[Q] Going back to 6.5 or Andriod - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I have wp7 running (kind of) on my HD2 but have decided that it not really working out for me. I would like to either put this phone back to 6.5 or load android on to it. If I put android on it do I have to go back to 6.5 1st or can I do it with the stuff I already put on it to get WP7 working? Any Ideas? Thanks.

simply sync all media content (music, video, pictures) via Zune to PC

I'm sorry but how does that put 6.5 or android on my HD2?

simply flash WM6.5
or use task29 (look in my tutorial for task29)
for android, look install instructions for NAND ROM which you choose..

Thanks. Can you send me a link to your tutorial for task29.

you don't need to go back to wm6.5. just task29 or use the hd2nand toolkit per regular android nand installation procedures to clear the nand before flashing android.
there is never a need to go back to wm6.5.

do you want it on NAND or SD? try the link below, it might help.

he told... he make dualboot, then android is on sdcard
here all boot options:
- manually: go to MAGLDR menu and choose 2. Boot AD SD
- autoboot to MAGLDR menu: 10. Services, 1. BootSettings, 2. AlwaysMenu and with power button confirm
- cancel autoboot to MAGLDR menu:,10. Services, 1. BootSettings, 2. AlwaysMenu and with power button confirm
- only Android boot: 10. Services, 1. BootSettings,1. Boot source, 1. Android from SD
- go back to WP7 boot: 10. Services, 1. BootSettings, 1. Boot source, 3. WPH from NAND

[Q] Trying to go back to Android from WP7 problem

Today, I updated to a new version of Android on my HD2 because I was having problems in the past versions with data connection not working most of the time.
I decided to install WP7 on it in hopes that it would work better and my data connection was perfect. However, I was having problems getting activation to work. I want to go back to Android, but the problem is...
Whenever I turn my phone on it goes into the MAGLDR and runs WP7.
I have Android on an SD card, but I don't know how to get to run Android.
I can get the red/green/blue screen by holding down the volume down button, but I'm not sure if that would help the problem.
I appreciate any help from you guys so much. I hope I haven't messed my phone up.
Did u try holding the power key while magldr is loading? If u want to flash another Android rom then go to option 4 then press the green key (use volume keys to choose option)..else choose Android sd option to boot directly from sd card..(don't think u can do that wid da same sd.)
Ok, so If I have Android on another SD card, I can use that and boot it. I have Android on the current SD card and when I go to that option it says something like "sd kernal failed."
You have to use modified roofs image to boot from SD card search under Android SD development.
Sent from my HD2 T8585 using XDA App
What exactly is a modified roofs image?
Would anyone be able to help me in a step by step process? I'd appreciate it greatly!
I'm kinda stuck with a phone with WP7 on it and all I can really use it for is calls/text/internet browsing. I would really like to go back to Android and use those apps.

Hey,
I wrote a little tutorial to get MDJ 4.6 HD to boot from sd via magldr. The edited rootfs.img is attached there too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10702019&postcount=93
Or go to the first page of the same thread, there are more sd builds that people got to boot with magldr (but most of them do not have the edited rootfs.img file attached)

Thanks so much

[Q] How to change from W7 to Android

Hi everyon
I own a HTC HD2 which I upgraded to W7, and its pretty awesome, but the fact that I can't activate the App Market and not recieve mms with my carrier its kinda bad to me. So I want to switch to Android, but I have a few question first.
I would be able to use the app market? What are the features that I won't be able to use?
Do I need to go back to the original software and then to Android?
Thankss!

you can simply move to android as following :
- download the HD2 NAND Toolkit from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
then :
1- task 29
2 - install magldr
3 - choose usb flash from magldr and install CWM recovery from the repartitioning option in the program
4 - open recovery from magldr from ad recvery choice
5 - copy ur android rom to ur memory card
6 - choose install zip from sd card from recovery and choose ur rom
you actually have to take out the sd card out insert it into a reader and do a fat32 format in order to remove ALL wp7 files...you just cant wipe ad install android will not work after that you cant do as mido stated in the previous post with the wipe mangldr and all that

With SD Android, there is no way to boot straight into Android. For that you need NAND. You can, however get pretty close by using an automatic build loader (search in the forums for exceller bootloader/build loader or something like that) which will automate the process of running CLRCAD/HaReT and allow you to choose whether to boot Android or WinMo. You can set it to load Android after 3 seconds having booted into WinMo.
However, I would recommend using NAND Android if you are willing to do some research and have some free time.
thanks a lot and sorry for the late thanks
I am a newbie to HTC world but not to android as I have good experince in SGS I and II
I will install a nand version on the HD2 very soon and update you since we don't want to use windows anymore
ive got a android sd build on my phone and it boots straight into my android rom . i havent used winmo to boot into android for a long time now and i dont have nand,
when i turn my phone on it goes into mag and u get the go go go , and then boots into android , dont even see the winmo rom .

[Q] How to Upgrade HD2 to android 2.3(Gingerbread)

Dear all,
I've just bought a HD2 from my friend. This phone is using windows mobile..i'm a newbie here and need your help to transform my device from windows mobile to android 2.3(Gingerbread). Kindly please let me know step by step process so that i can follow it thoroughly. I'm from Malaysia and cannot download from multiupload.. please upload using rapidshare or mediafire if there is any file i need to download.. Thank You Very Much..
If you don't have Hard SPL installed and the right Radio ROM, then you won't be able to flash stuff. You need HSPL2.08 to run Android / WP7 / MAGLDR:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
The next thing you need is a Radio ROM that supports 512 MB RAM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
READ THOSE THRADS CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS!
The first thing you have to do is go to this thread and download the HD2 Nand Toolkit from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
1. Then you'll need to turn off your HD2 and while pressing the volume donw key you need to press the power button in order to get to a three color screen (the bootloader).
2. Connect your HD2 to your PC and wait until you see USB at the end of your screen.
3. Start the Toolkit and press Task29. This will erase Windows Mobile.
4. Again go into bootloader (three color screen) and press install Magldr from Toolkit.
5. After that installation you need to hold down the power button while your HD2 is booting and you'll have the Magldr menu.
6. Choose point 4 "USB Flasher" and connect your phone to your PC.
7. Choose the right partition size for your NAND ROM on the left hand side from the Toolkit and your partition size (infos are available at the ROM thread of your choise).
8. By using a card reader or point 4 of Magldr menu ("USB storage") copy your ROM update .zip file to the root of your formated fat32 SD card.
9. Press update and let it work. Wait until your HD2 booted up again, chose menue point 8 "Ad Recovery" and this'll take you to Clockworkmod.
10. Choose "install update .zip" from that and then "choose zip"
11. Go to your rom file and let it work. After that you should be able to use Androind on NAND.
The post above mine is a very good post. But to be honest all you really need to do is to download the HD2 NAND Toolkit, the .zip file for the ROM of your choice, a radio version that is 2.08.50.?? or higher (this is only if you have EU HD2, T-Mobile HD2's don't need different radio), the Windows Mobile drivers that come with the Active Sync or Windows Mobile Device Center software from Microsoft, and if you want to use clk instead of MAGLDR you will need the Google Android drivers. For way more details on all of this click on the guide linked in my signature.
Also the you can use the HD2 NAND Toolkit to flash anything you need to use Android on your HD2.
hi..newbee here..
I make the change of my windws phone to android last year and it works fine but it lose the "look"of the htc like the clasic home page clock widget and weather feature, like sence, is there a fix for this or i will need another android program??
thnx!
Hopefully I understod you correctly
So you want "stock" HTC Android home screen? On which version are you? Sense version I mean? It's quite simple. On yyour home screen you'll only have to chose "+" in the left bottom. From there you're able to choose HTC widgets like the "stock" clock. Simply press on add a wigdet and choose your HTC clock.

Sounds like you are probably using a CM ROM, a ROM based off CM, or a ASOP ROM. These ROMs do not have HTC Sense. If you want the the same feel of the HTC Sense that was on the Windows Mobile ROMs then you will have to pick out a ROM that has HTC Sense in it, or what is referred to as Sense.

[Q] Change WP 7.8 to Android 4.2 on HD2

I have HTC HD2. I am non-technical but have succeeded in installing WP 7.8.
Can't handle this but am very comfortable with Android. Should have done this in the first place!
How can I remove WP and install Android 4.2 in a manner that takes advantage of the various preliminary procedures I carried out to install WP.
Many thanks for a solution. Step by step would be brilliant.
simple:
use NAND Toolkit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
dont forget format SDcard... use https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/SDFormatter4exe.zip
in option select Format size adjustment to ON and format SDcard....
notice: if you used Yuki ROM (BTTF) Sdcard is locked and must unlock first before format... other WP7 ROM's not lock cards
use Task29 to erase NAND on HD2
install magldr
select system size partition (in every ROM description is mentioned recommended partition size)
put ROM on SDcard (in zip file)
boot to magldr
select adrecovery
if needed make ext partition on Sdcard
flash ROM...

4. Install MAGLDR 1.13
5. Install ClockworkMod Recovery (make sure you use the right partition size, check the page of the ROM you're gonna use)
6. Install the ROM of your choice!
If you want more detailed instructions, take a look here: CLICK, and start with Phase 2 (I take, since your used WP, that HSPL 2.08 is installed). Good luck!
