the hell
Same rumor running amok, but baseless rumors aside, would it be that surprising that a Verizon Nexus S will take advantage of a network which Veriz. is about to push hard (LTE/"4G")? Will Samsung's processors be optimized by February for different network's "4G"?
It's entirely possible, even understandable.
This could be true, but I bet Verizon will want Google to plaster their logo on it and give it some "features"(bloatware) only available on Verizon. Also, there is no way Samsung would ever have that much time to optimize a new radio in 2 months without them ****ing up:
"Dear Samsung, my 4g radio keeps going out please fix it!"
Fix? Oh just use 3g, you now have a 3g enabled device.
Just an example that you can't rush things like that. Unless they have been working real closely with Samsung to deliver a 4g enabled Nexus S. A Nexus S sounds a little more realistic but a 4g Nexus S sounds pretty much unimaginable. Notice how Samsung didn't even put the HSPA+ on this one, you really think they are going to make their second flagship device not have 4g and make a new edition that does the some minor changes(like an iPhone)?
Im sorry but Tmobiles HSPA 7.2 is plenty fast,

T-mobile's HSPA+ 21mbps is faster
I doubt it. Why would they want a google flagship phone. There are rumors that they are getting the iphone. May go to sprint?

Verizon getting their version of the Nexus-S would not surprise me one bit if they did.
Remember, Verizon had their own version of the Nexus-1 as well... called the HTC Incredible

And max out on 10, if lucky. Vibrant maxed at 7.2mbps. G2 hit 10. Nothing higher. And probably won't be.
Even then, holy cow guys. 7.2mbps is super fast. Guess what Verizon does? 1-2. Guess what AT&T does? 1.3~? Guess what Sprint "4g" does? Honestly dunno but I'm assuming 2-6.
T-Mobile was already lightning fast before this whole "4g" talk and I have no complaints. 7.2mbps on my cell phone is fast enough for the next... year. Of course then I'll be buying the Nexus 3.
i get like 2-3mbs on the myTouch 3g Slide and i dont complain about it. Im in NY I would think i be getting higher.

you got to remember in new york peak time is all the time
In Corona CA/LA area i get 5-6 mbs down and 1.3 up
it should be noted that mbs/kbps is not a very true depiction of data transfer

this thread is hilarious... i would be surprised if Verizon got the NS.. back when N1 was released Google actually had a grayed out Verizon option on the N1 sale page but Verizon still never got the N1.

and i would go into a Verizon store a brutally slaughter everyone hahaha
Doubt Verizon is gonna get the Nexus S. You guys do know that, so far, the last two Samsung Android phones Verizon released had Bing on it, right? Also, none of them had the Droid name. I don't know if Verizon would want to change that pattern.
hey i hear vibrant 4g got released today, what do people think about it?
it has stock froyo and from what i hear is that it has no issues...kinda thinkin bout switchin to tmo's 4g even though its not really 4g, but its faster than sprint where i live
what you guys think?
Wait for Galaxy S II. T-Mobile was the first carrier they announced.
This is for those who are eligible for an upgrade or otherwise changing in the next few months. Are you -
1. going to stay with Sprint?
2. moving to a different carrier because Sprint is not getting the phone you want?
3. What's your next phone?
I like the Nexus S but its not dual core. I've seen the comparisons, its better than the Evo, but not as good as the Galaxy S 2 which is the one to beat. Wish it was on Sprint. AT&T/TMob are out of the question, it has to be Sprint/Verizon for me.
Why not T-Mobile? Coverage isn't good in tour area?

What's wrong with the Evo 3D?
It'll be the most powerful phone out at release...
No idea, going to see what all of the other carriers have. Just not that pumped about the Evo 3D. I wish the Nexus S had better specs as well.

Exactly.
AT&T gets no signal at all in my apt (so same for TMobile)
Sprint gets 1-2 bars
Verizon is 5.
Evo 3d and Galaxy S2 are pretty comparable, both are 1.2ghz dual core, who knows which phone has the better battery life.
I'll take Sense over TouchWiz allways, but at the end of the day I'll end up running MIUI anyway.
Galaxy has a better screen, is a lot slimmer and lighter, and has 16/32 internal vs 1/4 on the Evo - that makes a big difference.
Since I don't want or need a gimmick like 3d, I'd rather have the Galaxy, all other things being equal.
i dunno right now.
id like to get a evo 3d and the view tablet but im not going to until they get there network issues fixed. then the lose of the 4info and espn txt services have me really questioning if the time has finally come to change carriers.

I expect it to be pretty active on here for quite a while though
I guess Sprint wants to push EVO 3D sales. Either way for those who are eligible for an upgrade can get a nice deal on the Evo 4G. Thanks for the info!
Looks like Sprint getting ready for those LTE phones ...
I guess I'll be ditching my Evo 4G when that happens...

I was thinking the same thing. But i see that coming in 4Q 2012 at the least
I see now there is a similar thread and not to bump dup threads, but do you think they can roll out their LTE network that quickly?
I enjoy my evo. I hope when they transfer to lte I hope they bring back the new better evo.

Well seems the name was changed to the Galaxy Nexus [sounds so much better to me]. The official specs look nice. Some may same only a 5MP camera? The rest od the specs fully make up for it. As its due in November, if Sprint should be getting it, I should say. Thoughts?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-F_ke3rxopc#! Nice video, so we know it'll be on verizon for sure.
Edit: edited thought

Not sure if sprint will get it. It's only going to support LTE and HSPA+, so IF sprint gets it, it would be a 3g only model.
cant say galaxy nexus doesn't roll but i wish it comes to sprint need to replace my evo for that gorgeous screen and dual core
Looks tempting enough to move over to Verizon when it comes out. Really nice new features.
I would love for Sprint to get it. Let it be an early LTE phone. I don't need Wimax, since they never brought it to where I live.

I wouldn't actually mind it being 3g as i can wait for LTE and pay less as WIMAX is barely usable.
sprint wont get it...stupid wimax
Sprint wont get it guys. They're marketing it as having 4G. To keep up with the features of ICS. So Sprint is screwed out of this one!
Meh, sprint is supposed to have LTE in 2012 so it'll probably get there eventually. Or the earth will blow up, either way I don't care.

If they could just do what verizon did with the zoom and issue it out in November as a 3g only phone (LTE version) and then upgrade them when LTE became available. That would be the best. Don't hold it back from us just because your LTE network isn't ready yet.

good point, that would be nice
I want the begining of the youtube video as a bootanimation! That would be fing sweet!
i think, like the nexus s 4g, a carrier (verizon) will have exclusivity on it for a bit and then released to the mass over a period of time. makes perfect sense considering verizon will get a LTE version and with sprint rolling out LTE in the first half of 2012, thats when sprints galaxy nexus should pop up.
