Please HELP! My Wing wont turn on!!!

Please Help me!
So I Flashed my Wing to a new rom (Open Touch v2.7), and it was working fine for a couple of hours, than it started acting up (Freezing up). so I pulled the battery and let it sit for a while, a little while after, I went to turn it on, and IT WOULDNT BOOT UP AT ALL (stays dead, off)!! After hours of trying to get it to respond, it finally got into bootloader mode and I flashed it back to the Shipped T-mobile Rom, it was working fine for a minute but when I turned it off and went to turn it back on IT WONT BOOT UP AGAIN, It just stays Dead! It doesnt even respond to charging (Unless I somehow get into bootloader mode after hours)
As of right now im continously trying to do a hard resset but it just stays dead and just trying to get it to start up at all, does anyone kno what the problem is Please?!
the battery?
or you got a lemon..... :'(
My Herald got the exact same problem after only 2 months of usage and back then it was still running WM5 stock ROM. I mailed the store I bought it from and got a replacement battery, that solved the problem.
battery
i put my battery into a diffirent Wing and it worked fine... do you still think changing the battery will help??

If that is the case, no I don´t think it will help you.
If I read your post right it won´t charge but the chargelight will light up if you get it into bootloader? (tinking about this passage)

Have you checked the batteryconnectors? They may be stuck and not quite touching the battery and when you try to hard reset the phone flexes a bit and suddenly you´ve got a connection. Also try and clean the small metal contact surfaces on the battery. As little as a fingerprint may result in a bad connection with the battery.
At least you flashed it back to stock-if it's still under warrenty and the tricks above don't work-send it in for replacement =)

G1 suddenly died after using Super D rom, totally black screen

OK I have G1 T-mo, it was on stock 1.6.
Yesterday I followed carefully the instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5214290#post5214290
the ultimate beginner guide:
I downgraded the G1
Then rooted it and used Amon Ra recovery
Installed the Cyanongen Mod
Flashed the Radio and SPL
Then I used the new Super D with the arabic support
All was great, except the market was not downloading anything.
Kept using it today, then when battery was getting drained I plugged it to the wall and was browsing the news... Suddenly I got the Boot screen, so i selected the ''press menu'' to shut down.
tried to reboot normally, got some lines on the screen, then a white screen then nothing at all
It doesn't boot, doesn't turn on the LED if i plug it in the wall... tried all the back and end, camera and end etc nothing working
is it totally dead? what can be the reason?
it was working perfectly well and really fast since yesterday with all the EXT3 and sawp etc!!
any ideas?
thanks
As long as you can boot into the recovery menu then your G1 is not dead. The ROM probably just went bad somewhere.
I recommend you to use Cyanogen until Super D gets sorted out. I was on the latest Super D and that was soooo slow and laggy that I just wiped and went to Cyanogen.
I can't log to recovery screen! it stays black screen no matter what i press!
Your phone's dead. There's nothing anyone can do for you. Send it in for warranty, or buy a new phone.
ok even if it is dead, can some one please help me to understand what/what happened?
I mean all the installation and flashing etc went well and the mobile was perfect for 24 hrs!

Did u overclock it?
one thing you can try is switching battery, if you have a spare or a friend that has a g1 use their battery real quick.. i had a similiar problem.. phone would stay black but an off-black color like it was trying to light up, charging indicator wouldnt light up either while it was plugged.. nothing booted, got another battery and it worked.. now i have a 2800mAH =)
Hi,
No I didn't overclock it.
My G1 stays totally black, no back light, no feedback when i try to start it either! I will try to look for a battery
Keep it official
You should of just used the official release of Super D from bbuchacher.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613809
It would have saved you alot of headaches right now.
Since I first flashed the Super D Rom I knew I wasn't going to change it for anything else for the life of my G1.
Hopefully someone can help you with your issue, like someone else said maybe its your battery.
Sounds like a hardware issue of some sort. Original battery?
Thanks I do wish it works, if it does I will move to the original Super D, it was very fast (with the Arabic text and applications)!
Yes it is the original battery, I will try and find one to test it with.
I wish it will be the battery and bad luck that it died after the new Rom

Screen turning itself off when I slide it in

Hey guys, I jsu bought a used G1, since I needed a phone because I've started developing apps for android. Anyhow, since I don't have much money I had to buy a used one.
So this one has a (quite big) problem - when the screen is on the keyboard (normal position) the screen turns off. You can see the backlight, but nothing else. When the screen is slid out, it works perfectly fine.
Any idea what the problem may be?
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
It can be a problem with the ROM also can be a hardware problem.. Try another ROM first and report back.
I tried more than 3 roms, still does the same.
I also filmed how it turns itself off:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5608529/vidya/g1.avi
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but have you tried wiping?
Yup, more than once.
At this point, if it was my phone, I'd consider breaking out a screwdriver set and try to see if something came loose or is worn.
Well now it's not working at all.
Not even when the screen is slid out.
And I don't have the required screws to open it... Guess I'll have to buy them somewhere :/
EDIT:
This is weird.. I somehow managed to turn it on, but now it's stuck on a black screen with "Build: " at the bottom of it...
EDIT2:
And now when I rebooted it, only the backlight turns on...
EDIT3:
When I turn it on regularly, the T-Mobile G1 screen appears and then disappears. You can still see the backlight, but nothing else happens.
When I turn it on to recovery mode, the G1 screen appears, then disppaears and then you can see a black screen with "Build: " at the bottom.
EDIT4:
Apparently, when I start it regularly, it does boot into Android, but it's like stuck.. Seems like it's kinda bricked? No idea.
EDIT5:
Is it possible to reinstall the ROM without having access to the recovery menu?

Getting a set of screwdrivers/torx/etc is a good idea. I picked mine up on eBay awhile back. An investment every techy guy should make.
It also sounds like you may want to get acquainted with adb and particularly fastboot. You *should* be able to use fastboot to get a working recovery and then use the recovery to get a rom loaded. This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719 seems like a decent guide to get you going with what you need if it is in fact a software issue.
Since your experience keeps deteriorating, I'm beginning to wonder if a chip inside is going bad - especially with the odd things like "Build: " showing up. (Let's hope this is not the case!) Nevertheless, I think I'd start with fastboot and go from there. Good luck.
Thanks a lot, ill try it as soon as I get home.
Sent from my FROYO X using XDA App
EDIT1:
What the hell? All I did was delete the recovery (didn't even install a new one, kept on saying it's missing the file, even though I did move it using adb push) and now suddenly Android works normally.
EDIT2:
Well now it's stuck again, just like before deleting the recovery...
I'll try to reflash the recovery and then see what happens.

GT-i9505 Blank Screen Problem

Hi guys. My almost brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 has just stopped working.
I was doing homework and one of my friends text me I look at the text and lock my phone screen and that was the last time I saw my screen working properly.
I later tried to turn on the screen but I had no luck, the screen wouldn't show anything, it was just blank but surprisingly it recognised my touch and made the sound. I could unlock my phone and even turn on apps by guessing where I kept them. I could turn on music and it would work but the screen would remain completely blank.
My phone was rooted and it had the stock rom but it had a custom kernel which enabled over clocking to 2.3 ghz (Ktweakers kernel I think) but the limit was set to 1.89 so I don't that that was the cause.
When I restart my phone the screen where it says "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505", I think its called the splash screen? I'm not sure, anyways instead of it being black with white writing, its really weird and is bright white with very light white writing. This is the only time the screen actually works, and the other time it works is when you try to put it into download mode but both times the screen is bright white and everything is very light and faded. After the "GT-I9505" screen goes away the screen goes black the blue LED still flashes and you can hear the samsung boot sound and the phone boots up properly without the screen.
What could be the cause of all this? I have literally kept this phone on top of my head. I have done nothing to harm it in any way what so ever. I have never dropped it. From day one I had a thick case incase I bumped it and damaged it. Anyone else having this problem? Or am I the only one? Do you guys think I'll be able to fix this or will I have to take it back to the store?
Thank you!

Thank you for replying! I had cwm recovery installed but I reverted back to stock mod through odin. Now I am trying to wipe cache through stock recovery but the problem is that I can't see anything that I am doing. I am relying on pictures of the stock recovery. I know that my phone goes into recovery mode but it does not show anything on the screen. I am assuming I get stuck on the part where there are lots of no's and one yes.
Would It be possible if you could post a picture of that (The screen with all the no's and the one yes) because maybe then I can wipe the cache.
And I am already downloading the stock firmware, but it is taking forever because if the extremely slow internet. But the thing is that I don't see any logos, it boots fine but it doesn't show anything on the display. But I also know that the display is working because it still shows the "GT-I9505" screen. I'll post my progress here.

Okay so I downloaded the stock rom and flashed it with odin and it basically did nothing. Rather before flashing the stock rom, the splash screen would show (the screen that says "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505") but now it does not show anything. It turns on normally like it should, it makes the boot sound but does not show anything on the screen. If you have the lights turned off, you can see a flicker when it turns on and thats the only time the screen actually lights up. What do you think I should do? I still think it might be a software issue. Also I don't think I have warranty because I have flashed my phone a few times. Its still very upsetting that this has happened because honestly I haven't done anything to this phone.

I don't think it does. Because before flashing stock rom, the splash screen would show and it had no cracks. So no actual damage, I still think it is a software issue but I don't know how to fix it :/ I still can't decide if I should take it to Samsung (which will take like a few months) or I can take it to a local repair shop and they can look at it which shouldn't take more than a week.

Repairing it doesn't take very long, taking it to the repair centre will take time. I bought my phone from Singapore and I have to take it there if I want to get it repaired. I took it to the Samsung repair centre in Bangladesh, they said they can't repair my model because they don't support it here :/

The same exact thing happened to me yesterday. Opened a text from a friend, tried turning on the screen and black screen. Thinking of sending it to samsung but do you have a solution yet? Was the problem diagnosed?
My Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 screen is dead--
I woke up this morning and my phone is still charging... But I cannot see my any data in the screen.. But my phone is still working.. I can receive phone call with my headset.. I cannot see anything in my screen.. It gone black.. Can anybody help me to fix this.. Or is this a firmware issue.. My phone has been rooted and installed official android 4.3 jellybean. Please help!!!
Just today I spend the same, except that the screen starts flashing, and at times the picture and the picture looked twice was very unstable, it restarts, and for the image of the i9505 without problem.
He ruled out a physical problem as it starts each. Device failure begins after displaying the Device Model
.
The touch and other features of the device, work perfectly. Try booting in recovery mode and I could not look very bad image.
In trying to backup my data with titanium to try to do a factory reset, began to regain normalcy. And right there my device works perfectly.
Bring 7 hours working normally my device. But I have fear of failing again. And now looking for information about possible solution. No warranty now.
What do you recommend? It's failure is becoming common. My device is doomed to die without remedy? Thank you very much for your answers in advance. Use translator apologies. Speak Spanish

Hello Guys, this issues is very common when you rooted the device and install Wanam Xposed.
You can try flash a stock Rom and stock Kernel with odin, try to swipe cache and dalvin using ADB.
Good Luck!

[Q] S4 won´t turn on

Hello
My S4 was working fine suddenly reboots and in was stock in the samsung logo and very hot on the screen and below the camera , so I took the battery off waited for 20 min and took the battery on and tried to turn it on but nothing happens non samsung logo no nothing. So I charged like for 3 hours below the camera was hot again but it didn`t turn on. I tried changing the battery my wife´s S4, turned it on and same thing nothing happens no even the logo.... after a while I tried to turn it on again but it was warm below the camera and again it didn´t turn on. Suddenly after an hour the samsung logo appear and turned on but it was getting hot really fast after a minute or two. I turned it off waited until it cool down a bit and tried to turned it on again ..... but again nothing happens not even the samsung logo.
I guess I have a hardware issue I have had the phone for two years, of course I have dropped it before a bit of water on the screen ... not recently but in 2 years it had gone through a lot.
So I have two questions.
1. What might be my hardware problem and how to test it.
2. Is there any way to backup the information that is not in sd card.
Also the things a have tried so far.
1. change battery with other that work fine.
2. tried the battery of my phone on another phone ... it worked fine
3. took the battery off and hold the power button for a minute.
4. A lot of prayers.
Also the phone was rooted like a year ago.
thanks in advance
Looks like a hardware problem but try to reflash the stock ROM for see if that works :highfive:
