!!!!!!!!
how do you reinstall that vending apk? cause the liberated rom doesn't have Rom manager. i only see Astro manager on the menu. please anyone show me how to reinstall the vending apk, thanks
i had almost the same issue, but i could browse the market, just couldnt download or look at my downloads.
the fix i did was, with Astro Manager, browse to the /system/app/vending.apk > then tap it and open App Manager, click uninstall, and it asked me to uninstall the updates. so i did so. it didnt remove market, just uninstalled whatever updated files, so i still had market.. then opened up market again and it worked fine.
btw im runnin the latest liberated aria as well.

[Q] disinstalling applications

Hi,
i just installed 30 Dec WITH SENSE: r2 HTC Vision MoDaCo Custom ROM with Online Kitchen on my G2, it said that there already were superuser permissions installed (infact i found the icon on the menu), but when i installed root manager to disinstall some apps that cannot be disinstalled from android default.
when i open root manager it says that superuser (process com.noshufou.android.su) has stopped unexpectedly and i have to forceclose, or sometimes it takes long time to open the app, but anyway i can't do anything.
I also tried to use rom manager and visionary to try to temproot but same thing.
In the end i tried to start in boot mode but i doesn't.
I don't know what to do.
Thanks

Need Help

Hi all having problems with my Fire , I did the root and all worked ok until the new update now I'm getting this error message after rebooting The message read's
Sorry , The application Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 (process android. process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. It then give's me the option of force closing which I select but the message just reappear's. Thank's for any help.
Uninstall your ICS Launcher.
How do I do that.
Thanks
My Kindle show's up in Device Manager, and I can open it in Explore is there some file I need to install or delete from there.
Thanks
It's an application you installed through Google Market. Uninstall it like you would any other app. At least that's what Google said when I Google'd your error.

[Q] Android Marketplace not working on Kindle Fire

Hi all, I recently rooted my Kindle Fire and installed Cyanogenmod 7. All was going well until I tried to install the android marketplace. I copied the apk to my kindle and installed it.
Initially, I was getting the error that I need to add an account - which I did - but now whenever I launch it I get the error:
Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Any ideas?

Install GoogleServicesFramework.apk to fix the problem (You will find it inside the gapps pack available in Cyanogenmod site).
I followed your instructions but it still comes up with the same error
Try clearing Market's data and cache in app settings. If you are still having FC issues then check this thread out for the fully expanded market
maybe this one helps:

you should start by giving us more details about your current setup
rom, kernel, launcher, launcher version
try going into Settings > Apps > All Apps > (Your Launcher here) and clearing app data.
If i'm not mistaken, stock launcher is Launcher2.apk
