When a call comes in that I don't want to answer and I slide the red slider to ignore, the call starts ringing again within 5 seconds. I have to ignore each call 2-3 times before it actually routes to voicemail.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Instead of ignoring just silence the call with the volume button

It might be a minor phone glitch, try a factory reset. backup your stuff first.
Yeah and i was wondering what the double tap to silence was about in the sounds and display settings.

I'm using GV as voicemail, and the phone only starts ringing after 5-10s (the caller already hears rings and sometimes even hangs up). Is there a fix for this?
You know there's a delay even when you call normally right?

Same, this is annoying, and my ringtones are now significantly shorter because of it.....
I have my Google voice ring my work Cell as well as my sprint phone, And for some reason my work phone rings a full ring before my Sprint phone rings. Wish there wasn't a lag or way to extend the rings.
Also does anyone know how to shut off that stupid press 1 to accept call.. i hate it, today I pressed 1 And then was told the caller hung up( cause phone rang to many times) And to press 2 to call back..

If I turn that off what happens to the people that call from private unknown or numbers not stored in my phone.
I want to hear who calls from private or unknown...

There is no call screening option. I'm having this problem too and have no way to turn this option off.

Are you sure? I'm looking at it right now, but to be honest I haven't integrated it with Sprint.
Google.com/voice>sign in>click on your phone number in the top right>click on the calls tab>the very first box is call screening>turn off.
If you turn this off, it will not announce the caller to you and make you press one. However, you won't know if this is someone calling your google voice #, or possibly your work cell # (as is my case).

GV and your desk phone are both land lines so the connection is instant. There is always a delay to cell lines regardless if you use GV. There is no way to get rid of the delay; this is completely normal.
To get rid of the press 1 to accept, go into GV -> Settings -> Calls and turn Call Screening to Off.
The funny thing is that I have a Droid X (Verizon) linked to my GV and it always rings before the Evo. I'm now thinking of switching to Verizon so I don't have such a long delay / lose calls.

LOL, dude, just tweak your EVO's MSL/EPST settings, thats all thats going on in the Droid X.
Set SCI to 2, ACCOLC to 2 & turn EVRC-B to enabled in Advanced.

Wow that worked awesome, thanks! I wonder why they don't set this by default.

The stock settings tell the phones radio to check with the tower every so many seconds. I don't remember what the default is so for sake of the explanation lets say 8 seconds. Your phone just checked the tower and nothing was coming in. Then someone begins calling you. Depending where in the countdown you are at your phone wont check with the tower for another 8 seconds or less. The person calling you will hear the phone ringing even though you have yet to receive an incoming call.
Changing the settings shortens the time between checking with the tower and thus reducing the time your phone will start ringing.

You can not do this with any AOSP or 2.3 sense roms.
Nandroid, then flash to a 2.1 / 2.2 rom, make the changes then nandroid back.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
My RAZR is making the tone I have set for my notification. I noticed it usually starts after I get off a call. Also I git a task manager and used it once I used it it stopped. Finally this just started up randomly. Hope someone could help thanks in advance.
Missed voicemail perhaps?

Thats what I thought at first but then i called myself with a different phone and didn't leave a voice mail and it still did it.
Did you ever figure out what this was? My wife's phone makes a noise randomly. Don't think it's the notification alert, but some type of sound.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
Mine did this because of Yahoo mail. Even though I turned off notifications, I did not turn off the sound. I would still get the notification sound, even though I didn't get a notification in my status bar.
Ok, thanks! I'll check that!

I've been hearing my phone make some strange noises the past week or so, and I think I just figured out what it is... apparently I was resting my phone on my wallet and it was picking up the smart chip in my credit card with NFC. No notifications, just the noise. I tested it by putting my card (the corner with the little wireless symbol) about the half inch under the camera, and sure enough... every time it made a noise.
I've only noticed it in the past week or two, around the same time as I did the most recent OTA update.
I've the S4 for a little over a week, but it's been a rather busy week so I haven't given it my full attention as yet. I really like it so far, I haven't gotten all the bells and whistles to work and I'm testing battery life with them disabled vs enabled etc. But I'm not really doing much else with it yet.
The only actual issue I'm having is receiving phone calls. When someone calls me, it takes a couple rings on their end before my phone starts ringing (I've encountered this with Sprint before though) but then when I try to answer the call, I don't get the person on the other end. I get a recorded message telling me I've got an incoming call from (name of caller in my contacts list) and if I want to accept to press 1 now. The message takes so long to get to that point that by the time it tells me to press 1 to accept the call, the call goes into voicemail.
I don't receive a lot of phone calls, but I would like to be able to actually answer them when I do. As of now when someone does call me I have to call them back.
This message plays AFTER I've 'accepted' the call on the screen and it plays through the handset not the speakers. I have Google voice set up for my voicemail.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you have google voice setup or you used to. You will have to go to the site on your pc to disable it.

I thought Google Voice had something to do with it but I didn't think of checking the settings via PC.
For anyone else with the same issue: Google.com/voice>settings>calls> call screening off.
Ok I rooted earlier today and have encountered a problem.
When im on a call it shows the call screen for about 30 or so seconds then goes back to the dialer keypad and takes away the phone call in the notification bar. Does Not disconnect or anything just no hang up button just the call button if that makes sense?
I dont know if Root Call Blocker could be the cause. I'm going to freeze the app then try again.
Yeah its the Root call blocker app!

Yeah i love the app. I emails the dev so hopefully he will have it fixed in a few days
An update that was supposed to fix our issue was released today but it fixed nothing for me, still losing radio signal and still can't return to a call in progress once I leave the call screen. Actually had to reboot to end a call.

There's another new update today and the app is still broken root call blocker used to be the best app ever but I think the developer is stumped on how to fix it.
