So i got this phone in a soft brick maybe... My knowledge regarding the droid 2 is essentially small. The phone will not boot up,it got stuck on the motorola logo, i was told that the phone was rooted and flashed with some sort of gingerbread, so i booted into recovery and did a factory reset...still after the reset the phone is still stuck in the motorola logo. Is there any one click restore or any link that might help me get it working again? Thanks in advance
You're going to have to sbf your phone back to froyo.

try ezSBF
also read about SBF in droid wiki and FAQs, links in my sig
edit: try this one
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-2-hacks/161849-tool-ezsbf.html
that link may not work, thought it had been updated
you need SBF, RSD Lite, and Motorola drivers
in think latest SBF is 2.3.20
you might find downloads here

Hey everyone, super novice at this stuff but I've been reading up on multiple threads on how to flash my droid x with RSD lite and 2.3.340 sbf. I've followed people's steps on multiple guides but I got the following errors on the bootloader screen:
Bootloader
30.04
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
I'm using RSD Lite v4.9 and 2.3.340 SBF, I have the latest Motorola drivers... What did I do wrong?! Is there anyway I can fix this? Please help!!!
I used rsdlite4.8, what vrson were you on before you tried to flash. If you were on 2.3.320 try flashing that sbf file and then just take the ota update

Got this DX from a friend, thinking it might just be a SBF flash away from being fixed.
Won't boot past 'M' and couldn't even access stock recovery. I don't know what he did to it.
Anyway, I RSD'd it and it does it thing. RSD says phone rebooted and everything passed, but the phone is back at the bootloader. I pull the battery, put it back in and the bootloader is still there.
I do another RSD flash. This time it actually tries to reboot, but hangs at the 'M' again. I let it sit for about 20 minutes and it never changes and RSD says reboot manually. I do another battery pull and reboot it. Still stuck. Tried it with a different SBF for the X, same results. Battery is dead now, gonna charge it with my roommate's X in the morning.
Just wondering if anyone has come across this and knows a solution, if there even is one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Note: I'm using RSDLite 5.5
I recommend trying an older version of RSD Lite. Try 4.8 or 4.9.

Will give it a shot when I can charge the battery, thanks!
4.8 always worked for me. You should look into 1kds linux disc as well. Once you burn it you'll never use rsd again.

Press both camera buttons after attempting to access stock recovery by holding power and home. sbf using rsd lite 4.7 grab the full
flash sbf 3.3.340 /not system only file! Should be about 486,000mb. (Might need winrar to extract file before flashing with
rsd.)
Instruction: (1)Sbf 3.3.340 full flash
(2) When rsd says manually power up the phone. Disconnect from computer, and pull battery.(3) Boot holding home and power button. Click both volume keys down to access stock recovery.(4) Wipe data factory reset.
This worked for me! Good luck.

So I tried using an older version of RSD (4.8) and got the same results, although I'm now stuck at the older white 'M' as opposed to the newer red one.
I used VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf and still cannot access the stock recovery. I'm starting to think the phone is fubar. Anymore ideas?
Gonna try the linux way in a few.
Since you have the white motorola its on 340, so thats a good sign. Did you try to burn 1kds? Google stuck at white moforola. I'm pretty sure your phone isn't fubared

I just tried 1kds with the same result. Stuck at white 'M' with no access to stock recovery. I read somewhere that this could be a RAM hardware failure, but I really hope it's not.

I'm nearly positive an SBF is the only remedy. The issues everyone seem to be having with SBFing is very odd.

use linux ... its easy
I's guessing your sbf file is not right in the head somehow. I would try redownloading the sbf and make very sure it is for the version of bootloader you are on. ALSO might try an sbf from linux. I have had lots of problems with RSD Lite in Windows that seem to solve themselves in linux, plus with linux there are no drivers to install. I will private message you with some good instructions with a type of ALL in ONE process. let me know if u have any problems..

Hi,
I had my droid X rooted and then did accepted the update to 2.2.1 before realizing this would cause issues. I'm now stuck at 2.2.1 and cannot update past that or downgrade or do anything. My phone still things its rooted but doesn't give me super user status. But programs identify it as rooted. I do have droid x bootstrapper on it however being an idiot I did not create a back up. Can anyone give me some guidance on how to fix this? I don't care if it is rooted anymore I'd just like to have it working properly.
thanks in advance for any advice,
Jeff
I'd use rsd lite and sbf using the sbf file for system version .340....check the stickies for guides on how to do that

I SBFed to .340 and can't get the .602 or .605 update. I think as they just started rolling out the 13mb .605 update they suspend the others for bandwidth purposes-my theory at least.
So I recently bought a droid x, I currently own an evo shift.. so I rooted the droid and installed boostrap x.. now I nandroided and proceeded to flash miui.us 1.10.21, so upon completion phone is stuck at the M screen... now I go into recovery via "home and "power" but I can't flash any rom besides and update.zip... I was on stock 2.2.1 which is my problem since its GB rom... my question what can I do to boot my phone up?? Any insight would be great..

You have to SBF.
Google for instructions on how to do so, it's really easy and returns your phone to stock.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Thanks I will def try that...
Update: sbf work flawless... now my question is... if I want to flash miui.us do I use boostrap X or 2?

Use Droid 2 Bootstrapper.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Are you on froyo stock or gingerbread stock? Because if you are using a newer version of MIUI and on the froyo kernel then youll get stuck on the bootlogo. One good way to tell if youre on froyo or gingerbread is by the boot logo, red moto=gingerbread; white moto=froyo
if ur on froyo u use dx bootloader, if ur on gb u use d2 bootstrap

I find that Droid 2 Bootstrapper works just as well on Froyo.

Sorry for the late reply.. I had a hard time getting my phone to take the sbf.. I was stuck on the boot logo (red) andqould not tke the sbf.. I finally was able to revert back to sbf. 340.. now I wanna goto miui as that was I wad running on my shift.. I've read I need to sbf to. 602 first.. so do I need to do that first or can I just flash miui from. 340?
Sent from my DROIDX using xda premium
hey, guy, you should get dx drives, rsd lite,sbf(602or605 maybe good ) ready before flashing your phone.. there are many topics about how to. search on google...
Sent from my DROIDX using xda premium

This may be silly, but I'm interested in upgrading from the Froyo Kernel to the Gingerbread Kernel on my rooted droid x. I really wanna play around with roms that are based off of the gingerbread one. What's the easiest way of doing this without having to sbf?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'm not sure that you can without SBFing. You may be able to use a Gingerbread AIO.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

Get cm7gb awsome, also I would spf to b safe also update to fullest version and get the pc self root for most recent update

Why are you afraid to SBF? its easier than flashing a rom
Doing an SBF scares me bc if I do ONE wrong step it can brick they phone. Flashing a rom might do something glitchy to your phone, but it won't comepletely brick it. Not to mention if you can boot into Clockwork mod you're always safe. Anyway, I HAVE done Froyo SBF's a couple of times when I've done stupid things to my phone in the past, but I always wait to use that as a last resort.

If your SBF messes up.. Just SBF again.
The Droid X cannot be bricked. Anything that goes wrong with your Droid X can be fixed with a simple SBF. It's easy and only takes fifteen minutes.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
The SBF process really isn't any where near as complex as many make it seem.
The "OMG RISKY" warnings are likely for their own protection and so that they don't get chewed out JUST IN CASE you brick your device.
-Reliable Cord.
-If using a laptop, make sure it's charged.
-Make sure your phone is charged.
And you'll be fine.
That being said...
Rom Toolbox by Jrummy has an AIO updater file that will work.
