[Q] Anyone tried any of these build.prop tweaks? - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Elsewhere on XDA there's a thread for a whole heap of build.prop tweaks here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227269
Anyone tried any of them on the U8800, particularly Aurora???

Changing LCD density without problems

So guys,I wanted a long time ago,in a rom far far away ( ) to change my LCD density, because I found it very cool to make my screen seem like a higher resolution one. Also,it's like it grows in size, because more things fit in the same physical space.
However,in Samsung roms(I think only the HyperDroid rom doesn't have this problem, without me being 100% sure) problems can arise when changing DPI in the build.prop .One problem was that the camera was FCing, other problems included incompatibilities with the market etc.My deterrent to lower my DPI was the non-functioning camera.
Anyway,I visited the Desire HD forums 3 days ago,and I found something rather interesting in the IceColdSandwich rom thread. So,for this one all credit goes to LordClockan(Rom and kerned developer for the Desire HD) and alienmind(He and LordClockan are on the same team,or kind of,I don't exactly know),who found out about this(Or at least that's where I heard it from).
So,to change your dpi you can go to /data/local.prop (if the file isn't there just create it with root explorer) and write this line: qemu.sf.lcd_density=xxx,where "xxx" is whatever value you want.
So,while this isn't the best superduperwow tweak ever, and while some may already know it,it is useful after all,so I thought of sharing it with you guys.
Hi,
this solution isn't working for me :-( Tried on the latest leaked ICS 4.0.3. LPH original Samsung and Pure ICS Special edition 6.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1451346. Both with the same result. Nothing happened. DPI is still 240. Checked several times - name and location of local.prop file and corectness of the string qemu.sf.lcd_density=xxx (xxx is 170 in my case) Any advices, pls?

First,I think it has to have the right permissions.Dunno which it needs exactly, but try chmod 777.Also,the dpi value must be a multiple of 8,so try 168 or 176 if you want to be close to 160.Try these and report back.
Meanwhile,I'm wondering why the thread has a 1 star rating. It's not anything spectacular, but wtf?Anyway,I ain't here for being congratulated,so be it.
EDIT:Bear in mind that nothing will change in your build.prop .There,it'll still show 240.You will just see the difference.
Has anyone tried changing the dpi on gb roms?

Thanks for advices. I did everything as you said. Changed value to 176. Check premission - granted 777. The value 240 checked in the build.prop Without success It seems that system ingore this file completely. Whatever is in local.prop file, DPI is still 240
It was the same yesterday when my S2 was running on latest beta leak LPH and the same behaviour with today's official ICS from Smamsung LPQ.

(HELP) Scripts

Hi again. I have question about scripts. Since i dont want to change my ROM it can be usefull to use some of the performance scripts. But as i walk through the threads i really dont know which will work on my Blade. Can somebody recommend me a few good scripts for perfomance and smooth scrolling which are balanced and fully working (no bugs).
Thnx
Anybody?
I may be able to help but I really don't get the meaning of "scripts".

I mean the scripts which are build into custom rims and even standalone and you load them with script apply from market with root permission. For example supercharger v6 or scripts for faster 3g connection, performance and smooth scrolling scripts.

If you want to correct someone then please first correct yourself and don't LOL on people...I don't ask for any codes but for scripts. Its tweaks that you load via script manager with root permissions and it changing the build.prop file. Like 3g turbocharger or supercharger v6 or juwes ram scripts. I'm asking here for help and for advice which to use not to be corrected in a bad way. Thanks

Try v6 supercharger....it is the only script I came across...will post here if I find anything else...

[Q] CRT Screen-Off Animation

I know that with the huge steps forward for other aspects of CM10's development this might not seem like a big deal, but I really miss the CRT Screen-Off animation. I was forced to go back to CM10 quarx-nightly-0924 because I could not get the custom kernel and unified ROM to perform reliably on my phone. I have an MB525 (SOC) with the above nightly, rooted with SuperOneClick, running full signed gapps from 0726. I have located numerous guides on decompiling and recompiling framework-res.apk and editing the XML of the bools file but have been unable to successfully recompile it after editing. I am getting really frustrated. Has anyone succeeded in creating an update.zip or have an altered resources.arsc file that can be inserted into the framework-res.apk in order to produce the desired effect? One that works with 0924 nightly for Green Lens? Or perhaps some help in properly making the changes myself? Any help with this would be appreciated.
Desired effect? You mean CRT off animation? Just go to developer options > set window animation=1. Tada!

That would work if I was on the newest nightly. All my animation settings ARE set to 1x. I am on the 0924 nightly. I do know how to read. That answer has been provided 17 times by 22 people. I had to go back to it for the stability. This is my only phone and I use it a lot for work as an EMT so I needed something that I knew would just work. But I can't find how to integrate the CRT screen off animation on that specific build.

NM. On the custom kernel build as of 10.18. Working great so no worries.

Post Your build.prop's here!

Hello EVERYONE,
I wanted to make a thread where we could post our build.props so we could get our plays to go even FASTER!!!
Please post them in a .txt form ( so the file should look like this: build.txt ).
TO INSTALL ( For Noobs )
Change the file from build.txt to build.prop
Copy and paste into /system/
Change permissions to rw-r--r--.
AND also state whether its best for gaming, battery life, multitasking, etc.
AND state if its for R800i, R800x or R800at
AND state for which ROM it is for ( if it is ROM specific )
AND state which version:2.3.4, 2.3.3, 4.0.4, etc.
FIRST, mine. (hehehe..)
Best for everyday usage + a bit more SPEED!!!!
For R800i, Xperia NXT 1.3, 2.3.7
Sure, why not. Stability, speed, and battery tweaks galore, piled on top of the NXT build.prop
And it's rw-r--r-- btw, not rwxrwxrwx
Oh and R800x, 2.3.7
I search the stock build.prop can someone help?
