Guys, is it normal to hear some kind of a click when pressing down the screen? I did not notice it on three weeks since I' ve bough it but now I can hear this click on the left side of the screen, near the center of it. I am asking cause I have a Tab 7.0, the old one, and I checked it and it also have this click? But it is very annoying, as if the screen is not well fixed...
I have it on mine as well but mine is on the bottom two corners where the speakers are, noticed it a few weeks after getting tab, annoying but so far not affecting tab.

Hey there, ive had my arc for about 2-3 days now, love it so far everything works perfect but today i noticed that my menu button has a creak to it sometimes when i press it a certain way ( say a little bit off the centre of the button)
..is this normal?..does anybody else have a similar problem with the same if not a diff button?..
I don't have the creaky button but i do have the battery cover creak. Maybe it's because it's brand new when the button will be more used they'll stop creak...

i hope so, since i just noticed it today a couple hours ago.. very annoying.
not 100% sure, but mine does creak when I press it off centre.. however I think the noise is the sound of my thumb 'sliding' along the button?

Mine did the same, but it stopped a week ago and haven't done it since.

I've been dealing with a phantom touch issue with my shift. Pefectly centered in on the botto of the screen where it hits the phone button in sense. Its looking like a hardware issue.
My question is, has anybody else experienced this and has anybody dealt with taking a rooted phone back to sprint for service?
Thoughts?

I had a weird issue where an area (the left side of the screen 2mm strip) on the touchscreen didn't work at all. I used the one zip RUU back to stock and brought it in and they gave me a new slider (whole top portion). Just happened 2 weeks ago.
I have bad problems with that and screen protectors, especially when it's really hot and humid (like everyday here in tampa)

At first I thought it was the screen protector, but the problem persisted after I stopped using them. And then I thought it was a bad rom or rom install, so I tried 3 different ones with no change. So ill just update myself to the OTA GB and take it in for service.

Did the rooted update to GB and it seems to have gotten rid of the phantom touch issue. I ended up having to do a factory reset when I did it, so maybe that helped. Glad I don't have to deal with customer support now. There always seems to be a line when I go in.

Just want to say you're not alone, this happened once temporarily on my G2. It made pressing the "s" and "a" keys on the on-screen keyboard almost impossible!
Its right around the Samsung logo on the back. It moves around (seem like an air bubble). I noticed it when I was holding the tablet in portrait mode and it made a clicking sound. Anyone else having this? And there seem to be a little lump right above the logo too.

I have a clicking noise in the corner where the power button is, if I barely push the glass and back together, it clicks. It's a bit annoying and I hope the glass isn't separating. Is that an issue with the retail Tabs as well as the I/O ones? Maybe I should take it back...
I had the same issue right above the samsung logo. And the samsung logo itself actually had a bulge too which was annoying. It was a 16gb metallic grey model. Made an exchange and the problems gone.

I might just exchange it too.. And what is I/O?

I/O Galaxy Tabs are the limited edition ones that were given to the attendees at Google IO this year. They have a white back with Android robots all over the back. If you google it, you can see what it looks like.
I think that the tab you have is returned to them by me. Maybe they repack it and sold it to you. The lump happened because of me because i put the tab on charging before sleeping and the played the hsn or qvc live stream. The cover was on the tab so when i woke up in the morning the tab was burning hot. I had no intention to burn and have a lump on it but because of the cover it happened. So yes your tab has lump my fault not sure about the clicking sound on the back. Maybe some other person done something, i hope he/she confess here. So ya you have new and really good tested unit. Forget the lump and the clicking sound focus on durability of the unit.
Nothing of the like here... lump or clicking around logo and power button.

Hey guys,
I bought my nexus 7 a few days ago and noticed a very minor screen lift on the left center side.
After examining it again today, I think I might have an extension of the screen lift.
Is anybody else experiencing the same problem?
Yep...

Anyone else?
yep, dont even bother sending it in..it'll come in worse shape(ive sent it in twice, first time the glass came back pretty much separated, second time they fixed the separation, but killed 30% of the touch response)
I've a case that closes kinda tight (blue-rex slim case)
My screen separation has been better since I first got it.
If it's the glue getting warm, then the case is holding it flat until it cools?
Mine started with a lift on the left side. Today I'm getting creaking noises on both sides if I apply light pressure.

Mine has stayed the same. Not horrible but there in the same place as yours.

Yup, gets consistently worse. My one now has so much give on the left hand side that the plastic creaks and clacks together as I hold it.
I'll be RMA-ing this thing every few weeks for the life of the warranty I think.
I just got a c8 a few days ago.. haven't noticed screen lift as of yet. Should I try to exchange it for a c9 while I still can?

So you're saying that every n7 with screen lift has it out of the box, and it doesn't happen after using it for a little while?

Ah, ok. I was under the assumption that it was a gradual issue. I do get a line that flashes through the screen periodically. Is that the screen flicker on this tablet? On my s2 it doesn't look like that. I just want to make sure I have a good device. Every time I buy something I always find out later on that it's the one with the bad screen, bad emmc, or bad whatever else lol

Same as I.
Mine had a bit of screen lift but I put a case on it that hides it and it hasn't bothered me since...

I've had screen lift since day 1 when I got mine from the preorder and mine hasn't gotten any worse. I haven't tried any of the fixes for the separation for fear of stressing the glass. But I am tempted to glue it.
Where's everyone getting their C9 from? I only see C8 everywhere I go.
i sent mine back as soon as i noticed it, new one is fine
So I have this weird issue. The very bottom of my screen does not respond well! At first I thought it was a bug with the navigation bar, tried several roms and tried PIE controls until I figured that there is something wrong. I have the navbar now set at 48 dpi and I have to press at middle of it to work, where the very bottom is dead. I activated 360 rotation so that my statusbar now is at the bottom of the screen instead of navbar and it does not respond at all! Anyone can explain ?

I have Tried like lots of different roms with clean fresh installation and the problem is still there ! I think its a hardware problem. For ezample right now if I set my navbar to 32 dpi it wont respond at all because the bottom of my screen have lost the touch sensitivity. I have droppes my phone several times, could that be it ? I cant really remember when I exactly started noticing the issue...but just few days ago...I have tried PIE and same **** :s I have to set the trigger area to max for it to respond...and yes im talking about experiments after a clean install before installing ANY third party app

Think Im gonna give no damn about it and of course buy the nexus 5, which I would have done either way..but im surprised how can a touchscreen lose a part of its sensitivity somewhere on the screen ?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
If you look closely at your screen at an angle with the screen off you will be able to see the digitizer matrix that is fused to the screen.
It is a series of squares.
Each of them squares has 3 horizontal lines and one vertical.
Behind the bezel there will be the circuitry that connects every horizontal and vertical line
If say for instance after one of your phone drops it has damaged one of the connectors at the side, you will lose the entire row of touch detection. Which is probably what has happened

Alex is right i had this happen to my moto defy. I'd say get it done under warrnty no matter if youre keeping or selling. Improve your resale value and protect you from having the entire digitizer die on you
