anybody got the plans coming up to porting the new evo sense 4.0 to evo 4g
Nothing reallt from the lte evo can before form the big differences dual-core processor, bigger ram ect, but the one V with sense 4 and ics will most likely be ported, try looking around before posting questions as this question has been asked and answered many times. -_-
porting from 1 v isnt that hard since our specs match it hardware wise.
the problem is we dont have a booting ics sense kernel

any way to run htc evo rom on htc hero cdma
Nope - but you can get 2.2 on your hero - there are many roms in the android development section - have fun!
You can never run an EVO rom on the Hero. The EVO roms are built for a bigger-size screen/display and a faster processor, so there's no way the Hero could even dream of running an EVO rom. But as the above post said, we do have Android 2.2 in a couple Hero roms in the Dev section.

Actually don't be surprised to see it get ported over very soon, I give it a week or two before we see toast or maybe another do it. Its really just a matter of changing the kernel for our processors and then fixing the minor resolution flaws. There are something that will probably wont work period though.
So at the most maybe a month.
the list included the following devices
HTC Sensation
HTC Sensation XL
HTC Sensation XE
HTC EVO 3D
HTC EVO Design 4G
HTC Amaze 4G
HTC Rezound
HTC Vivid
don't get shocked cause u didnt see Desire HD,htc said that this is the first list for devices that will get ics,and they will keep testing all other devices to see if is it possible to have ics,and will release a new list whenever testing is complete
in my openion this is how it goes, new devices will get it first, then they will say our dhd won't get it and finally they will release it =D
I hope!!!!
So? I love Sense, but I also have a HC tablet and let me tell you- the UI (ICS has virtually the same UI as HC) is brilliant. Once CM releases a build for DHD I'm dumping Sense and start using that.

I hope too!
Who needs official ICS with sense 2 when there's such a heaving dev community?
Well i think theyll release it for a newer phone of theirs, and the DHD/Inspire Devs will just port that release to our phones.. Lol
you guys seem to forget that XDA devs need a base to begin with, so the more bases and kernel sources HTC provides the better for us, for example before the WVGA sense 3.0 DHD/incredibleS and runny leaks all customs ports of sense 3 needed to resize the graphics which wasn't a walk in the park, equaly right now roms based on WVGA sense 3.0/3.5 are running so well because we already have Gingerbread kernel source from HTC
so yes even if we rely on custom roms we will always need a compatible base
the good news is that HTC committed to ICS on Sensation XL which is WVGA and has close specs including the same GPU/CPU and RAM as our DHD, a fully working port is almost guarranteed

Specifically with the Sensation XL
i wish !! D
We don´t need official ics release, we only need to wait devs to port it, and sure will be better than official one....
Thanks devs.
Theres nothing stopping HTC from upgrading the Desire HD to sensation XL performance. If we can do it at Dev level like with Android Revolution, including upping the CPU to a safe level like 1.2 Ghz, then HTC can do it. They're just being picky.
we believe in our developers
And thanks to this guy ^…Im typing this from my ICS Inspire 4G. You dh.harald, truly rock my friend

Okay so with all the talk of ice cream sandwich coming out soon iv been looking at if the HTC evo 4g will be getting it. I see that the HTC evo 3D is going to get it then i look if the 4g will get it. I dont see it but i see the HTC evo 4g design?! I didnt even know they "remade" the evo. So apparently the design is going to get ice cream sandwich but not the normal evo?!?

The design has a newer faster 1.2ghz scorpion processor and twice the RAM of the OG
Sent from my -EViLizED-EVO-
From what I've read the designs single core processor is just as fast as the 3vos dualcore basically its the 3vo with a single core and no "3d" that's not really 3d its parallax which is a holographic display and not true 3d
Sent from my -EViLizED-EVO-
The Design has more ram, faster processor and can run ICS efficiently without any problems. As for the OG evo, I'm sure it can run ICS but the device is "officially" old and is on EOL. The sprint corporate store I work at isn't even getting more in stock. The OG Evo's that we have left are the last in terms of getting new ones in to sell.
Also CM9 will be out in January which isn't too long of a wait considering we're halfway through November already.

Courtesy of HTC Facebook page we already know which htc devices will get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update. Now the company put them together in a list on official HTC Blog. It looks like the HTC EVO Shift 4G did not make the cut for the "official" update .
DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
HTC Amaze 4G
HTC Desire S
HTC Desire HD
HTC EVO 3D
HTC EVO Design 4G
HTC Incredible S
HTC Sensation
HTC Sensation XL
HTC Sensation 4G
HTC Sensation XE
HTC Raider
HTC Rezound
HTC Rhyme
HTC Thunderbolt
HTC Vivid
Currently Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update rolling out to German HTC Sensation XE and basic HTC Sensation, the update will be more widely available in the next few weeks. The update for the HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XL will follow, but there is no estimated time of arrival.
Not to worried about the official update . I have faith in our Devs here to make it available for the Shift

Oh yea, and the shift will run it like a beast too. Knowing how smooth Sense 3.5 was..and since "sense" 4.0 (look a homophone lol) is even lighter, it'll be hella fast.
If sense ICS gets WiMAX first. I'll use it.

When the EVO 3D/EVO Design get their sense 3.6 ICS upgrades it will help to get WiMax on the Shift ports also. (Sense 3.6/4.0 alike)
I seriously doubt we will ever see a Sense 3.5 WiMax capable ROM. I mean it really wasn't going to happen until sprint got a Sense 3.5 WiMax Phone, and now any new phone Sprint will get that "might" get WiMax will be Sense 4.0 developers will abandon 3.5 (for good reason)
Sprint probably won't release any new WiMax phones anyway, unless their LTE plan COMPLETELY goes to ****.

i was reading something yesterday about sprint getting the galaxy nexus next month and the htc one in june and the phones are supposed to have the ability to transition from 3g to 4g like they do with 2g/3g now and have the lte radios in em for when the lte goes live. see what happens though. I knew the shift wouldnt make the cut for the official ICS though so thats not a shocker.
Yeah I think we all saw this coming, but we were just hoping anyway.

i know chances are very slim to none, but do you guys think that HTC may push a sense 4.0A OTA Update for the evo? sense 4.0A on the one v matches our specs like 1 ghz proccesor and 512 ram. Voice your opinion in this thread!
Evo has been discontinued so the chances are slim to none but closer to none that it will happen

No, we will not see it as the device has been deemed EOL, so it is no longer supported.
Though a leak from the One V might be helpful in porting Sense 4.0 as you can see they have very similar specs: Qualcomm Specs
