[Q] Internal memory full after using Google Drive - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello. I have a U8000 with Aurora 4.0.
I tried to upload a file with 700MB to Google Drive when my smartphone crashed. I restarted it releasing the battery.
When it turned on, the internal memory for applications was almost full. I had to unnistal some applications to free space.
Probably the Google Drive uses the internal memory as cache before uploading the files. I already searched for some big file without luck.
Anyone can tell me the location of the Google Drive cache files?
Thanks in advance.

Idk where it may use but u can clear cache in programs. Or simply use app2sd (needs root).

Ty.
I forgot to say that i already cleared the normal app cache, and unnistalled Drive, but the free space still the same.
The file must be somewhere, but i dont find it.

Try something like:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5sZXZlbG9rbWVudC5zdG9yYWdlYW5hbHlzZXIiXQ..
If you don't have enough space to install it, uninstall some apps first...

/data/data partition full WTF

It appears that HTC made the app storage on this phone limited to ~150 megs and I see a lot of people deleting apps or clearing data from apps to fix. Does any custom partition utility exist for this phone? App so files are killing me. Thx for any pointers.

notenoughspace if you're feeling risky. learn it before you use it otherwise you'll be SOL if you didn't make a backup. useful to move data to emmc instead of sd. otherwise cleaners like one click or sd maid are for routine cleaning if you wish to be safe
Cool, thx for the tip!

Check out link2sd on the market. It allows you to move apps dalvik and libraries to a ext2/3/4 extension. It also has a setting to automaticly move new apps to the extension. I have about 55 apps installed and have about 113mb free.
Do these affect the standard apps2sd, or get wiped in a flash? When I ran into this,it was a game with "additional content " , which gave the option of storing on the sd instead.
I was wondering why I was having those low space notifications. I'll try these out.

Notenoughspace doesn't work (well) with GB but GB native app2SD moves the app lib folders which I don't remember previous versions doing this. Still I'm low space even though I have 580 megs free on internal storage. Wish there was a way to resize these partitions but I know this is very tricky. Just a pain to deal with space issues when I have so much free internal space that is unused.

To clarify notenoughspace works for cache/databases/files but doesn't work with lib data on GB since it recreates these on reboot so still a really nice utility.
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
I've been using NotEnoughSpace with the Business GingerSense 3.0 ROM with no problems. It's great for those apps that store lots of databases and files in the /data/data partition.
Yeah, moving cache to /cache seems to work with most but moving databases and files seems to break a lot of apps. Also, remember to backup apps if you use this since nandroid backups don't include the /cache partition.

I eliminated my low space issues by doing the following:
FACEBOOK: Clear cache / Deleted Data
FACEBOOK for HTC SENSE : clear cache / Deleted Data
ADOBE AIR : Uninstalled
ADOBE FLASH: Uninstalled the Updates
HTC MAIL: Clear cache / Deleted accounts / Deleted Data
This solved my problem... I installed K9 mail and allowed Flash to update and the issue has not returned.... yet!
Lego
Yeah, Adobe's a huge culprit. No app2sd and huge lib's. Also, AIR apps are sensitive to even moving cache. If you look you'll see AIR cert/sigs in data cache for these.

(Help) Insufficient Storage Error!

I have 500MB left and whenever I'm trying to update/install apps from the Play Story it gives me this error!
I tried clearing the dalvik-cache which is like 450MB but it force closes the whole system and apps!
After rebooting... the dalvik-cache is still there! I'm guessing that it's rewritten itself...
I think dalvik cache rewrites itself after it's wipe
That's Why it takes a long time to boot after dalvik wipe

Where do you have only 500mb left? Meaning /data/media or /cache (not /dalvik-cache).
Try going into Setting>Apps> Gallery, Playstore, video player, music player and wiping the Cache there. Gallery is a cache hog, so is Browser and Playstore.
Once you get that cleaned out, you should be able to download something from the market. I suggest Cache Cleaner NG. It is a cache cleaner that you can set to run everyday, week, month. I have mine set to run every morning before I wake up so my tablet is fresh and clean and ready to use.

I have 500MB left from 16GB (Internal Storage) and for some reason it's 300KB now!
I cleared all the cache from the recovery...

happened to me before. reflashed and it fixed. should have use root explorer to check which directory is used.
So now I have 400MB on the internal storage and I've cleared all the cache!
What should I do next?
The error is still there!
I can't even install apps to clean my system!

Clearing cache from recovery is not the same. Go into those apps and wipe them there.
Also, take look in /data/log and see if anything is in there. I just read about someone yesterday that had 11gb of useless entries in there. If there is anything in that file, just delete it (it isn't needed) and the set the permission to User-R and the rest blank and you would get those files anymore.
If all else fails, just delete something from your internal that you can replace later on from your PC (like some music or video) and that way you'll clear out some space to download a cleaner from the market.

Yeah... I checked all the apps and cache was deleted!
There's no "log" at all!
Also why would I need to delete something from my internal?
I deleted a lot from downloads...
Your internal and /data/media are the same thing. If you said that your internal is almost full and you are getting the error,....

I know!
But I deleted a lot of stuff! and now I have 400MB!
400MB should be enough to install an 800KB app!
Just trying to troubleshoot here man. Use a file explorer and look around to see if anything sticks out.
Might be time to do a factory reset and clean house (as a last resort) unless someone else has any ideas.
Good luck.
You need to have at least 512MB on your internal memory to be able to instal more programs. There is no fix for that.

This might be the answer...
I've deleted a lot of stuff and apps and now I have 1.2GB an I installed couple of apps successfully!
He is correct, 512 is the limit, you will also notice the system slows ALOT after this point, I like to use my MicroSD for alot of things for this reason.
Also glad I read the 'log' tip, I had a 600Mb log just sitting there. X.x
I get this insufficient space error when titanium backup runs a scheduled backup. I have 18gb free and when I manually do a backup it works like a charm. Odd behavior. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions; just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

I do use a 16GB microSD BUT the problem is that I have 10GB of apps/games! -_-
Try Apps2SD or a similar app.
I know for sure that the huge amounts of resource files used by games like Shadowgun and GTAIII can be stored on the MicroSD, freeing alot.

Probably /data is on the verge of running out of available inodes, do you have a lot of small files on it?

[SOLVED] What's wrong? 16GB Nexus 7 and just 900MB available storage?

Something is not right:
I have used up 2.99GB for apps + movies, just 3.5MB for pictures, 20KB anf 64MB for Downloads - and yet I only have just 900MB storage space remaining???
Where are the approx. 10 other GB I should have available as storage space... Any idead/suggestions, anyone ??

Did it show that you had 13.x GB free when you first got it? I've read of a few instances where the other people who had this problem had to do something like a factory reset before it properly allocated the free space.
Give it a factory reset/wipe, I was missing some 3GB out of nowhere that I could see.
Thanks, guys... I'll give that a try!

Dumb me...
Apparently, Clockworkmod backups do not show in the JB Settings>Storage view.
Found out about my "rather excessive backup habit" after downloading the excellent "DiskUsage" app from the Play Store... Deleted some of my backups and did a "Factory Reset" via Settings menu.
Et voilà, 10+ GB available again...
Thanks androidarmin,
I was having a hard time figuring out why I couldnt get rid of the 13GB of data that was on my tab.
I tried the factory reset and clearing cache and all that....but all of the old data was still on there.....games and apps.
I wanted to start fresh!
DiskUsage worked awesomely!

I too had this problem and tried factory reset but to no avail. I suspect the only way is to wipe everything from recovery (i.e. including internal storage)

[Q] Internal Sotrage Problems

Ive been fooling around with my phone, by that i mean rooting and such. But really recently ive noticed that my internal storage is almost completely full no matter if i factory reset my phone and wipe all caches. The sizes don't even add up, the biggest thing is clockwerk recovery at 2gb but somehow there is another 7gb of something that i can't see. Is there files hidden somewhere that are causing this huge usage of space?
HELP
Use ES file explorer, enable to show hidden files. That should answer your question.

Use clean master from the play store, it will detect what is not needed and ask if you want to delete it.

even that doesn't help there is still 80% of storage taken up by something, could my CWM backups somehow be ending up on my internal storage instead of my SD because it seems that way
Use es file explorer to move any important files from internal storage to external storage (like cwm backups or photos) then wipe internal storage. After that you should have about 9 GB free on your 16 GB s4.

The nandroid backups were what was causing the huge space problems, I moved them to my sdcard and deleted them off my internal sdcard and I now have all my space back.

clear cache and delvik cache - also look for an app that has a large ammount of data and clear its data (doing this will wipe any settings the app has though)
iv installed loads of apps and never run out of room using link2sd

use link2sd to order your apps by data size then you can see
you should have about 30mb free internel storage available at all times to be able to install new apps
right now I have 77 apps available to launch from my launcher and I have 48.8mb free but I could get that higher if I cleaned my cached images of twitter
Use "Quick reboot" in Link2sd
