I need to send my MB252 in for a earpiece speaker repair on the warranty. So I need to flash it back to stock/official rom.
I have installed CM7 and tried to restore the phone through the bootloader. But it still shows "MOD version" in the "About phone" and a CM7 splash screen. Oh and the unlock screen is properly not the original.
Is it possible to downgrade, restore splash screen ect. and downgrade it any futher, than I already did?
Try your original SBF from :
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordan/list.php
I can flash my phone, but now its stuck at the "ANDROID" animated text.
Any suggestions?

When my Defy had to go in for repair a month back I flashed my phone using RSDLite and it put it all back to original rom. No problems.
I just tried RSDlite with the Nordic sbf, and now its stuck at the Android animated text.

So i got this phone in a soft brick maybe... My knowledge regarding the droid 2 is essentially small. The phone will not boot up,it got stuck on the motorola logo, i was told that the phone was rooted and flashed with some sort of gingerbread, so i booted into recovery and did a factory reset...still after the reset the phone is still stuck in the motorola logo. Is there any one click restore or any link that might help me get it working again? Thanks in advance
You're going to have to sbf your phone back to froyo.

Could you talk me through? As i said i truly have no knowledge of this phone..

try ezSBF
also read about SBF in droid wiki and FAQs, links in my sig
edit: try this one
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-2-hacks/161849-tool-ezsbf.html
that link may not work, thought it had been updated
you need SBF, RSD Lite, and Motorola drivers
in think latest SBF is 2.3.20
you might find downloads here

Hi everyone i have a moto defy with cynogen mod installed and the mic has stopped working, it works in speakerphone but not regular mode. I have cleared the cache and factory reset it but still no luck. Does anyone here have any experience with this issue ?
Thanks Tom
Try a sbf flash, that rules out any software glitches
And what build are you using
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
its running cyanogen mod 9-20121116-Nightly-Jordan android 4.0.4 and its a green lense model.
i use RSD Lite and will any sbf work ? im unsure of the original carrier, so im going to try a british retail version.
and super1click to root it ?
Try the one corresponding to your earliest stock build. Don't worry about original carrier, you can use the one closest to your current carrier

reflashed back to stock motoblur, its really slow ! and it did not fix the mic, guess i have to buy a new mic for it ?
If it's broke in stock, then you'll have to replace the Mic
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
how do i do this ? also i oppened it up and it looks as if the mic is missing, at the top of the main board, there is some solder and no gold mic..
Cheers Tom
Sorry, but I cannot help you there, since I'm not well versed with phone hardware repair. I suggest you search for a disassembly guide for the Motorola defy

could you give me a guide?
I have the European version
Try to downgrade to 4.6.8 and then again flash to CM7.
I guess I do not need to explain how to upgrade to CM7 from 4.6.8 if you already had CM7.
I did not find the guide you could give me the link?

There are so many ways to boot your phone by pressing buttons ... Did you "Step 1: Boot into the bootloader, press and hold the up and down volume buttons power on device (continue to hold the up and down volume buttons)"? You get a simple black and white bootscreen with
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
(as seen here at 1:40)
This is the mode where you can sbf your phone. (AFAIK. I SBFed my phone once and got many tips like "boot into blabla and press yaddayadda" I lost track wich one was actually working. This one should do the trick.)
data cable is bad, try other
I follow the guide the process reaches 100%, without the phone restarts, after a while appears that mistake

I had the same problem and flashed with ubuntu. Now it boots. Thanks! :good:
I'm starting to think that I messed up bad this time, I'm having 0 sucess trying to revive my Defy, saturday I had decided I wanted to downgrade my CM10 back to CM7 so I went ahead with the whole SBF flashing business but somewhere during that something happened and now the only thing my Defy is managing to do is light the white led when I connect it on the USB to the PC, but the PC doesn't seem to be recognizing it.
I was trying to flash some SBFs, mostly Eclair and Froyo, but not one of them worked, all of them would just not boot, but up until I tried the last SBF it was at least being recognized. I assume the problem was because last time I had flashed a 4.5.1 SBF and if I'm not mistaken it isn't possible to downgrade after that.
I've already followed the unbricking thread, but I can't do much since it isn't being recognized when plugged in, and I've already left it there for more than 24 hours so I think the problem is not with the battery.
Flash dfp231. It should get you to the Motorola logo. If it hangs then wipe data from stock recovery

Oh no, I have no knowledge of eletronics, don't wanna risk more damage by trying that.
Use an external battery charger. You may have run out of battery while trying to unbrick, and the phone at this stage cannot be charged normally

Use CM7, CM9 or MS2Ginger. Use aroma full wiper or TJKVs safe wiper to wipe everything and then flash the ROM.

At the moment i am using Ommi-Rom which is android 4.4.2
It is stable and I am yet to find any issues with it.
If you want to try it flash update-recovery.zip if you are in Slim,PA or CM10 or defy_twrp_recovery_2.6.3.0.zip if you are in a GB based ROM. (you have to reboot ater flashing defy_twrp_recovery_2.6.3.0.zip to enter the updated recovery.)
Then flash defy_safewipe.zip (not necessary if you flashed defy_twrp_recovery_2.6.3.0.zip)
and then flash Omni-Rom and GApps
You can provide feedback for Ommi here.

You have to download the sbf and drivers, select sbf in rsdlite and flash. And what do you mean by nothing happened? Nothing will happen without the sbf

Yellow? Confirm if you are in boot loader mode(google it) it's a black screen with white text

Select defy plus and dfp 231 as per carrier/region
If stuck on Motorola logo for a long time after flashing enter stock recovery and wipe data
